slowing. >> 6:01 hatchippening today, ka tranc caltrans leaders expected to meet when thousands of passengers were backed up in every direction. drivers slowed down to go over two plates that had been installed as part of a bridge maintenance project. after friday's back-up, caltrans halted the project and removed the plate over the weekend. >> our reporter will have a full report coming up in the next half hour. >> well, the traffic is going smoothly on the lower deck of the bay bridge following an unusual accident. a truck got stuck after trying to take the treasure island exit. it is an extremely tight hair pin turn and signs warn truckers not to use it. it snarled traffic on the lower

deck for almost two hours . this morning ibm's $1.5 billion deal is official. big blue is getting out of the chip news. >> reporter: one of the things we've learned in a statement acquired by abc 7 news is most of those employees will keep their jobs. that deal was made with santa clara based chip maker global foundries who will acquire the chip side of the business while ibm focuses on increasing revenue and new technologies. ibm announced the deal to acquire their micro electronics business athe company continues to transition toward enterprise market and tech research. the deal gives them access to thousands of semi conductor patents as well as ibm operations in other states under the agreement ibm will make payments to the chip processor

not spread through causal contact. this morning we have proof. 43 of the people who had contact with thomas eric duncan before he was hospitalized had been given the all clear. >> this morning, a huge sigh of relief in dallas. health officials say the first group of people quarantined and monitors after contact with ebola patient tem homas eric dun are no longer at list. 43 people in all. >> after someo21 days of being that watch list there's no chance that anyone carries the virus. >> a dallas supervisor who handled samples of duncan tested negative but not after a huge scare. 3,600 passengers were onboard. although the labor supervisor didn't show symptoms, she was quarantined for days.

picture from our south beach camera, traffic is moving okay this hour but on mondfriday it a much different story. our abc 7 news reporter alyssa herri herrington is live to make sure this congestion doesn't come back. >> reporter: i can tell you it took me 45 minutes just to get across the bay bridge alone. engineers need to complete their work so caltrans officials are meeting today to talk about the next steps but for now the project is on hold. over the weekend the plates were removed. the plates spread across the left lanes of traffic on the western span of the bay bridge. they were meant to cover up the work but instead were more like speed bumps. drivers slowed way down to get over them. what they need do is replace some bolts to deal with cracks and other wear and tear on the
