we have highlighted the growing problem of binge drinking that paramedics have had to take students to hospital putting strain on emergency services. last year was so bad the city had to call in mutual aid. officials say the number of calls is up over the past few years because students are urged to call 9-1-1 if they see a friend in trouble. >> in san jose part of the ballot count for mayor is over. mail-in ballots were tallied over the week and sam liccardo is retaining 3,500 vote lead over dave cortese. 14,000 provisional ballots will be counted that are set aside for eligibility checks. liccardo considers himself the winner and cortese has yet to concede. >> aldon smith is eligible to be active today but he could be the

first in nfl history to have to pay to play. he was suspended for nine games this season for personal conduct and substance abuse violations and had to forfeit half of the salary and must pay back the teen $1 million in signing bonus even if he returns, though, he would still owe $650,000 to the 49ers which he have to pay next season. espn reports that the suspension could have been reduced but wasn't because he did not fulfill all of his counseling obligations. nick will have more at the top of the hour. >> investigators with the national transportation safety board will be at scene of a deadly plane crash in santa clara county near highway 152 four miles outside of holster with the wreckage of a single engine plane going down on saturday provided by the

sheriff. the pilot and a passenger were killed and the sheriff says that the plane was traveling to watsonville. we have more video of the wrong way crash on the bay bridge with investigators say 32-year-old karrie lyn morgan got on the bridge near the toll plaza and drove westbound in the eastbound lane on saturday and went more than a mile before hitting three oncoming cars east of treasure island. a driver was seriously hurt and morgan was treated for minor injuries and investigators say show was high on drugs and faces felony d.u.i. and drug possess charges and driving without a license. the san francisco municipality transportation agency is facing $140,000 bill fordhams the my the giants won the world series and sky 7 flew over crowds that gathered on mission street and several other neighborhoods october 29. 28 vehicles, mostly trillionlies

covering daly city, los gatos and dublin this is abc7 news. >> the number of accident am poisonings involving laundry pods is skyrocketing.
