>> good saturday morning. thanks for joining us. i'm matt keller. we are going to start with a quick look at the weather. here's meteorologist lisa argen. hi, lisa. >> hi there, matt. good morning to you. live doppler 7hd shows clouds banked i am along the coast and we have a weak front that's fizzling offshore that could incidents gate a stray shower or more than likely mist and drizzle along the peninsula and the north bay perhaps. you look from the tower camera, very little in the way of clouds. temperatures mild. it's moving mugdy. low 60s in santa rosa. this is much warmer than yesterday. within the next couple of hours, here's the clouds, there's the front. is kind of fizzles. ask by 11:00 we have plenty of sunshine. temperatures in the 60s and

70s. >> thank you, lisa. we begin with breaking news in san jose. one person is dead and another injured following a solo vehicle accident. it happened last night. police say a car crossed all lanes of traffic and crashed into a cement sign, trapping two people inside. male driver died at the scene. a woman was taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries. no word on what caused the accident. a man is under arrest after being caught on camera preying on children just feet from they're parents. he was arrested after there was video of him leaving the store where the alleged gropings happened. we have the story from san leandro. >> i have a little brother. kind of bothers me. >> knowing he has a kid, too, is disturbing. you know what i mean? >> he wanted to go to the police

academy. he wanted to become a cop. >> kaitlin is equally as shocked as her neighbors. the only difference is she's the fiancee of 20-year-old christopher german who is now charged with two acts of lewd acts with children. >> he didn't tell me if he did it or not. he just said he's sorry he's putting me through it. >> but there is a strong case that he groped this girl at the wal-mart. less than 30 minutes later he entered target where he groped another girl under ten years of age. wright said she spoke with one girl's mother. >> i cried and told her that i was so sorry and that i don't know what happened or why it happened. >> the couple and their one-year-old son moved from southern california to live with wright's grandmother in san leandro, less than a block from jefferson elementary school. >> i feel like he is somebody that i don't know. i feel ashamed that he's done this or possibly did this.

epsilon con temperatures sexual violence in the strongest possible terms. this is not the only few ternty under correction. u.s. police sent out another crime alert. a member at theta delta chi said he was sexually assaulted by a brother. the city police department is taking over the investigation. >> we don't have any confirmed reports or no one victims or reporting parties at this time. >> i am a bit surprised. >> a sexual assault survivor and advocate said a big problem in the past has been confusion works to report is crime and who to turn to. >> it was a huge issue, is it on campus, is it off-campus, who do i contact, if it take place between two students, can i still go to school. >> in berkeley, alyssa harrington, abc7 news. >> a 20-year-old was charged with one count of rape by use of drugs but yesterday the charge

was dropped after reviewing the evidence and interviews the alleged victim. this morning a highway patrol charges is facing child pornography charges. the 49-year-old eric lund was arrested. chp issued a statement saying the alleged conduct of this employee does not reflect the values, hard work and dedication of the chp. new details this morning, an antioch rapper has been charged with a fatal shoot are of a man in oakland. 30-year-old billy c schaefer junior went by the stage name "wild bill" was charged in the october 1st killing of connie outside a lounge. against surveillance video leads to his arrest. he's being held out bail in oakland. returning to ebola in america, the president has named a new ebola response

coordinator. ron klain has been appointed. he will report to homeland security and national security advisors. the first dallas nurse to be diagnosed with ebola remains fair condition. the 26-year-old was transferred to the national institute of health in misdemeanor on thursday. her dog, bentley, is being monitored at the texas a&m at the college of veterinarian medicine. the dog is not sick but precautions are taken since the dog was exposed to ebola. the cdc said there have been no transmission of the transmission between humans and dogs, including in africa. president obama said the united states can't just cut itself off from west africa, even though ebola is raging there. he's pushing back against calls of issuing a travel band. he said trial to seal off part of the world is impossible and

present valuables to be blessed. one lost $80,000 in cash and $40,000 would recollect of jewelry. a gruesome discovery in humboldt county. authorities found the body of a man eaten by a blake bear. the remains of 65-year-old marion williams were discovered by his trailer about 75 miles west of humboldt. they said the bear did not kill him, he likely died of a heart attack before he was found by the bear. goo as world series fever hits the bay area, bart is planning to ramp up service. bart officials say they expect record-setting crowds next week. on thursday more than 462,000 people road bart. that's the fourth largest crowd ever as fans headed to at&t park. in preparation for the crowds bart will be adding extra cars and more trains on game day. >> giants outfielder hunter pence inspires his teammates and apparently the internet. >> we ain't done yet, boys. we are burning!

a commemorative bell was raining to mark the moment the whole bay area started shaking exactly 25 years ago. then a moment of silence honoring the 63 people who were killed. marinea district supervisor fenway park farrell was heading home from high school football practice that afternoon. >> sure enough, the earthquake started to happen and we thought it was no big deal until we got back to the marina district. >> massive fires were triggered and entire buildings collapsed on to the streets. south of market, marriott marquis manager chris sullivan was on the 18th floor of the brand any hotel when the quake hit. >> you could see the bay bridge. we had a full view of the bay bridge. you could actually see that going up and down. >> the violent shaking caused a 50-foot chunk of the bridge to collapse n oakland huge sections of the cyprus freeing pancaked into a pile of concrete and steal. and the new hotel had just opened that morning.

temperatures are quite mild to figure guy in some parts of bay. east bay hills camera and you will notice that he warren joying a clear shot here. oakland 56. 59 san carlos. low 60s half moon bay. 63 in san francisco. it's 65 at the airport. pretty mild, and from our sutro tower camera not much in the way of clouds. in fact once the front continues to fizzel and get closer to the coast, it will mix things out even further. we will see a pretty nice-looking day. 55 in petaluma, 56 in concord, and still in the low 60s up in santa rosa. so anywhere from about three to 14 degrees warmer than yesterday at this time. i certainly noticed it coming outside this morning going to work so you pay, as well. by the afternoon temperatures will be quite comfortable. within a couple degrees of what we had yesterday the exploratorium camera, partly cloudy skies. there's a chance of an isolated

shower, but for the most part we will remain dry and look for a mild day today. in fact, the weekend looking pleasant. the next system coming our way on monday. here's a look at what's going on right now. you can see all the moisture. all of a sudden it just kind of fizzles and that will be the case as it continues to get closer t washes out. we will take you through the next couple of days. after a nice mild weekend, you will see the front, another one offshore by late sunday night. there it is. and as we go through monday morning, looks like we could see a better cans of showers from the north coast. marin county. and then by about noon notice we could see a few scattered showers into the santa cruz mountains. that's how it looks now. amounts still looking light but we are watching anna in the pacific. this has already begun to move away from the big island and the island chain. so right any with the category 1, this is continuing to move to the northwest 170 miles to the southwest of kona, the big

bay. we will have the details coming up. >> thanks, lisa a pittsburgh man went from an accused white collar criminal to a multiple hit man suspect. charles waldo has been charged with dozens of crimes, but nothing violent until now. abc7 news reporter laura anthony has more. >> before it was 40 years tops, now 20 to life. >> already facing multiple counts. he has now been indicted for soliciting nine murders for hire while locked up at the martinez jail. >> there were two witnesses, charles waldo approached them, one of them, solicited them and conspired with them to murder some of the witnesses of the original crimes. we found a document that was the hit list. it showed the ways they wanted

the different crimes done. >> according to the district attorney, the methods include staged car accidents, drug overdoses, and robberies that had, quote, gone bad. the original charges against waldo center around his four-year employment at the rapid recycle in martinez where he worked his way up to manager. among the many charges, insurance fraud, theft, and embezzlement of $100,000. and after he was fired, slashing the tires of company vehicles. >> mr. waldo had no reason to do what he's alleged to have done. >> howard williams represents the 38-year-old waldo. he says his client is really a brilliant businessman, who is often misunderstood. >> he's sort of a steve jobs like figure. a guy who is just such a natural businessman. such a natural go-getter. in the process, like steve jobs, he didn't make a lot of friends necessarily. >> waldoing is held here on

$1 million bail on those original 50 charges. he will be arraigned on the new murder-for-hire allegations later this month. in martinez, laura anthony, abc7 news. >>. memorial services have been scheduled for a fallen san jose fallen fire pilot. he was killed when his airplane clipped a tree and he died. a memorial service is planned for next tuesday at church on the hill on sandoval drive in san jose. happening today, the san francisco fire department will conduct a drill to better prepare for catastrophic events. fire didn't alongside volunteers from the neighborhood emergency response team, will practice search and rescue techniques, triaging injured victims, setting up commanders and other disaster response kills. more than 250 volunteers are expected to participate. today's drill take place from 8:30 to 3:00 at fort mason.

>> demonstrators say city officials are displacing people by selling out to developers. they are calling for a moratorium on evictions until the housing needs of the poor are met. the march begins today at noon. here's what it was like for thousands of commuters who crossed the bay bridge yesterday. not this. traffic was backed up, though, for miles in every direction. the problem two steal plates across the three left lanes on the san francisco side of the bridge. caltrans is replacing a number of expansion giants but the temporary plates they used to cover the work acted like speed bumps. the situation isn't likely to improve for a while. caltrans expects to be working on the bridge through december. a life-long giants fan has a new souvenir after swapping a baseball for a bat with the slugger who propelled the team into the world series.

you know what that means. it's probably an anemic chance, right? here's a look at the seven-day outlook. you know, the rain that we talked of the past week didn't amount to much. the north bay communities did see a little more. this morning there's a front that sets offshore. you can see a little bit here in echoes. you know what? it's not going to make it very far closer to the peninsula. in fact, we could see some mist and drizzle. there was a chance, we had a chance of showers in the extreme north bay. you see that still might be the case. but more likely you will be dry and everyone will be mild this afternoon. but we will be looking at monday could get a little interesting around here. east bay hills camera, 63 san francisco, 59 san carlos, low 50s in morgan hill. half moon bay a mile and a quarter visibility. and we are looking at a nice day there for the pumpkin festival. from our sutro tower camera, great visibility. 55 by the delta. partly cloudy in the concord at

56. mid-50s napa and low 60s santa rosa. look at the north bay anywhere from 9 to 14 degrees warmer than average. to the day. even inland just by about three or four degrees. it's kind of muggy out there. ask from our exploratorium camera, looking at partly to mostly cloudy skies. a mild, dry weekend were we are looking at the cab of rain coming our way. maybe a tenth to .2 on monday. here we are right now with the moisture dissipating. the front fizzling offshore. that will allow for a pretty nice weekend. so we will put the maps into motion and notice by sunday there's another system offshore, 10:00. notice it's just west of eureka. by monday morning we could see some wet weather from the north coast, marin county, and then through the 10:00, 11:00 hour perhaps into the east bay, the peninsula, the santa cruz mountain. and this too will wash out. high pressure builds behind it. here's hurricane ana which continues to move away from the
