gathered behind me in the distance. details are very limited. we have video taken from early when bart officials say this started at 9:30. they got a call indicating a person was trapped under a train. we have since learned it is a minor. however, it is officially unclear how that person ended up on the tracks. here is what witnesses told abc7. >> we got out we saw in the back of the train there were people, my god, look down here, and there was a child, i don't know if it was child, but a girl, a girl had jumped and you could hear her screaming she needed help. >> bart police and the fire department are at seen investigating. bart is downing around trains at truth veil and have established a bus route. hopefully in the next 30 minutes we will learn more details.

now, again, service at san lenadro is halted as authorities try to figure out what has happened. another accident involving mass transit claims the life of a person in san francisco this morning. this accident happened after 6:00 when a bus hit a jogger at the intersection of van ness and lombard. eric thomas is there live. eric? >> the woman was killed but before we get to that, here is the latest information regarding driving here in san francisco. van ness is now closed between chestnut on the north and lombard on the south while police continue their investigation into the fatal collision involving a golden gate transit bus and a jogger at 6:00 a.m. the bus was making a legal left turn from eastbound

lombard to northbound van ness and it collided with the woman in her 50's who was jogging in the intersection. the driver said he didn't see her and police are not sure at this point in which direction she was running. the collision caused severe injuries of the woman and she was pronounced dead at the hospital. >> the driver is one of our senior drivers and has been with the agency for 35 years and he has a very good safety record. he obviously is distraught as all of us are. >> the city is crowds, very busy, and van ness is a main artery so we ask drivers and pedestrians and bicyclists to be cautious and be mindful of each other and yield the right-of-way >> there is a big rig tow truck that is going to tow the building and transit bus away but people are taking

measurements and doing forensic investigation at the seen. police and transit will pursue parallel investigations. the driver will have to go through drug and alcohol tests and be interviewed by investigators from the police department and golden gate transit and will likely be on leave until a final determination is made in this case. >> thanks, eric. bad news for students at all ten uc schools could face tuition increases each career for five years. the proposal is being made today to the board. absolutely. i asked the chief financial officer, why? he said, we need the money and i said what about the promise you made not to raise tuition and he said, what promise? >> there was never a promise. that is something the governor put in but we have to look at state funding. >> the chief financial officer made it clear without more money

napa at 76 degrees. low-to-mid 70s along the east bay similar and that is five- to seven-degrees cooler than yesterday and mid-to-upper 70's into the east bay valley. tonight we have temperatures in the mid-40's in santa rosa and upper 40's in napa and parts of the san ramon rally and everyone else in the home 50's so there is the cold front bringing us the slight cooling trend at the coast and the high clouds and there is the high pressure that will keep us another seven days without ain't. in redwood city, a lot of cooling this month from 70's to 61 on the high side and 47 to 42, and extremes are 23 and 87 and 2.5" of rain, with the most be being 7.5". the seven-day outlook is almost the same set up tomorrow and high pressure snaps back in the wake of the cold prompt and that is why we see the 70's return to the coast and we have 80's inland and when we are back to average tuesday and wednesday, unfortunately, still no rain. hope you enjoy the warm weather.
