san francisco, up ander 60s oakland and a few 70s perhaps in the delta. i'll have the extended outlook in a few minutes. >> thank you. developing news. police are investigate ago four people died catch their boat died near bodies bay. three victims have been side tied. jesse langley was from bodies bay, and samuel garcia, 86, from bodies bay, and 60-year-old david costa from ripon. the survivor has not opinion identified. the boat was rescued yesterday morning. we have the late forest bodies bay. >> witnesses say the coast guard and other rescue workers quickly recovered four people from the dangerous waters. one said she could see

paramedics trying to survive them. >> the guy was pumping. the paramedic was just hauling on somebody. it was so surreal, i couldn't believe it. >> three men and one woman pulled from the water did not survive. a fifth person identified as philip sanchez was pulled from the rocks by helicopter. that's him being walked into the coast guard station by the rescue workers. he suffered minor bruises and cuts and suffered from hypothermia. the boat was a complete loss. >> it broke up on the rocks over there. it pretty got smashed to piece business the waves. we haven't seen any recoverable pieces of it. >> philip sanchez has returned home from the hospital. we talked to some of his friends who tell us he's known the other four people in the group for years. sanchez did not talk with his. his friends asked us to leave after he got home. according to the sonoma county

sheriff's department, none of many people in the boat were wearing life jackets. the coast guard is asking boaters to be careful the rest of the weekend. a wind advisory remains in effect in the area. >> something was a bad sparkplug or anything else, when you break down in winds like this you drift so quickly you will find yourself on rocks in no time. it's very dangerous. >> the crash is still under investigation. >> abc7 news. this morning police in san francisco say they have located the driver in a fatal collision developing a pedestrian. the accident happened around 9:30 last night near third and cargo street. the victim is a man in his 20s or 30s. police say he was on a skateboard. investigators believe it is possible the driver was unaware he hit anyone. talking to the driver and witnesses to determine exactly what happened. a u.c. berkeley student is dead after falling at oracle arena. zachary bradley was a premed

student in his second year at cal. abc7 news reporter lilian kim has the story from berkeley. >> by all accounts, 20-year-old zachary bradley was a talented, well-rounded individual. his family said he could speak spanish, played several instruments and inspired to be a doctor. on halloween he took a tragic fall. it was at a concert at oracle arena in oakland. they said bradley died after falling more than 20 feet. he was climbing down an elevated and restricted area behind the stage. his fraternity brothers are grieving. no one wanted to go on camera but they athey will miss bradley. they loved him and his sense of adventure. lilian kim, abc7 news. people at walnut creek are helping neighbors displaced by an explosion that destroyed part of a townhouse complex.

it happened friday. two men suffered severe burns and are still in critical condition at u.c. davis burn center. hundreds of volatile butane canisters being used to turn marijuana into hash oil caused the blast. the explosion blue out windows and buildings across the street. the entire complex is uninhabitable. >> some of the neighbors approached me and said that they were willing to help. >> a third victim showed up at a hospital later that day. police say all three face felony charges. the attorney for the former california highway patrol officer charged with stealing nude photos from a woman's cell phone said his client is sorry. 35-year-old sean harrington resigned from the force. he faces two felony charges in connection with stealing pictures from a woman he arrested on suspicion of drunk

driving. his attorney said in a statement that his client apologizes to the women and to colleagues in law enforcement. memorial services will be held this week for two sheriff's deputies killed in the line of duty last month. michael davis of sacramento county, and deputy daniel oliver were killed after a man went on a shooting rampage during a crime spree. oliver's memorial service is tomorrow at 11:00 a church in roseville. davis' memorial will be held the next day at the same location at 10:00 a.m. marquez and his wife, 38-year-old janelle monroe, face more than a dozen felony charges, including murder. for the first time in four years the national average for a gallon of gas is below three dollars. even in the bay area. a gallon of regular of gas in san jose cost drivers $2.82.

prices plummeted 34 cents in the last month, bringing the average gas for a gallon of regular to $2.99. that price hasn't been seen since december 22, 2010. in san francisco the average is $3.47. $3.45 in oakland and $3.29 in san jose. ski resorts in the sierra received a dusting of snow from this weekend's storm. this is video from heavenly mountain resort in tahoe. they received three inches of fresh powder. a similar seen the northstar in truck he key. they received two inches of snow from the storm. 6 inches fell at squaw valley, and ten inches of fresh powder fell on alpine meadows upper mountain. coming up later this morning, the storm moving across the rest of the country this weekend. happening now, part of the golden gate bridge is closed in

game. the instruments were accidentally left in a bin at the stadium parking lot. when the band instructors realized they were gone, they went back, but the instruments had disappeared. most of them belonged to the students. >> my mom had it when she was playing flute when chefs in fifth grade so we've had it in the family about 35 years. >> no one thought they would ever see the instruments again. >> they thought they had been gone for good, considering it's san francisco and a lost things happen there. >> one thing did happen. on thursday band director kelly stuart got a phone call from a woman called jack. she had the instruments. >> i just couldn't believe it. i mean, it was mind blowing. >> jack's friend, a homeless man, who collects tin cans at the stadium parking lot found the bin with the instruments. he stayed with it for an hour thinking someone would retrieve it. no one did. he stashed them in his huddle for safekeeping, eventually he brought the instrument to jack asking if she could keep them.

the flow. police arrested two people for trespassing. they were trying to see it up-close. the city of san jose is changing rules for water usage to coincide with then of daylight savings times. beginning today outdoor waterings will be allowed in the morning up to 10:00 a.m. hand watering is allowed after 3:00 p.m. but swattering with sprinklers remains restricted to after 8:00 p.m. watering plants during the cooler water means less water evaporates and the plant have more time to absorb the water. they emphasize, though, it's still important to conserve, even when it rains. as we know, the state is dealing with an ongoing drought. but we have gotten some rainfall lately. >> yeah, we had a little more yesterday around mountain view, sunnyvale, san jose, and particularly salinas and san jose. today we are all dry. it begins a warming trend with temperatures a little cool. as much as 10 degrees cooler than average for san jose.

still running cool and it's going to take until the middle of the week. then we will see temperatures about 5 degrees to 10 degrees above average. so 5 degrees cooler this morning in san carlos and mountain view than we were yesterday. we had look for temperatures today to be pleasant," but plenty of sunshine. then autumn takes shape in the days ahead. high pressure offshore begins to build. the winds will be on the light side, starting out on the northwest and a light sea breeze. we will look for the sunny skies and looks like all week long. so no in-coming weather to add to our deficit, unfortunately. 67 today in san jose. it should be in the low 70s. mid-60s for milpitas and on the peninsula. lower 50s pacifica. and san francisco coming in about 66 today. up in the north bay, numbers will range from the low 60s and

. >> daredevil tightrope walker nick melinda is at it again. his next feat will take place in the windy city. he will walk a wire at a 15 degrees incline between two skyscrapers in chicago. and he plans to do part of it blindfolded. he said the inspiration came after undergoing laser eye surgery. the daredevil can't straight add live audience last year when he crossed a gorge at the grand canyon. san francisco's giants manager bruce bochy has been getting a lot of congratulatory messages and yesterday he got another one from president obama. the president called from air force one to say he was welcoming the team to the white house. president obama also sent his congratulations to world series

>> welcome back, everyone. we are starting this half-hour with a look at the weather with our meteorologist lisa argen. >> hi, carolyn. good morning to you. it's clear and cool this morning. exploratorium camera shows still lit up in orange. temperatures ranging from 54 in san francisco, 46 in san jose. 50 half moon bay. a little bit of fog may be forming in the next couple hours. the sun coming up at 6:33. low 40s for napa, petaluma and 44 concord and livermore. so we will look for temperatures in a narrow range from the low to mid-60s in san francisco, upper 60s in san jose. that is shy of the average low in the low 70s. you have to go out toward the delta and the sacramento valley to hit the 70s. we will stay cool for the first part of the week. i'll let you know when it's going to warm up and how much next. carolyn. >> lisa, thank you a former u.s. marine who spent month necessary

a mexican jail is now back in the united states. he is not ready to talk about it yet, but he has quite a story to tell. and it all started with the wrong turn. here's abc news reporter with the details. >> a beaming andrew is back home. a free man once again. on friday the retired marine sergeant set foot on american soil for the first time in seven months. he landed in florida early saturday. accompanied by his mother. >> he kept saying living in the moment. i think he was reconnecting with family. >> it was the end of an ordeal that began march 31st when he accidentally strayed into mexico from a california freeway. his car front loaded with weapons and hundreds of rounds of ammunition. he told a 911 operator he couldn't turn around. >> i crossed the border by accident and i have guns in my truck and they are trying to -- they are trying to take my guns. >> you are in mexico?

oakland today from nine to three. and early voteing is also available at the religion straw voters office. one of the questions you will be asked on the ballot on tuesday is are we sending too many nonviolent criminals to prison? here's the fourth installment of a series of reports produced called "be political on california propositions." ♪ be political now >> prop 47, criminal sentencing. do you know what a felony is? >> why are you asking? is it because i'm green? >> a felony is a serious crime. let serious crimes are called misdemeanors. this will reduce some crimes from a felony to a misdemeanor. already convicted felons would have the chance to be resentenced and to be released from allas long as the court feels they don't pose a serious

public safety risk. criminals who have committed violent crimes would not be affected by this prop. they stay where they are no matter what. a few years ago the u.s. supreme court said california's prisons are way overcrowd and supporters believe that this prop will also help free up space in prisons. if passed, money saved from keeping some of the nonviolent criminals out of jail will be redirected to education, victim services, and victim health and rehabilitation centers. but some believe releasing them earlier than expected is a bad idea because they might still pose a risk to the public and commit more crimes and just end up back in jail after hurting more people. voting yes means you support reducing penalties and sentencing for nonviolent crimes from felonies to misdemeanors. voting no means you do not support reducing nonviolent

it will be a really nice sunrise with clear conditions and a sunny sunday. a few buildups over the higher elevations. otherwise we have no warmth on the way tomorrow, but by the middle of the week that's when things will get well up into the 70s inland. high pressure sits offshore and that will allow for a north to west wind later on this afternoon of, keeping temperatures in a narrow range in the 60s. and the sierra nevada just in the 40s. lots of snow in the southern sierra with 49 for a high. 65 in fresno. fresno 70. low 50s on the coast today. in the south bay we should see low 70s. about 67 morgan hill. and on the peninsula 66 palo alto, 63 half moon bay and mid-60s downtown. up in the north bay a couple locations should top out at about 3:00, 70 degrees, napa and sonoma. head to the east bay, 59
