a very, very big job. this bizarre ritual is something that firefighters do every day. he's gauging the humidity. it tills him 34%, only increasing the fire threat in marin county. hot weather isn't helping things here. >> we're now in consecutive years of drought conditions. our fuels are at critical levels. fuel moisture, which tells us we're in extreme fire conditions right now. >> reporter: the doors to the firehouse are open today. part of national fire prevention week. and the neighbors are dropping by to say hi, and thank you. >> and it takes one person making a mistake to endanger this beautiful mountain. >> reporter: san francisco's fire boat was on the bay showing the public what it can do in a fire emergency. on dry land, firefighters were at the explore tore yum teaching

a live look from the emeriville cam, look at the sunshine. but we have cloud cover along the coast. location was key today. clover dale was 106 yesterday, but today they dropped down to 97. relief is coming but look at the coast. half moon bay dropped down to 17 delgs cooler today. so we have a light sea breeze that's kicking in. it is gradually cooling off parts of the bay area. look at our wide range of current temperatures right now. half moon bay at 59 degrees. but that sea breeze not enough to move inland. and san francisco, pretty comfortable compared to days past. temperatures right now at 71 degrees. coming up we'll track more relief on the way with the accuweather seven day forecast. you can track your weather from apple's app store and we have more information on our website.

>> thank you. we have developing news out of dallas. authorities have located the homeless man they have been searching for who may have had contact with thomas duncan, the liberia man in the hospital with ebola. meantime, duncan is now listed in critical condition. abc news reporter elizabeth herr has the latest from dallas. >> reporter: unconscious and heavily sedated, thomas duncan is on a ventilator unable to breathe on his own. his family tells abc news he's also on dialysis with kidney failure. >> we understand that his situation has take an turn for the worse. we know that ebola is a very serious disease. and we're hoping for his recovery. >> reporter: his family under close watch remains symptom free. officials say they are among some 50 people who require daily monitoring for 21 days. >> at cdc, we have seen the level of interest increase. in fact, we are getting 50 calls or e-mails per day before the initial patient was diagnosed

here, and now it's up to 800 calls or e-mails per day >> reporter: the results sparked false alarms including one on saturday, after a man traveling from liberia to new jersey got sick on the flight. he later tested negative for ebola. in massachusetts, former patient dr. rick sacre is back in the hospital, placed in isolation. but doctors do not believe it's a relapse. as for duncan, officials say right now he is receiving supportive care. not experimental medication out of fear they say his condition may get worse. in dallas, i'm elizabeth herr for abc 7 news. police are searching for whoever shot and killed a man in san francisco's bay view district today. it happened around 2:30 this afternoon on harbor road near engels street. he was found with a gunshot wound to his upper body. police say he's in his 20s.

anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact police. a fight led to gun fire in oakland leaving one man dead and two others injured. it happened outside a nightclub around 1:30 this morning. oakland police tell abc 7 news their officer saw a large group fighting at the intersection of 14th and franklin street. then they heard the gunshots. all of the victims are men in their 30s. all three know each other. family and is police are looking for a suspect to led them on a chase and rammed his car into a patrol car. they tried to stop him outside the trailer haven mobile home park. the driver didn't stop and led the officer on the high speed chase for two miles. it ended in the cul-de-sac near woodland avenue. >> somehow it made a u turn and faced head on with the officer. the suspect vehicle accelerate and rammed the front end of the

patrol car. the officer fired at the driver of that suspect vehicle. >> police aren't sure if gun fire hit the driver. the officer was not hurt and has been put on routine paid leave. the driver took off. responding officers chased the vehicle but stopped the pursuit because of dangerously high speeds. palo alto based hewlett-packard may be looking to split into two separate companies. very reports that the breakup would create one company that sells h.p. computers and printers and the other would focus on technology like servers and software. the announcement could come as early as tomorrow. consumers turning to mobile devices have forced h.p. to lay off nearly 34,000 employees in recent years. the company announced plans to lay off an additional 11 to 16,000 people by the end of this month. cal train raised the cost of some some tickets today.

a one-way ticket increased 25 cents and day passes are now 50 cents more. no fare increase if you use a clipper card and the move is actually to encourage riders to use the clipper card. the agency also will adjust its timetable to accommodate the replacement of four aging rail bridges in san mateo. cal train says the changes are in an effort to better adapt to growing ridership. the boys are back in town again. they are a bit exhausted as we catch one the giants fresh from their historic victory in washington, d.c. what madison bumgarner

new details tonight on a horrific crash in southern california that killed five teenagers. police now say an unlicensed

16-year-old driver was behind the wheel. he is the only survivor and was seriously injured in the crash. the car went off interstate 5 in irvine saturday morning as the teens were returning from an amusement park. investigators believe speed was a factor. harvard university police are investigating two e-mails sent from the same account this weekend, one threatening a campus shooting. the next an apology. hundreds of people affiliated with harvard got an e-mail friday stating a mass shooting would take place on saturday. the recipient list targeted those with asian last nights. and saturday, those same people got an apology for the first email. it read that it was written by the man's younger brother and he didn't mean it. it was the blessing of the beasts today in oakland. dozens of people brought their pets to the 15th annual ceremony at skyline united church of

live from the tower cam, downtown san francisco. warm today, but cooler than in the past two days. look at the temperatures right now. yesterday at this time we're at 91 degrees. san francisco at 71. so noticeably cooler. oakland, 80. 88 san jose. the treetops are barely moving out there. napa, 91. 82 petaluma. 95, concord. liver more, current temperature at 98 degrees. san jose camera, a bit of cloud cover upstairs. high, thin cirrus clouds and the forecast will call for coastal clouds returning tonight. still mild to hot for tomorrow. but tracking a gradual cooldown on the seven day forecast. little change. still that ridge of high pressure in control, bringing us the sunshine. the very warm temperatures and will continue to be well above normal across much of the bay area the next couple of days.

we are continuing to track what was a major hurricane. hurricane simon now downgraded from the category 3 storm to 1. winds right now at 75 miles per hour. it will weaken into the tropical storm tomorrow. it will bring some moisture to parts of southern california and also arizona as we head towards midweek. our forecast animation back in the bay area, coastal clouds early on monday morning. they'll pull back. tons of sunshine across much of the bay area. a light sea breeze, but inland spots still dealing with 90 degree temperatures. widespread in our highs tomorrow because of the sea breeze. 61 in san francisco. 59 the low in palo alto. if you're headed to at&t tomorrow, game time as not been announced yet. but the afternoon temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s. it will be a warm but sunny game. highs for your monday across the bay area, 89 in san jose.
