trailing 4-3 in the eighth, michael morse launched the home run to left to tie the game. in the bottom of the ninth, ishikawa smoked a three-run homer to right field off wacha. the giants won 6-3 to take home the national league pennant. >> as soon as i hit it, i knew the game was over. as i was coming close to the bag, if this gets out, it's going to be incredible. i saw it sneak over. after that, i don't remember anything else after that. >> that's why you can't try to predict the games. you never know what's going to happen. this is a crazy game we play. >> that gentleman, madison bumgarner, was named the national championship series mvp. the giants take on the kansas city royals in the world series. game one is tuesday night in kansas city. >> fans went wild, as you would expect. the stadium erupted in cheers, car horns blared, fireworks exploded over at&t park. tens of thousands of fans packed in the ballpark there, of

course, all decked out in orange and black. the die hard superstitious wore lucky items of clothing and the game put people on the edge of their seats. >> i waited 16 years for this. [ cheers and applause ] >> giants' pitcher tim hudson celebrating with the team in the locker room after the game. this is the first time hudson has advanced past the division series in the postseason in his 16-year major league career. he previously played for the a's and the atlanta braves. >> well, last night crowds of people celebrated in san francisco's mission district. they blocked the sidewalks and the streets. you can see the heavy police presentation in the video. some fans even set off fireworks. there were no major issues in the mission, but there was a fight between a group of people near the ballpark at fourth and channel streets about 10:00 last night. police say a gunshot was fired, but nobody was hit.

one person was taken to the hospital with a broken nose. everyone involved, except for that victim, ran from the scene. take a look at this, the front page of today's "san francisco chronicle." it says, "giants walk off to the world series." so here is the series schedule. game one is next tuesday, october 21st, in kansas city. game two will be next wednesday, october 22nd, also in kc, then the series shifts to san francisco. game three, friday, october 24th at at&t park. game four, saturday the 25th, and game five would be played on sunday the 26th at at&t park if necessary. first pitch for all the games is at 5:07 p.m. today's the 25th anniversary of the loma prieta earthquake, and the city of santa cruz is marking the occasion by looking back at the tragedy and looking forward to being better prepared. abc 7 news reporter matt keller is live in santa cruz with more on today's event.

matt? >> reporter: katie, it's been 25 years, but this part of downtown santa cruz has yet to be rebuilt. it's the only lot in downtown santa cruz that remains empty. it was the santa cruz coffee roasting company. two people died here. now there are plans to mix retail and residential units. downtown santa cruz was devastated by the 15 seconds of shaking. the epicenter was ten miles northeast of santa cruz. heavy damage to the unre-enforced masonry buildings through the downtown area. here's an interview with a man that october and what he experienced. well, millions of people across california, including in san francisco and san jose, took part in the great california shakeout yesterday, a reminder we live in earthquake country and preparation is key. later this morning here at memorial plaza at the corner of front street and pacific avenue, a 25th anniversary commemoration of the loma prieta quake will be held here. they'll talk about the tragedy

and the recovery and how santa cruz is preparing for the next big one. reporting live in santa cruz, matt keller, abc 7 news. >> matt, thank you very much. the sonoma county sheriff's office is looking for two suspects that shot a man during a home invasion in santa rosa 2:30 yesterday afternoon. deputies say both suspects wore clothing that say fbi on them. it's not clear if they stole anything, but investigators think they may have been after marijuana. the shooting victim had to have surgery. they are considered armed and dangerous. developing news in the ebola crisis. an infected nurse has been moved to a new facility and we're hearing from her in a youtube video. also, new concerns about the spread of the disease on a cruise ship. abc 7 news reporter nick smith is live in the newsroom this morning with the latest. nick? >> reporter: good morning. the first nurse to test positive with the ebola virus arrived in maryland thursday evening on a chartered flight from dallas

headed for treatment at a federal hospital in maryland. nina pham can be heard in this video saying she is doing really well. she left texas health presbyterian hospital and arrived in bethesda last night. pham walked off the plane with assistance while wearing a protective suit. this morning an uncle of the second ebola victim, amber vinson, spoke with "gma" about the 29-year-old nurse and her decision to fly home after treating ebola patient thomas eric duncan. >> you know, amber is one of the most conscientious individuals i know, and she's certainly would not have done anything to put the other passengers on that plane or her family at risk. >> reporter: get this, as those two nurses work on their recovery, new concerns that a dallas health care worker who handled clinical specimens from duncan is on a carnival magic cruise ship in the caribbean. carnival cruise line confirms to abc news the health worker is

starting off fairly clear this morning. leyla? >> relatively quiet this morning as far as accidents are concerned, but we do have one new one that just popped up. that in a second. first a look at the toll plaza before you get to the bridge, wide open spaces there, no problems, but we do have a brand new crash southbound along 680, as a matter of fact, right at highway 84. it's over to the shoulder, so it's not blocking any lanes. we do have plenty of areas of construction across the bay area. in fact, this one along the peninsula eastbound side of highway 84, we will have left lanes blocked until about 6:00 this morning, so watch out for the cone zone there. katie, eric, over to you. >> leyla, thank you. this morning, giants fans are still celebrating last night's dramatic home run in the bottom of the ninth, propelling the giants to the world series for the third time in four years. >> travis ishikawa picked one into right! the giants win the pennant!

>> left fielder travis ishikawa launched the three-run shot off michael wacha, giving the giants a 6-3 win over the cardinals in game five of the national league championship series. madison bumgarner was named the nlcs mvp, and the giants will face the american league champion kansas city royals in the world series. this, of course, making for a beautiful morning in san francisco. last night's win sending the g-men to the world series, the city by the bay glowing with orange pride, as is abc 7 reporter amy hollyfield live for us at graphic sportswear in san francisco. what's happening there? >> reporter: well, they are very busy here, katie, making these! how cool is that? we own the pennant. here is a finished product, but they are not done. here is the process right behind me. here's the long-sleeved t-shirts, without any color, then over here where they get the beautiful orange applied to

them. this team has been busy. they worked through the night. they are going to make 25,000 of these t-shirts. they all came straight to work right when they heard this. the giants won the game. you could hear the crowd throughout the city streets, maybe even across the bay over to oakland. it was loud and exciting. the team made the fans wait until the bitter end for this moment. it was the bottom of the ninth when the home run was hit. then you could hear all the joy and relief. >> it was incredible. so glad to be here. >> this is wonderful! >> it's awesome! go giants! >> oh, my god! >> what a game, what a game! >> loss for words. >> reporter: giants ceo larry bayer even mentioned the fans as he received the trophy last night. he talked about how they are the greatest fans in baseball and the team also mentioning them in their interviews last night,

overnight. a dallas health care worker who handled a lab specimen from the liberian man is self quarantined on a cruise. in the bay area, health experts are establishing strict protocols to deal with ebola beginning with first responders. bay area health experts are establishing, as we mentioned, strict protocols. paramedics for medic ambulance service in solano county are now prepared for any patient who tells 911 operators they traveled to west africa in the past 21 days. first responders say sometimes they don't know what they are getting into. >> unknown. that's the scariest part for us, we go into houses every day that we don't know. >> the bay area, solano county, are all, you know, at some risk of having a case of ebola, and, you know, we all need to be

covering walnut creek, burlingame, campbell, and all the bay area, this is abc 7 news. >> welcome back. today the oakland coliseum board is expected to name a former republican lawmaker as its new executive director. guy houston will become the first permanent director of the coliseum authority in five years. our media partner, the oakland tribune, reports the board is also looking at plans to boost its power to keep the a's and raiders and build new stadiums. one plan is to ask for the help of high profile consultant robert bob, who helped secure a new baseball stadium for the washington nationals after the team relocated from montreal. bob is a former oakland city administrator who pushed for a downtown stadium for the a's before being ousted in 2003 by former mayor jerry brown. the family of a stockton mother killed in a shootout says gunfire from officers was excessive.

the robbers took misty singh hostage at bank of the west in july, they used her as a human shield in a shootout that followed a police chase. her family's lawyer saying police knew there was a hostage and should have waited before firing indiscriminately at the get away car. singh's husband says their family is still grieving. >> they say with time things are going to heal, but for this family, it hasn't. we continue to live the nightmare. the pain is still there. >> the family has not decided if they'll sue the city of stockton or bank of the west, which was robbed several times in recent years. in the battle for the right to play on san francisco's soccer fields, chock up one for the kids. adults confronting kids in a pickup game. the workers reserved and paid for the field through the

this weekend, better chance of measurable rain monday. as far as today's temperature, fairly uniformed, 68 santa cruz, one of the cool spots. low to mid 70s also on the peninsula with mid 60s along the coast, all the way up to the sunset at 66. we'll be near 70 downtown, south san francisco, sausalito 68, but mid 60s along the north bay coast with low 70s through the north bay valley. low to mid 70s along the east bay shore. pretty much dominated by mid 70s in our neighborhoods. for tonight, 40s are gone, 50s with cloud cover. best chance of rain during the overnight hours will be along the coast and out over the ocean, where we're going to have greater instability. some of those may stray inland. it's not going to be a solid shield of rain that's going to cover us. friday morning, you can see the cloud cover. look towards 4:00 and 5:00. that's when some of the showers start to come ashore up across the north bay. through the evening hours,
