i ram -- rammed into something and everybody went flying. >> is it was like he backed into the fourth pole right there. >> passengers sent flying. 10 people hurt after a ferry boat accident in the bay. good evening. i'm katie. it happened at pier41 in san francisco where the waterfront was packed with people attending fleet week. abc7 news reporter lilian kim is there now live with the details. lilian? >> katie, you can't tell by looking at it, but this is the boat involved in the accident. last we heard the crew was getting tested for drugs and alcohol. it is part of the coast guard's investigation. one by one they were wheeled away. 10 people in all injured when the ferry boat backed into a fixed piling. >> i kind of saw it coming. a lot of people didn't. i hit

the pylon and i saw kids fly and it was pretty bad. >> it is owned by san francisco bay ferry and operated by the blue and gold fleet and carrying 230 passengers and heading to eke land when it hit a pylon. he was at the bar and hurt his arm. >> i fell against the edge of the counter. i think i got a good bruise out of it. >> it is unclear why the boat backed into a fixed object. the coast guard ruled out anything mechanical. they are now investigating the crew. witnesses say the boat sideswiped one piling before it backed into the second. >> i saw it hit the first thing over here and over corrected and then backed into the other one. >> the passenger's injuries were described as minor to moderate and mostly neck and back pain. most were taken to hospital for observation. his wife and nephew were among those transported. >> he had a gash over his eyes. the people have come forthwith apologies and they are trying

to do everything they can. >> it sustained only minor paint damage. it has been given the all clear to operate. lilian kim, abc7 news. >> one man is dead and the other at the hospital after the two were swept into the ocean. it happened before 12:30 at rodeo beach in marin county. sergio is live on yerba buena island with more on what happened. >> because there were so many people out in the bay to watch the blue angels show and so many people out at the area beaches because it was so warm there were a lot of emergency crews out and they responded quickly to calls to emergencies at rodeo beach. one man of a possible sneaker wave, they were not fast enough. coast guard crews were dispatched on the water and marin county and national park service crews were sent on the ground. someone on the marine band radio channel called for help jie. we heard a distress call

about fishermen swept into the water near southern rodeo beach. >> southern marin fire crews were able to get to one of the men and he managed to make it back to shore and he was hanging on to the rocks. he was taken to a marin county hospital. coast guard crews found the second man. >> that person was found unresponsive in the water. we got him on board and started cpr and brought him to shore. >> unfortunately he was pronounced dead by paramedics on shore. a high surf advisory was issued this weekend. it is something they repeated after the death. >> one of the things people should be prepared for at this time of year is the sneaker waves are much more common starting now all the way through the winter. >> it is always good to have a plan and let somebody know where you are going and when you will be back in case something happens. >> crews were called out after hearing three people were swept out to the ocean. the third person was a surfer and not part of any kind of emergency. abc7 news.

let's head out to our meteorologist for a check of the weather and a live check on live doppler hd. >> it is causing the swells to be about 13 feet high. live doppler 7hd is showing a tranquil picture. the beach hazard has been in affect for the strong rip currents and the sneaker waves that have proven to be deadly. the good news is the waves will start to back down thanks to a cold front moving in from the west. that cold front will bring us first clouds and then a chance of rain on tuesday. and this is not the only chance of rain we will have on the seven-day forecast. we will have the accu-weather details. >> thank you. now to new developments on the ebola virus. a health care worker who treated an ebola patient in the u.s. has now tested positive for the virus. abc news reporter marcy gonzalez has the details on the investigation into how she may have contracted the disease. >> tonight health officials in dallas are trying to figure

out how a nurse contracted ebola. she did treat thomas eric duncun who died of the virus, but hospital management claimed she followed cdc guidelines and wore full protective gear. >> it is concerning. >> the nurse in her 20s started having symptoms on friday night and drove herself to dallas health presbyterian hospital and within 90 minutes she was in isolation later testing positive for the virus. they are working fast to figure out who the nurse has been in close contact with since she started feeling sick. one person already in isolation as a precaution. hazmat crews decontaminate her home and apartment complex and word goes out to neighbors in person and by phone. >> please be advised that a person in your area tested positive for the ebola virus. >> officials are urging calm saying the community is not at risk. still the cdc says they are bracing for the possibility

that other health care workers may also be infected. >> unfor the -- unfortunately it is possible that we will see additional cases of ebola. >> the nearly 50 people believed to have had contact with thomas eric duncun before he was hospitalized are still being monitored and still have not shown sign of symptoms. marcy gonzalez, abc news, dallas. president obama was briefed this morning on the second case eve bow law in the u.s. -- case of ebola in the u.s. he asked them to investigate immediately the procedures at the hospital. nurses in the bay area are upset over what they say is a lack of guidelines and safety measures in the treatment of ebola. they took their concerns public today outside kaiser permanente medical center in oakland. >> we think every nurse should be treated the same and given the same personal protections that the nurses and the health care providers are given in

emery and in nebraska. >> they want hands on training and proper protection for providers exposed to ebola. they are are fully prepared to treat patients and providing the utmost protection for workers. a scare for people on board a plane to l.a.x. one passenger was sick on a flight from jfk and there was concern that person may have ebola. the plane was taken to a remote area of the airport, but now they believe the woman had air sickness and there was no link to ebola. developing news in solano county. a bicyclist has died after being hit by a vehicle on interstate 80 in vacaville. it happened in the westbound lanes a little less than an hour ago. the highway patrol has closed three of the four lanes at the scene of the deadly crash. no word at this time on when the lanes would reopen. oh so close yet still so far away. a tough night for giants fans

clear skies overhead. it is a quiet picture. we will take you outside. from our tower cam i will move out of the shot and i can see city hall decked out in orange for the giants. we have the clear skies overhead and the sunshine definitely warmed us up nicely in the afternoon. look at highs versus normal. anywhere from say 10 to 20 degrees above normal. there was a new record at 95 degrees. typically they should be at 74 degrees on this date in october. still mild out there. the air over us is still well above normal. 69 in san francisco right now. 68 in mountain view. we will duplicate that number in san jose and hayward holding on to a reading of 70 degrees. we'll take you to the rooftop camera. it is glowing in orange. our fore cay calls for the clear -- our forecast calls for clear, fair skies. and then it is back to reality thanks to a cold front ushering in cool are air and light showers tuesday into wednesday.

satellite-radar will show you there is a void of cloud cover over much of california and the pacific ocean. the reason high pressure is in control is it is bringing a dry north, northeasterly wind and it will bring a main feature for weather. another warm day on the way. changes are waiting in the wings. look at this cold front. it will get rid of the warm temperatures and bring back the clouds and a chance for rain as early as tuesday afternoon. so our forecast animation shows you tomorrow morning still under the influence of the offshore wind. it is keeping us clear and on the warm side. another warm afternoon on monday with tons of sunshine and temperatures 10 to 15 dries above -- 10 to 15 degrees above normal. then the winds come on shore. it will cool us off and bring back a chance of rain. the cold front will slide through here on tuesday and bring us lingering showers by wednesday morning. your morning rush tomorrow look at this. the only forecast fly in the ointment is bad sun glare. sunshine as the sunrises at
