a sonoma county sheriff department raided a duck farm on allegations of abuse and neglect. >> the shocking video that lead to today's raid. good evening. i'm ama dates. >> and i'm larry beil. dan ashley has the night off. this case began after an activist got a job there this summer and brought in a hidden camera. >> she turned over the video to the authorities and to i team reporter dan noyes. he is here with an investigation you will see only on abc7 news. >> if you ordered duck at a local restaurant or seen them hanging in a chinatown storefront there is a good chance they came from this farm. it is the biggest in the state. a word of caution though. i will show you what the activists found. sonoma county sheriff investigators searched a duck

farm. animal control officers and vet raw veterinarians there to answer several questions. >> are they being harmed and not being taken care of and euthanatized? >> the farm has 200,000 to 300,000 ducks at any given time. the complaints of abuse and neglect come from this under cover activist who worked there for five weeks power washing the barnes. >> the things i saw were absolutely horrifying. they still haunt me to this day. i have frequent nightmares of the horrors i saw at this facility. >> she said the rough treatment starts from the moment the ducklings hatch. workers toss them by the handfuls and sear off part of their bills. otherwise they would cannibal lies each other because of the overcrowding. >> it actually melts the tip of their bills. they start squirming around and flashing and i can cking their feet -- kicking their feet to get away from the pain. >> as they grow they have

difficulty walking on the wire, mesh flooring. they are meant to spend their lives on the water. she found injured ducks every day with mall formed legs, feck, wings or beak and stuck in the mesh and left to die. some were trapped on the manure pile without food and water. she pointed out the injured ducks to the farm managers. >> it is okay. don't worry about it. they told me that repeatedly. >> when workers did take action they grabbed the injured ducks by their neck and spun them. not the industry form of euthanasia. they didn't have access to water. they drank from a small tube. the first time they dipped their heads in water this electrifing bath before workers slit their throats. i spoke with the director of investigations at mercy for animals at the west hollywood office. >> if these types of ways of

killing animals were done with cows and pigs, it would be a violation of federal law. >> rice explains the ducks and the chickens are not covered by the federal humane slaughter act. the complaint says that the law should apply. the letters from four veterinarians characterize the conditions as clearly inhumane and severe neglect and despicable cruelty. >> even in a factory farm it is a clear violation to deny animals access to food and water and proper veteranary care. that is what is done to tens of thousands. they should be held criminally accountable for it. >> one veterinarian who was allowed to participate in the raid said it was too short. they didn't see all of the buildings. she also wanted to take four injured ducks who could be helped and rehoned. she says the oner refused, ordering his workers to kill the ducks.

let's look at the videotape. it is his fifth homerun in five and two-third post innings. he hit the two-run shot in the sticks and then he began yelling at perez who doubled earlier and scored which lead to tense moments. no giants wanted to dwell on the incident so let's begin our locker room interviews with strickland who mostly would say he did not perform well and was frustrated with himself. >> there is no hard feelings toward anybody. >> what was it that set you off? >> the fifth homerun i have given up this post season. it is my frustration with myself. >> anything can happen in the game of baseball. there is no certainty at any point. that's the beauty. especially at this time of year in the world series anything can happen at any moment. enjoy the competition sometime there are days where you have to tip your hat.

when you can watch the world series on a house? these neighbors had the right idea when they projected the game on the side of the victorian and called it a party. >> everybody here is giants fans and everybody was getting excited. there are families and there is a good time. >> there were brawts on the grill and dogs wearing their giants hats. >> what do you think of the game. >> good. >> who will get a win? >> i think the giants. >> it didn't happen. somber fans watched the giants lose at the dolores corner bar. >> i am feeling really down, but hopeful. it is only one more and we will wipe the slate clean and try again. >> this was the crowd cheering after the giants scored. >> the giants win and we will go nuts. >> they were so convinced the giants would make it to the world series. they painted their windows and that was back in april. >> it was quite awhile ago.

america is apologizing for double billing customers who made purchases with apple pay. this new mobile pay service allows users to pay for merchandise at some 200,000 retailers across the country by using their fingerprint instead of swiping a credit card. the glitch involves about a thousand tran actions and those -- transactions and they will get their money refunded and they are working on a fix. >> people are not happy about being charged twice for goods. but this is something you can clear up. sometimes it is not that great to have people use a new service. >> apple has not yet disclosed exactly how many customers have used apple pay since it became vibl on monday. available on monday. >> the lone gunman who crippled canada's capitol. what we are learning about the gunman. >> plus, preparing for the worst. only on abc7 news, how one south bay hospital is getting ready for the deadly ebola virus. >> [bleep] your noise.

they sprinted across the lawn and made it into the white how. a gunman goes on a rampage killing a soldier and opening fire in parrel dash -- parliament in canada. a short time ago a lock down of the city was lifted and now we are learning more about the shooter. elizabeth herr is in ottawa tonight. >> reporter: this chaotic sen unfolding on wednesday morning. and a hail of gunfire. dozens of shots echoing through the will thats. >> we heard gunshot come up from there and ducking my head down the hall. we could smell it almost instantly. >> members of parliament huddled behind doors and the prime minister rushed to safety. the rampage finally ending when the sergeant at arms shot and killed the gunman. identified as 32-year-old canadian michael beboff. >> we will learn more about the terrorists and any

the u.s. from west ever africa will be monitored for 21 days and good news for a nurse diagnosed with ebola. they can no longer detect the virus in amber vinson. and the bay area is prepping forgetting an ebola case here. santa clara valley received a shipment of supplies to help protect workers ebola. it includes sk mas, gloves and protective gowns being sent to clinics. hospital officials say it is unlikely we will see a case of ebola here, but it is important to be prepared. >> a video taken in san francisco is blazing across the internet. katie is live in the newsroom to tell us why. >> the video shows a tour guide on a double decker red bus going on a racist rant through chinatown. >> you preschool and preschoolers making that noise at 6:00 in the morning when i was trying to live here. showers. taking a look from the sutro cam, there are lots of shades of orange for the giants. all we see as we look from our kgo roof cam is orange on the buildings. here are our temperatures. low 60s from san francisco and san carlos and san jose and half moon bay is 55 degrees. here is the view from our exploratorium camera. visibility is good. we have high clouds and upper 50s santa rosa and petaluma. currently 60 throughy in livermore. emeryville camera is looking out toward the bay. we are looking at high clouds right now. shower chance in the north bay. dry for world series game three. that's at least good news. rain to showers on saturday. when you look at the pacific satellite picture it is really a stormier scene over the pacific than it has been in days past. nice moisture stream here. cold, unstable air in several low-pressure systems lining up. the first cold front coming through will really keep its moisture targeted in the

pacific northwest. that's where the heaviest rain has been. the front brushes the north bay and the computer models come in with a chance of a few showers. ukiah a few showers are possible. the latest models are not as wet for the north bay. tomorrow you will be in the north bay and carry your umbrellas. as we head toward friday morning just a few clouds around. on on friday evening for that game three of the world series, it is dry and then things start to change. we get the rain moving in on saturday morning and the rain moves out and some showers move in. 8:00 p.m., and we are still looking at the showers continuing. a chance of showers for game four. there is a slight chance of thunderstorms in the north bay on saturday night. rainfall totals are not expected to be terribly heavy. if we do have wet weather for that game, hopefully they will be able to play. the temperatures tomorrow morning in the 50s. a lot of cloud cover and not as cool as tomorrow morning. tomorrow afternoon a lot of you will be like today.

looking at sun and high clouds. upper 60s to the upper 70s. a few low 60s around clear lake. cooler in santa rosa and that's where the best chance will be for seeing showers in the north bay. world series game three at&t park at 5:00 p.m., first pitch dropping to 62 and mild and partly cloudy here at home. the accu-weather seven-day forecast, rain on saturday, morning showers on sunday. if they do play a game five it is looking good on sunday. and then we do have chances of showers midweek again. i know it is not great news like i said for the weather on saturday, but anything can change. it is a little early. >> friday is good though. we know that. we willbank on that for the moment. unfortunately tonight's game especially from the bull pen perspective was rough. >> well, the royals are in the world series for a reason and they showed it tonight. giants took one off the chin tonight and the royals tie the series a game apiece. it was the big bomb and a 5-run 6th.

the nation tonight why they are in the world series taking advantage of the bull pen and winning game two convincingly. hunter strick land gave up five for the month. hunter pens and -- hunter pence and the giants were hoping to take a 2-0 commanding lead. first lead off world series homerun in giants history. but the royals answer. lorenzo cane sprints around third and we are tied at one. bottom of second and escobar goes the opposite way. royals take a 2-1 lead on an r.b.i double. g-men answer in the fourth.

what a game. belt smokes one over first. look at pablo coming around a third and races home and tied at two. now runners on second and third in the 6th for kc and the allstar catcher salvador perez with a gaper to left. royals up 5-2. the biggest blow off the bat of enfante. a two-run shot off strickland. they lead it 7-2. he has words with perez as hue crosses home. they would take issue with the giants' rookie. tim lincecum retired all five batters he faced, but he would leave the game after tweaking his back. he is day-to-day. the giants try to rally in the 9th. blanco bookends the game by striking out. giants lose and jake peavy gives up four runs over five innings. the series tied at 1 and heading back to san francisco for game three on friday. >> the toughest thing to do as a pitcher and you feel bad for putting the guys in that
