play, as well, so use mass transit to get around. two dozen residents are safe after an early morning evacuation. fire break out in a milpitas apartment. it impacted homes in the area. matt? >> we learned in the past half hour the four people rescued from the roof were the grandmother, the mother and two children. the grandmother suffered burns and was evening thatten to the hospital. we are waiting for word open her condition. the first call came after 2:50 for a fire at a home in milpitas. firefighters say the fire was on the 1st floor. the grandmother was burned before she made their way to the roof. a second alarm was called because the first priority was to get the family down. >> they were in distress on the

roof. we laddered the building but they were in distress so they jumped off the roof with assistance from police and us, the fire, and others were take were off the roof with ladders. >> after they recused the family they knocked down the flames in 15 minutes. 20 people were evacuated from five hopes but were let in an hour later. the four rescued from the roof have to stay elsewhere. the red cross has been called. the family's dog died in the fire and firefighters say they found it on the first floor. the work here, firefighters say they have a lot of work to do to make sure all the fire is outside and board up the weapons and the roof. thanks, matt. we are 12 hours away from the giants first home game of the

down of an east bay freeway last week and is wanted for armed robbery. he is accused of stealing a woman's necklace and firing a gun at her husband who tried to get it back. police closed part of 880 while they searched for him. he was never found. he is considered "armed and dangerous." getting a car stolen is just the beginning of a costly nightmare for drivers if the vehicle is found in san francisco. right now if a car is stolen and recovered by san francisco police the owner has 20 minutes to pick it up or it is towed. the tow company charges storage fees that could total thousands if the car is not picked up in four hours. a san francisco supervisor says that punishes the victim. >> there needs to be a much longer grace period for stolen vehicles or a waiver. we cannot have this situation. it is double victimization.

thank you pore joining us. world series comes back to san francisco today and what is the weather going to be like for that? we will be mostly sunny at 5:00. upper 60, dropping into the low 60's with increasing clouds but dry today. as far as the forecast, you can see why we don't have many clouds with most of them low clouds along the coast and we saw yesterday the transition from the high clouds to low clouds would take place overnight and that is what happens. from the exploritorium you can see how quiet the bay water is this morning and as you head into the afternoon hours, warm sunshine and above average inland, 76 to 80 and the coast and san francisco is where the low and lazy clouds hang out, at 65 to 70 and 72 with 78 and prettier conditions around the bay. >> we have world series. we have a couple of other big events but, first, at walnut
