either to other individuals, perhaps other law enforcement officers. >> reporter: the attorney says the incident happened in august after the 23-year-old woman was pulled over on interstate 680. she was taken into custody for suspected dui and transported to the main jail in martinez. it's there that she alleged officer harrington transmitted news photos of the woman from her phone to his. >> he asked for her password in order to get a phone number to call somebody during that period of time. he went through her private photos. and transmitted as many as six photographs to his own private cell phone. >> if district attorney's office is deciding whether to press criminal charges against harrington. in the meantime, the 35-year-old officer has reportedly been taken off the street and put on desk duty. in martinez, laura anthony, abc 7 news. a san francisco city worker

was killed today right in front of the main entrance to city hall. the 67-year-old woman was in a crosswalk when she was hit by a cable car style tour bus. the vehicle then ran over her as she lay on the ground. the woman was taken to san francisco general hospital where sadly she later died. the mayor says the city recently approved installing a traffic light at the crosswalk because of pedestrian safety concerns. >> city hall is becoming more and more famous. a lot of people were coming in, and whether it's a sightseeing bus or tourist bus, we didn't want that, we wanted to lessen the chances of colliding. it didn't happen fast enough. >> the victim was a longtime employee of the controller's office. a woman leading a sight-seeing tour through san francisco's chinatown gave tourists a lot more than they bargained for. and now her racist rant is generating reaction that is reverberating all the way to city hall. abc 7 news reporter alisa harrington is live tonight in chinatown where a rally was just

held about this. >> reporter: they're rallying against that rant which has been viewed on youtube more than 300,000 times. community leaders are calling on the tourism industry to educate their guides about cultural sensitivity. >> nobody wears jade anymore. >> reporter: the two and a half-minute video shows a city sightseeing san francisco tour guide going on a profanity-laced rant while the double-decker bus passes through chinatown. >> your [ bleep ] laundry hanging out the window. >> the woman insults just about everything about chinatown. the food, parades, and the people. the video was posted on youtube tuesday. the description says it was the woman's last day on the job. supervisor david chu represents chinatown on the boozer. >> it is incredibly sad and disheartening that in 2014 someone would say such incredibly hurtful things. >> reporter: chu and other community leaders organized a rally, calling on better oversight in the tourism

industry and cultural sensitivity training. tour company ceo christian watts released a statement. he apologizes saying comments made by this former employee on her last day of employment are absolutely not a representation of how much we love and support chinatown. >> apologies aren't enough. >> reporter: sue lee with the chinese historical suit wants to know why the driver did not stop the woman. she would like to meet with company officials. >> i'd like some engagements. let's talk about this. you know, let's see how we can make it better. let's see how we can engage these people who do come to visit san francisco. >> reporter: lee's disappointed chinatown is getting negative attention. visitors i talked to are not fazed. >> i think it's really stupid, but people have really bad days and they pass their stupidity on to everyone else. >> reporter: city sightseeing is not releasing the name of the former employee. in san francisco, alisa harrington, abc 7 news. a 26-year-old man faces a

possibility of life in prison without parole or the death penalty if convicted for murder and robbery. prosecutors charged benny williams with murder with special circumstances enhancement for the fatal stabbing of 78-year-old warner willis. police say williams attacked willis about 9:15 sunday night on chestnut street in west oakland. after that, he allegedly carjacked three vehicles before crashing during a police chase in berkley. napa police are crediting social media for the return of a puppy stolen earlier today. here's a picture of the pup named bella after she was found. police say she was taken during a home burglary between 8:00 and 11:00 this morning. officers posted an alert on facebook, and in no time at all, a good samaritan spotted bella in the possession of two men near napa high school and called police. an investigation is ongoing against a duck farm accused of

widespread animal abuse and neglect. it is disturbing to watch. the undercover video was given to authorities and the iteam which broke the story last night. according to animal rights group mercy for animals, the video shows workers searing off duck bills at the duck farm. some animals were badly injured. the activist said the ducks never had access to water to swim or bathe themselves. coming up on abc 7 news at 6:00, dan has a follow-up on his i-team investigation and what the animal rights group called for today. the politics in san jose are getting ugly. there are now accusations of misconduct and outright lies in connection with pension reform for the police department and new recruits. david louis joins us in san jose with that story. david? >> reporter: you might say there isn't a whole lot of love between mayor chuck reed and the

police officer's association. now one of mayor reed's political strategists is being questioned about tactics he may be using against the union. the tension is building as the city and police union continue to fight over pension reform. today a former officer stepped forward claiming he was offered money if he would say the association president asked new recruits to quit. the city is losing officers to other agencies and to retirement faster than it can replace them. aaron eddinger said he received a call from a political strategist for mayor chuck reed. >> he reached out to contact me. and asked me to lie about what happened. and it's simply not true. i was appalled by it. >> reporter: eddinger said he will not take the money to say udland told him to quit. he told me by phone most of what he has said is false. he's planning to hire an attorney and hinted he may see eddinger. the war of words is escalating.

this is greg adam. >> chuck reed, his political consultant, are becoming richard nixon. >> mayor reed said he had no knowledge of the call. he is seeking an independent investigation into the dispute. >> i'm certainly not involved with anybody else's activities. >> there is suspicion that all of this has to do with the mayor's race. corteze seems to be distancing himself from the fray. >> right now we need these personalities to go away and we just need new leadership. >> he continues to take aim at the police officer's association. >> they are determined to try to burn this down in order to make a political point for their own financial benefit. >> reporter: in san jose, david louis, abc 7 news. it's a lopsided financial fight heading into the final

weeks before election day. ballot measures have raised more than $83 million in the past three months. the most lopsided fight is proposition one. supporters of the $7 billion water bond have raised nearly $16 million compared to less than $72,000 by opponents. opponents of proposition 45 have raised nearly $20 million. that's 13 times more than supporters. prop 45 would give the state insurance commissioner more regulatory power. there was fishing near the river yesterday where their inflatable boat capsized. a rogue wave overturned the boat and tossed the man into the water. a bystander saw them waving their arms and this is what happened. a sheriff's helicopter found the man clinging to the boat. the swells were up to eight feet. only one of the men was wearing a life jacket. all of them are okay.

everyone's excited about the world series, but police are reminding all of us to be careful about selling or buying world series tickets as the games come back to san francisco. a san carlos resident posted two tickets. he met with a potential buyer at 12:30 in the afternoon. all seemed well. it was at a cvs parking lot. then things changed. the so-called buyer grabbed the tickets and took off running. san mateo police say they have some leads on the guy. they suggest fans use more reliable websites in order to sell and buy tickets during the world series. >> that's just mean. just mean. we're talking world series, from cameras to scammers. security takes the spotlight on the evening of game three. that's ahead. plus, realtime player information. what is now making the job easier for firefighters. also, car after car after car. you'd think they were giving something away. well, they were. plus, that sixth inning when giants pitcher hunter strickland just came unglued.

covering san marrone, san mateo. >> the giants are back and they are ready to win the world series at home. take a look at the players arriving just a short time ago. a lot of wives, and even kids there with the players. they flew in late today from kansas city. the next three games of the world series will be here, tomorrow, saturday, and sunday. as you may know, the giants split their first two games with the royals in kansas city with the royals winning 7-2 last night. when fans get to at&t park tomorrow, they will notice an increase in security. security cameras went up today all around the park. the liberty trucks are getting a look as well. they're going to have to stop at

pier 96 before being allowed to go into the ballpark. tiffany wolfson explains it's because of new involvement by homeland security. >> reporter: earlier this week, beer trucks could just pull up and start unloading. today the protocol is totally different. they must come to peer 96 fir and here they're met by u.s. customs and border protection, a department of homeland security. a truck scans both sides for any signs of radiation. then iive imaging truck runs alongside almost like a car wash. >> what we have here is our large scale equipment. we're looking for both radiation and also using our imaging equipment to make sure there's nothing inside the vendor's trucks. >> reporter: from here, the drivers are given a unique placard. the drivers are escorted to the second entrance of at&t park, where homeland security officials and sfpd are stationed. >> we just escort to make sure that the trucks are in the same condition that they were in when

they were here at this facility. >> steven baxter says it's necessary given how many fans will fill the stadium. >> it's obviously a big national event and drives home lots of people and attention and just has that higher profiesm we're out here to make sure these events are safe. >> reporter: this is the same technology homeland security uses on shipping containers at the port every day. here you can see a couple trucks getting ready to go through the scanning process. i'm told between now and sunday, dozens of delivery trucks are expected to be scanned right out here at peer 96. in san francisco, tiffany wolfson, abc 7 news. >> and the royals are getting comfortable in a san francisco hotel on union street. this afternoon, the players left the westin st. francis on their way to batting practice. there was a small group of fans gathered near the team bus. most were giants boosters hoping to get an autograph from a major

league player. >> i'm an autograph collector. autograph seeker. it's a hobby. i love it. >> i'm just looking at the royals. they're staying across the street from my work. >> it's okay to look at them. it's not okay to cheer for them. >> that's the distinction. some wanted to get their autographs before they get too famous and become inaccessible. the mother of hunter strickland is going to bat tonight for her son. strickland lost his temper on the mound in last night's game. >> to left. off the bat of infante! it's gone! >> reporter: after that home run, strickland started yelling at the royals' salvador perez as he ran home off omar infante's home run. players spilled out of both dugouts. strickland said he felt one of the royals said something to him first, but later he said he was just frustrated with himself. >> there's no hard feelings towards anybody. >> what was it that set you off?

>> the fifth home run i've given up this postseason. >> well, today, the 26-year-old's mother maggie strickland said he is an intense player and a perfectionist. she said he's upset with himself. to get that upset with yourself, that proves to the world that you want it so bad. she also said she is very proud of her son. well, there is a lot of pride tonight in this series. liliana rose grace was born on tuesday, just two hours before game one began. let's hope she slept through the game two loss, however. look how sweet she is. you can e-mail your fan photos, or tweet them to us at abc7newsbay area. fire officials are getting some high-tech health detecting wild land fires. a real concern in this time of drought. four cameras have been installed at some of the highest points in marin county. the cameras are programmed to detect smoke on the landscape, and if it does, it will alert the local fire officials to

where they can see it. two other cameras were installed on big walk ridge. the cameras will help but not replace the volunteers. visitors to angel island will have a bit of a disruption. the state park service will partially close the island for five days starting monday, november 3rd. it's to do a much-needed repaving work. ferries to and from the island will not run. the visitors center and island attractions will be closed, but people who have their own means of getting to the island can still access it. the park will reopen saturday, november 8th. drive up, stick your arm out the window and get a free flu shot. >> did it hurt? >> yes. >> in and out in ten minutes or less. staff at doctors medical center if san pablo administered free vaccinations for the public today with to your car door service. the public hospital sponsors the free flu shot clinic every year, despite its recent financial problems. >> we're in the midst of a fiscal crisis, but we are still

here as the public hospital supported by the community and we're so glad to be able to deal with this public health issue, and that is influenza. >> many in the community take advantage of this free service every year, and say they hope that it continues. and so far, so good. the people behind the bay bridge rights are asking for more money in order to keep those lights on. the bay lights display needs about $4 million by december 31st. they say that will help keep the 25,000 l.e.d. lights from turning off early next year. bridge officials are working with the non-profit eliminate the arts group on an agreement to get an upgraded display installed and running long-term. right now the lights are scheduled to come down starting march 6th. a possible new case of ebola, a man who used a ride sharing service uber in new york. i talked with david mira about it this afternoon. >> reporter: what happened last night, it's all tied up, but we're rooting there with you in san francisco. don't tell the royals.

looking north, i can see some fog coming in. that's the beauty of being out here. we'll talk about the weather for the upcoming weekend. and right now we are seeing heavy cloud cover up in the north bay. a lot of sunshine south. we are tracking a few light showers, but really not all of this is reaching the ground. some of it is actually just moisture up in the clouds. some blue sky mixing in with some clouds. 72 san jose. 74 currently in morgan hill. the highs so far today, upper 60s to upper 70s. everyone's been enjoying some mild weather. we have a lake advisory going up until 11:00 p.m. saturday night. tomorrow's fine if you're traveling with very gusty winds. on saturday, there's a chance of rain and snow. higher elevation snow. snow levels will be between 8,500 and 9,000 feet.

76 in livermore. check this out. drive carefully if you're heading out. foggy over the golden gate bridge right now. mild for world series game number three. rain on saturday. showers in the evening. it dries out on sunday afternoon. satellite pictures showing you it has not progressed much. heavy rain up in northern california on the order of two and a half to about five and a half inches of rain in the last 24 hours. the rain will start to push southward on saturday. and that's when we are expecting things to really change. so tomorrow night, not to worry. giants have great weather for world series game number three. it's going to be dry. as we head toward saturday, this is what we really need and it's rain. starting saturday morning, pretty widespread, we get a little bit of a break in between, and then a chance of showers saturday evening. right around the time game number four is getting under way, we have a slight chance of thunderstorms in the north bay.

showers will start to shift southward at 8:00 p.m. so i woumd just take a raincoat to be on the safe side, so you're prepared if you're going to the game, and don't forget to bundle up. rain totals pretty good up in the north bay mountains. about three quarters to an inch and a half through sunday morning. most lower elevations between 1,500 and half an inch. tomorrow morning, starting out with the fog at the coast, high clouds overhead. temperatures in the 50s. tomorrow afternoon, you are looking at really mild weather for most of the bay area. 70s, 80s mostly sunny, except at the coast. low clouds will linger, mid to upper 60s there. and here's a look specifically at the world series forecast, in case you're wondering about the temperatures. game three tomorrow night, 66 for first pitch, dropping down to 62 at 8:00 p.m.
