happening now, san francisco police investigating a bomb threat at an elementary school where we just received word students are being sent home for the day. jose ortego elementary school evacuated since 8:00 this morning when a bomb threat was found. kids have been waiting in their classmates and teachers while officers searched the campus. they made automated calls to alert the parents. in the past half hour the district decided to send the students home for the day while the investigation continues. good news/bad news in the battle against ebola. the first u.s. patient, american doctor, has been released from the hospital after tests showed he did not have the virus. meanwhile, a new patient, an american journalist, arrived in the u.s. to begin treatment in another is struggling to survive. abc's elizabeth herr has more. >> reporter: ash comukpo is back home flown overnight in liberia

landing in nebraska this morning. mukpo, transferred to an isolation ward in this center where he will begin treatment for ebola. his family expressing relief. quite a contrast to the family of thomas eric duncan in dplas whose fear and frustration are growing as they question the care and treatment he's received as his condition deteriorates. >> the medicine that they gave the other americans that came from africa two days ago, that is the same medicine that the americans, they are doing a lot -- >> reporter: the cdc says they are out of the experimental drug and testing it with duncan could make him sicker. >> the drug pipeline is going to be slow, i'm afraid. the most promising drug out there, there's no more of it and it's hard to make. >> reporter: duncan is now in critical condition on a ve ventilator and on a dialysis machine.

new video this morning from southern california. take a look. an unforgettable marriage proposal for all the wrong reasons. a couple on a hot air balloon ride went off course leading to a dramatic rescue in san diego county. the balloon went into the water off the coast of cardiff. a witness captured the incident with a cellphone camera last night. the newly engaged couple managed to jump out so they really took the plunge in their relationship. pilot stayed inside while they went ashore. we only joke because nobody was hurt. >> that is good. drakes bay oyster company reached an agreement to keep the restaurant open until the end of this year. but then it will close for good. the department of the interior had ordered them to shut down to

>> sure. i'm thinking giants' names. >> make sure you're wearing the sunscreen when you're sweeping around the nationals this afternoon because it's going to be a bright one out there. let's work our way through it though. first, the golden gate bridge. i bet some of our commutes were different this morning than last friday with that thick fog and west wind around ten miles per hour. the temperature right now is 58 degrees. walnut creek, you're going up a degree. pacifica, you're staying the same. the minimal marine layer, we'll drop some of our temperatures three to possibly seven degrees. we're still well above average. still pretty much light and variable winds except right at the golden gate along the coast. that's where we have the onshore flow. that's where the clouds are going to stay. once you get south, half-moon bay, look at the sunshine as you head towards santa cruz. gorgeous day there at the boardwalk. looking across, you can see from the east bay hills. haze out there but it is not a spare of the air day. one of the warmest spots, into

the valley, you know the mid 90 are coming. 56, christi, look at ocean beach. 56. the mission district at 71 degrees. financial district, about 66. a lot of 60s along the east bay shore but most of us up to 70s. already 83. you can see the cloud cover. right there that finger of fog rolling through. most of it is going to stay at the coast. that's why you saw your big drop yesterday and why you will be steady today while the rest of us will see the cooling spread across the bay. slowly work inland. by thursday, we've got another heat wave coming. i don't think it will quite as hot as the one we just dealt with. you see very light onshore sea breeze during the afternoon. it's going to be too late to cut down the temperatures much today. notice tomorrow afternoon, 5:00, a little more in the way of a stout breeze blowing in. that's why temperatures will start to cool inland.
