>> abc7 news at 11 starts right now with breaking news. >> a terrible accident in the south bay. a big rig kill as teen boy on a bicycle before school started. thanks for joining us. the santa clara county sheriff deputy has closed off the scene near near deanza college. david? >> this is the scene. behind the white pickup truck along the union pacific railroad tracks. it happened as studented headed to school on their bicycles and as many commuters headed to

work. sky 7 h.d. was over the scene at the intersection of bubb and the bicyclist was a teen boy was killed after struck by a big rig. there is a bicycle lane but investigators have not yet determined if the boy was in the bicycle lane at the time. he was wearing a helmet but the impact knocked the helmet on the basement. the bicyclist was wearing a backpack but he has not been identified by sheriff deputies. there are three schools in the area. there were several witnesses to the accident. they were instrumental in stopping the truck driver a short distance away. a spokesman for the sheriff indicates that the driver was not aware of the accident. >> the driver continued on not knowing he struck the teen boy. when he was notified he was involved in an accident, he stopped and cooperated with us. unfortunately, the teen boy was pronounced dead by emergency medical personnel at the scene. right now we have our investigators at the scene and

looking to the cause of the accident. >> this is the truck that witnesses stopped half a mile away on bubb road, the sheriff says the driver is cooperating and this is the sixth bicycle accident so far this school year and the first fatal accident in cupertino. cupertino's city council is considering a change in the ordinance to allow bicycles to use sidewalks but for now it is still illegal. investigators are expected to be here all day as they continue to interview witnesses and put together exactly how this fatal accident happened. oakland police hope the public can help find who shot this woman, perla avina, in a potential violent case of world rage. she was riding in the car with her husband on 98th avenue yesterday afternoon and someone in another car shot her. investigators say perla avina and her husband were in a monte mcnaughton black camry and

they hope releasing the make and model will jog someone's memory. they are asking for folks to check their surveillance video. >> a 28-year-old tyler randall wallace was arrested in the assault his girlfriend. police have been called to the home yesterday morning. when they could not find wallace he repeatedly assaulted his girlfriend and held her at navy point before she was finally able to call 9-1-1. police are investigating a stanford student's report that she may have been drugged and sexually assaulted. police say they responded to a call from distressed student at 5:00 yesterday morning and the university sent an e-mail alert to students yesterday warning of a possiblings didn't. police are now trying to determine where the assault took place. the giants boarded the buses and ready to fly to kansas city
