called mystery virus causing more than 500 respiratory illnesses across the state. 14 children in california have been infected by entero virus d 68. there are now five cases here in the bay area. we're live with more about the case here. jonathan? >> officials aren't saying much about that case and in part it's because the child is under 18. that child was treated outside of the city of san francisco. but doctors. >> today we learned a san francisco resident has been dying nosed with entero rierus d 68. >> public health officials say the virus results in little more than a common cold. >> there is no specific treatment for entero virus.

we are learning about the night police arrested ray mcdonald after he is accused of abusing his pregnant fiancee. tonight more on that from abc7 news reporter vic lee live from police headquarters. vic? >> first of all police and da declined to comment on all of this. but if the da decides to charge this case, that cost will be a very important witness. what to he see? hear? what did mcdonald tell him? we've found something intriguing about what is said on the dispatch tape that night. take a listen. >> this is the night ray mcdonald was accused of abusing his fiancee.

the dispatcher says there is a new reporting party meaning a prior call to this one. who made that call? did it differ from this one? lawyers tell us they're typically considered hearsay. sources tell us he went to mcdonald's home after the 49er defensive end called him. saying it was before or about the time a domestic violence call was made. they tell abc7 news he worked in a secondary job at security at 49er games. sources say he was likely off duty. lawyers say that doesn't matter if this case goes to trial. >> on or off duty isn't important. the police officer made certain
