is december 7th. so call anthem today at 1-844-331-7996 to learn more or to schedule an in-person meeting. a lot of police activity and a real mystery right now in a south bay neighborhood. ten hours after an injured man was found in a home. thanks for joining us. i'm kristen sze. >> and i'm cheryl jennings. the police tape is around the area of a home on drakes bay avenue in los gatos. matt joins us live with the latest. matt? >> reporter: cheryl, this has become a big crime scene. drakes bay avenue is blocked off several hundred yards all the way to where the street actually turns south. crime scene investigators are here as this investigation heads into its tenth hour. the first 911 call came in about 1:00 a.m.

a 50-year-old man reported someone was injured in front of his house. when police arrived, that 34-year-old man was inside the house, he was taken to the hospital. the 51-year-old was taken to the police station to be interviewed. one neighbor described what she heard. >> one of the guys said they had seen an accident, that's how he described it to us. >> reporter: a los gatos police sergeant says the 34-year-old man was alive when he was taken to the hospital but did not know the man's current condition. the sergeant says they're not revealing how the man was injured and whether he was shot, stabbed, beaten or something else. the sergeant isn't aware of any arrests at this time and no word on how long this investigation is going to take here in los gatos. matt keller, abc 7 news. >> thank you, matt. developing news, state investigators raided the california public utilities commission's office and seized records as part of a probe into its dealings with pg&e. the chronicle reports investigators with the state attorney general's office served a search warrant and took records from cpuc headquarters

on van ness avenue yesterday as part of a probe into secret communications between the cpuc president, michael peevy, and officials at pg&e during the investigation into the 2010 san bruno pipeline investigation. peevy has said he will leave the cpuc at the end of the year. commission representatives are not commenting. police are asking for help from the victim and witnesses following a new allegation of a sexual assault regarding a uc berkeley frafraternity. campus police say they received an anonymous letter describing the sexual assault of a student on halloween night. the letter says a woman went to a party at a frat house and believes she took the date rape drug and was sexually assaulted. police did not identify the fraternity and so far no victim has come forward. police say they can't pursue the case until she does. san francisco police are investigating an officer-involved shooting last

night that left a suspect in critical condition. police say three plainclothes officers were patrolling connecticut and 25th street around 8:00 last night. they saw five men, one of whom they knew from a previous drug case. the chief says four of the men ran off and the fifth pulled a handg handgun. an officer told him to drop it but he didn't, so the officer fired. police found small amounts of methamphetamine and heroin on that man. the four other men were detained. one of them also had meth. right now san antonio officials are in oakland trying to persuade the raiders to move the ball all the way down to texas. a big name in former president clinton's administration is leading that charge. amy holyfield is live at team headquarters in alameda. amy? >> reporter: no comment coming out of headquarters here, kristen, but henry cisneros is talking. he is the former mayor of san antonio. he was in president bill clinton's cabinet. now he's focused on trying to get this team to move to san

antonio. cisneros has confirmed that he and other city leaders are meeting with the oakland raiders today and he thinks that san antonio has a 50-50 chance of convincing the team to move. the raiders' lease with o.co coliseum ends after this season. the owner wants to build a new stadium here but this is the second meeting he has had with san antonio officials that we know about. he traveled to texas over the summer. this meeting is being held privately today, but publicly, both the mayor and mayor-elect say they are planning to fight for the team. >> until january 5th, i'm going to be solely dedicated to working on the remaining issues around oakland, whether it's the coliseum city deal. >> this is part of the oakland spirit that has got to be preserved. and i'm very appreciative of the bold visionary project of coliseum city, so i look forward to continuing the mayor's work on that vision and doing

everything within my power to keep our sports teams in oakland. >> reporter: l.a. has also been mentioned as a possible new home for the raiders. many things that dallas cowboys owner jerry jones will have a lot to say about another football team moving to texas. i asked the san antonio chamber of commerce about that and they said they haven't heard a word from jerry jones yet. they say it appears he is staying out of it for now. we will continue to follow this story very closely, especially today with this meeting going on, so stay with abc 7 news for the very latest on this story. reporting live in alameda, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. new this morning, an african-american woman could make history as the next attorney at law. she's the top federal prosecutor in brooklyn. u.s. attorney loretta lynch is up for the job. according to government officials. if chosen and confirmed, the 55-year-old harvard law school graduate would become the first african-american woman to head the justice department. the white house is not commenting on who president obama plans to name. lynch would replace attorney general eric holder, who is

stepping down. the president does not plan to make a nomination until after a trip to asia next week. well, there's a new development this morning on the mysterious google barge that was anchored off treasure island last year. according to "the wall street journal" google planned to use it as a technology showroom but that idea has been shelved after the u.s. coast guard raised issues about fire safety. the coast guard warned google the barge would have more than 5,000 gallons of fuel on the main deck and a substantial amount of combustible material on board. in september of last year a coast guard inspector wrote that more safety measures were needed in case people were foesed to jump overboard. in march it was moved to the port of stockton after san francisco officials discovered google did not have the proper permits. in the past hour, mike honda declared victory in a hard-fought race against fellow democrats for the 17th district. he relied on his traditional base for support, including labor unions around the south bay.

board three were hospitalized with minor injuries. the turbo prop experienced problems after taking off from calgary. they didn't specify what happened during the landing but they were aware of reports of a blown tire or faulty landing gear. christmas shoppers, toys r us says they will open their doors for black friday shopping at 5:00 p.m. on thanksgiving day. the retailer is hoping to beat competitors to the punch when it comes to offering door buster deals. toys r us says it will stay open for 30 hours straight until 11:00 p.m. friday night. macy's, kohl's and sears will open at 6:00 p.m. on thanksgiving evening. in the south bay people are lined up for blocks right now to register for help over the holidays. >> they're lined up for the annual sacred heart community services giveaway that helps put food on the table and toys under the tree. >> nick smith has the story. >> reporter: families started staking out a spot for the holiday food box and toy --

jobs last month. yesterday both the dow and s&p 500 closed at record highs. new research out this morning finds most people who think they are allergic to penicillin might actually not be allergic. an allergist tested 400 people who believed they were allergic to the antibiotic and the results showed 94% of them were not allergic. another study showed 100% were incorrectly diagnosed. dr. richard besser says it's critical to know whether you really are allergic. >> penicillins are one of the most important classes of drugs. they're first line for strep throat, ear infection, sinus infection. if you don't take those you're often taking a drug with more side effects so very important information to know. >> and dr. besser recommends getting a penicillin allergic test. the two studies are being presented at an annual meeting of allergists in atlanta. investors are not loving the jobs report because the job is

only up about 16 points right now. in fact our temperatures may be up more than that. >> they're definitely off their lows of the morning now that the fog is starting to fade over our landing. over water it's still taking a while. it's hard to see the san mateo bridge because some of the thickest fog is still around that area. half moon bay is at two and a half miles. winds picking up. look at that, 17 at half moon bay. everybody else about 3 to 7, 8 miles per hour, but notice it's going in all different directions and that's why we believe that it's going to dissipate as it moves over the land, but it's also going to take a while longer because the winds aren't all that strong. looking at sfo, it's pretty sunny there, but over the water, and that's where the approach is, the clouds are keeping us about an hour and 30 minutes for flight arrival delays. southbound on 680 it's a little hazy but the fog never quite

made it completely into that area. that's why you're clearing out first and why places like san ramon are already 70 degrees. hayward 58. most of us in the low to mid-60s right now. here's the way it looks at the golden gate bridge. not the best day for pictures, but thinking about walking across it this weekend, much better. the fog will fade and mostly sunny conditions. we'll take a break from fall temperatures as we have most of this week. we'll be above average and even warmer this weekend. we'll get back to average next week but still don't see any rain for the next seven days. for today pretty much low to mid-70s everywhere. we'll be a little warmer in fairfield. sunshine and 77. you can see the orange in the central valley and that means upper 70s to low 80s. our coolest weather right along the coast, mid-60s there to upper 60s into san francisco. tonight the fog will be mainly confined to some patches along the coast an up in the north bay we're not going to have a widespread event like this morning. temperatures will be pretty close, though. most of us in the low to

mid-50s. palo alto, morgan hill, the san ramon valley, the north bay valleys in the mid to upper 40s so a little cool tomorrow. here's a look at two areas of high pressure dominating our forecast. as they move in, they're putting the lid on the atmosphere and that's why you'll still be hazy even though we get rid of the fog as we head through the afternoon hours. this high will start to move over land and bring us a little bit of an offshore breeze and that's why it's going to be warm this weekend. even up at tahoe. you can see some fell at heavenly but our averages are about 24 and 54. we'll be in the upper 30s to mid-60s, so only at the real highest elevations will they be making snow this weekend. if you're going to the raiders game, eight in a row to start the season. 70 and sunshine at 4:05 sunday dropping down to stars and about 62 by the end of the game. all right, so our almanac pick city is santa rosa, 71 and 46. you end up at 61 and 41.
