secret closings we are seeing pus of the parade but, first, it is now officially a sig-alert northbound highway 17 at summit involving one vehicle that caused an oil and coolant spill so if you we have one lane open in both the northbound and southbound direction and most of the traffic is in the northbound direction. still pretty quiet but i want to let you know mission is closed at main street and mission at spear, both closed. it is very difficult to get around. i will keep you updated on the closings in a minute. fans are packing market street to celebrate the third world series title in file years. >> crews have been working to secure the area where the civic officer celebrations are held at 1:30 this afternoon following the parade that begins at noon

at the foot of market and stewart building and from there they ride or walk along market street to city hall and officials are warning fans to take public transportation. >> our reporter is at the embarcadero station in san francisco with the transit options. people are already here. look at them lining both sides of market street. these are experienced parade attendees. they have taken what they have learned the last two parades and applying it including getting early and taking public transportation. city officials could not agree more, it will be essential to take trains and becauses to get here and bart says it is ready, using every train available today and they will run longer than usual, until 2:00 in the morning because they are dealing with halloween. people who have been to the parade say you need to think about the whole day when making your plans. >> getting here and driving would be easy and get out would

live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. thanks for joining us. as we start, we bring you live doppler 7 hd and you can see a storm on moving in the pay area. it is promising to bring rain to the giants big parade thatcies off at noon. it will not dampen spirits. how much will we get? >> we will check with meteorologist mike nicco. 10:00 the rain hits san francisco. it is light the then it is moderate-to-heavy from 11 o'clock to 1:00 o'clock and then back to lighter rain by 2:00 and should be gone by 2:30. by 4:00 just clouds. with the rain coming if later and being more intense by the time we get to the evening hours, late afternoon, we are

bumper-to-bumper traffic from scots valley. >> we are less than six hours until the start of the parade and the hotter tonight until the win. >> between a million and two million fans will crowd long market street. you are urged to take public transgender. >> amy hollyfield continues the coverage and how is it looking? >> people are showing up and they are wearing orange and blackhead to to and the front row starts are filled up. these people are experienced. they say you have to get here by 5:00 a.m. to get a spot and you have to take public transportation. bart says it and ready. officials say in 2012 the parade set a record for the number of passengers and they are not sure if they will break that today's of rain but they are prepared. they had extra mechanics on hand in case there are breakdowns and extra trains and extra hours, running until 2:00 a.m. ratherren that usual midnight.

>> what we have is nine extra trains that are not on the schedule just running loose all day and that will clear the platforms. the best way to see when the next train is coming is use the real time departure, and especially after midnight this is in schedule so if you want to know when your train is coming home, use that feature on the app. >> caltrain added eight extra strains. no bullet service because they will do "load and go," and same with ferries. when it is full, it takes off. caltran has to stop at every station. bart says the business of the times will be from 9:00 to 6:00 p.m. but for the early birds what have a tent. they are ready. they are in for the long haul. they will milk a full day out of this. the city is hoping you will take a train. don't drive.

are playing an integral role setting up the parade route. the float is a big deal because they do all they can to make sure the floats going down market street will carry the sponsors and organizations that have supported the steam. designing and painting the floats for the parade requires a good deal of planning particularly for a day like today. pg&e says they look forward to the parade, too. >> to be on, the guys fight over who drives and participated in the parade. >> yes, it is funny, i have done this for the last two and i had more volunteers than i knew what to do with. >> good fun for everyone? >> great fun. it is tremendous for the treatment and the fans and for our city. >> "parade guys," or responsible

as we look at the closures for the parade to the civic center where we will have the rolling closures with mission street shut down at main and spear so if you are traveling through the area, south of market and through the financial district, very difficult to get around. san rafael, along 101, pushing in, traffic is heavy and it is still dry, and we are still dealing with the sig-alert but it is opening. you and see the yellow but, still, red approaching from scots valley so it will take some time to dissipate. now, a look at our weather, we will talk with meteorologist mike nicco. most of us have been dry, and golden gate bridge is on the southern edge coming into san francisco and the head lates are seen as dry and live doppler hd

francisco giants world series parade. we have a lot going on with the possibility of rain. a busy morning. we have developing news. we want to show you what is going on with folks trying to get to san francisco if the parade, tweeted by caltrain lanes are growing for the giants parade and you will want to get this early. transit is the way to go. whether you want to take caltrain or bart but bart is experiencing delays. we will want to talk to leyla gulen about that in a moment. >> if you want to go, go early. >> bring your rain pancho. >> we will talk to leyla gulen about the delays. yes, as we talk about bart we have a major through at daly city and the sfo and millbrae direction because of an equipment problem.

if you are making it to the east bay you are going to be severely delayed in excess of 20 minutes and closer to 30 or 35 minutes. mass transit is if good shape. we have a new problem at the bay bridge toll plaza if you are trying to come from the maze a disabled truck before you get to the toll in the number four lane from the left. you will find delays to inch your way around. that will cause problems. we are headed right back to the santa cruz mountains where we have a sig-alert and the slowing is back, northbound highway 17 involving one vehicle, a coolant and injuries are involved and now the lanes are shut down in the northbound and southbound directions causing delays from scots valley and already we are seeing closings for the victory day parade from stuart to the plaza. the closures now are on mission street from embarcadero to the

van ness and the closures right now are at spear and main so you can use that causing major difficulty south of market and through the financial district. >> and now the halloween plans. >> if you are outside of the north bay, everyone else, hold on we have moderate-to-heavy rain and a clap of thunder possible with the cold front from 11 o'clock until at least 1:00 o'clock weapon we have the best downpours. don't take an umbrella, it is way too crowded. wish a pancho. that is the best advice. by 2:00, the rain is easing, and by 4:00 we will be mostly cloudy with the rain coming in later and harder the dry window is opening bigger and 6:00 to 8:00 all the showers should be moving east mainly dry and a chance of a scatter showers but the main band of rain is going to come in with the cool front.

between bodega bay and to guerneville we have a few sprinkles and headed to marin with the cold front and more moderate showers lining up. check out the orange color from all the buildings in downtown san francisco with orange. showers and thunder, heavy at times, and scattered showers and not a wash out tomorrow with temperatures mostly in the mid-60's and we could make it to 67 at fairfield and livermore but that is the exception. most of us in the upper 50's to low 60's and in the mid-40's to mid-50's from inland to around the bay. you can see the radar picking up the showers and the more advance line to our northwest by 9:00 it is getting its act together and the wave along the front, orange means moderate and red means heavy and noon to 1:00 o'clock, tapering by 2:00 when the heavy

rains roll law and it will be over in the east bay moving so the south by by 2:00 and still there by 4:00 but moving into the central valley and deeper into the santa clara valley with scattered showers and the opening of the break for trick-or-treating the best chance of showers is over the ocean that that is where the greatest instability is and that is the case tomorrow and tomorrow is not going to be a wash out but we will get potentially heavy rainfall especially from san francisco cross the bay bridge where you see green, it is 1" to 2". possibly the same amount in the santa cruz mountains. temperatures are warmer tomorrow because of the lack of rain, and carbon monoxide detectors, smoke alarms, change the batteries tomorrow when you set back the clock. the sun comes up an hour earlier so enjoy the sunshine and soviet there early and a warming trend
