ebola is steadily growing louder. three public schools in texas and two in ohio will be closed today. >> students and a staff member at those schools were on the same plane as amber vinson. the nurse who flew one day before getting diagnosed with the virus. and now the response to the entire situation is under scrutiny after a slew of shortcomings has unfolded. >> we have live team coverage on ebola in america. tahman bradley standing by with the newest details at the white house. we begin with john ehrlichmann in dallas. good morning to you, john. >> reporter: good morning. now that you have two people who have contracted ebola at this hospital, health officials are stepping up their efforts to contain the virus. amber joy vinson walked off the plane last night after hitching a ride aboard this high-tech biocontainment plane. arriving at emory university hospital. now in isolation. the 29-year-old is the second dallas nurse to catch ebola after treating thomas eric

duncan, a liberian man, who died there last week. the associated press reporting she had close contact with duncan. inserting catheters and drawing blood. especially troubling, vinson flew to cleveland to visit family, then back to dallas before she knew she had the disease. the cdc admitting it erred, giving vinson permission to fly despite reporting a heightened temperature of 99.5 degrees. but lower than the 100.4 that the cdc classifies as a fever. >> she should not have traveled on a commercial airline. >> reporter: and even though the cdc maintains the level of risk to the 132 passengers around vinson is extremely low, air travels, in general, are uneasy. >> it's making you wonder, is it safe to even get on any of these planes going, you know, anywhere? >> reporter: meanwhile, another of duncan's nurses, nina pham, remains at this texas hospital. her condition continuing to improve. health officials there investigating how the two became infected.

that number expected to climb. >> this month has been a nightmare for nurses across the nation. >> reporter: an associated press review of duncan's medical records reveal he had been in the hospital for two days before medical staff treating him switched to hazmat suits. as health officials continue to monitor the travel of people who may have had exposure to ebola, we have seen city workers knocking on the doors of amber vinson's neighbors to really get the word out to everybody in the community. >> what about the commercial plane she was on. what's to come of it? >> reporter: we know that it is in denver at the international airport there. it has been cleaned three times. will go through a fourth cleaning process where they'll remove the seat cover and the carpeting around where she was sitting. and we also know according a statement from frontier airlines that the crew is on a paid leave now for 21 days. reena and t.j. >> john, live in dallas. thank you so much this morning. questions about how ebola is

being handled putting pressure on the cdc and the white house this morning. >> president obama is re-arranging his schedule once again today to try get ahead of the crisis. abc's tahman bradley live in washington with that part of the story. hello to you. >> reporter: hello. after the second nurse tested positive for ebola, president obama brought together his team to come up with a more aggressive response to the disease. and today at the white house, more emergency meetings. proum president obama again today canceled political events outside washington so he can oversee the government's response to ebola. yesterday the president huddled behind closed doors with his cabinet. >> we are monitoring, supervising, overseeing in a much more aggressive way exactly what's taking place in dallas initially and making sure the lessons learned are then transmitted to hospitals and clinics across the country. >> reporter: mr. obama ordered the cdc to deploy medical s.w.a.t. teams within 24 hours to any hospital reporting a new case of ebola. this in addition to screening of passengers at airports.

but the country is nervous. according to a new abc news/washington post poll, 65% of americans are concerned about an epidemic. the president tried to reassure the public. >> i want to use myself as an example. i shook hands with, hugged and kissed not the doctors, but a couple of the nurses, at emory. and i felt perfectly safe. >> reporter: more and more law makers are calling for the president to institute a travel ban to and from west africa. in a statement, house speaker john boehner said, "a temporary ban on travel to the united states from countries afflicted with the virus is something that the president should absolutely consider. along with any other appropriate actions as doubts about the security of air travel systems grow." today on capitol hill, a senior executive from the hospital where ebola patient thomas eric duncan died plans to apologize

story this morning. the latest on ebola in america. amber vinson, the second nurse diagnosed is now being treated at emory university hospital in atlanta. >> the frontier airlines plane she travelled on the day before showing symptoms is being decontamina decontaminated. president obama has canceled plans to travel today in order to monitor the situation. >> we have learned that dr. kent brantly, who survived, has not been asked to donate to amber vinson. >> he donated to nina pham and others, but not to thomas eric duncan because they were incompatible. dr. richard besser asked him about his helping in this situation. >> it's a small thing to give some blood that may benefit in saving someone else's life. >> do you think it works? >> i think it's not harmful.

is live doppler hd with great news in the morning commute is going to be dry. we have a lot of cloud cover, no doubt, but it is high clouds. look at the embarcadero center this morning, with the orange lights up in honor of the giants and high clouds and sunshine and dry and temperatures are close to yesterday low-to-mid 60's and around most of the coast in san francisco and the bay at 67 to 72 and inland is 70 to 75. and the morning commute? leyla gulen? >> it is dry. everything is moving along fine. we will look at this, our drive coming into the bay bridge so no problems and generally a lot of green on our roads as we continue through the rest of the bay area with the exception of the altamont pass, eastbound direction, we are seeing slowing there. here is a look at drive time traffic westbound on 580, tracy to dublin is 24 minutes and westbound highway 4 antioch to concord is 14 minutes and san rafael to san francisco is 17 minutes.
