at vermont and 22nd. good morning, crews are on the scene shoveling up mud. this is a very old pipe, 117-year-old, cast iron, and they think that able is the reason its burst at 3:00 a.m. up the hill on 22nd and vermont. this is next to san francisco general hospital which lost water for almost an hour but it did not impact operations. the water main broke at 3:00 this morning and it has been capped. there is still a lot of mud but in reports of major damage. there is a lot whole in the ground where the 12" pipe burst. crews are on the scene asession the damage and will need to dig up the road to make repairs. 22 were street between san bruno and vermont is closed to traffic
