deputies say it's unfortunate they'll be now adding another name. the 34-year-old was taken into custody around 4:00. he was holed up. being treated in the hospital, then booked in jail. a woman was also taken into custody in the day the pair is accused of going on a rampage in two counties. one from sacramento county has been identified as a 47-year-old deputy, a 15 year veteran the other from placer county. it started just before 10:30 when the deputy was doing work. and he and a partner were checking out a suspicious vehicle. the deputy was killed. >> it's a perfect storm. you have an officer has been wounded. and have others trying to get

through the -- get the officer help they needed and have to apprehend a suspect. >> the pair shot one of the drivers. a stolen pickup truck spotted. the woman was taken into custody the man took off and one deputy was killed. schools were put on lock down, the suspect was apprehended. this is still an ongoing investigation. everybody wants to know why this happened but motive is unclear. >> thank you. two students dead, four others injured after a shooting near seattle.

it happened this morning in marysville the gunman shot five students before shooting himself. witnesses say it was just terrifying. >> i jumped under the table as fast as i could. it stoped and i looked back up i saw he was trying to reload his gun. >> i don't know how to comprehend it. >> students say he had just been elected freshman home coming king. his parents told reporters he had been bullyed and fighting over a girl. a tourist caught making a racist rant through chinatown is making amends tonight. >> the woman spoke to abc7 news didn't want to give her name and told abc7 news it was a joke that went terribly wrong.

three of the world series underway now. just down the street from our studios. so for the first time in five years san francisco giants are on one of the biggest stages in all of baseball. if you tuned in, you probably don't care but here is why we should. there is something special happening when a local sports team makes it into the world series. we pull together and root as one. most fans are giants fans this week. almost like a holiday. there is a spirit of kindness in the air. crime goes down, kindness goes up. winning again would be a thrill. regardless of the outcome what matters is that being there once again means so much to the bay area. let's go, giants. get this done on sunday. >> it is great no matter what
