good friday morning to you all, i'm t.j. holmes. >> i'm reena ninan. we begin with the millions of people waking up to winter-like conditions. look at the radar. >> cold, rain, snow, stretching from maine to virginia. the beginning of what's expecting to be a very cold and wintry weekend. >> people in new jersey saw the first snow of the season overnight. a wet, white and wintry scene here in the northwestern part of the state. >> and not just the east coast getting snow, more than 6 inches in south bend, indiana, breaking the daily snauf record for that area. and an amazing 49.3 inches in wisconsin. that's over 4 feet since monday. this image overnight of a town's post office practically buried in snow. those scenes make alaska seem balmy. it's warmer in anchorage than in other parts of the midwest. >> who's next to get the cold air? let's get the forecast from accuweather's jim dickey.

>> up the i-95 corridor, north of new york city. boston, a mix, and portland, bangor, maine, could be some slick spots in the morning commute. and lake effect snow. locally as much as a foot in some spots. and again, speaking of the cold, it will be brutal here this morning. minus 8 in bismarck, 8 into minneapolis. reena and t.j., back to you. >> thank you so much. developing overnight, another ebola patient is heading to the u.s. for treatment. dr. martin delehe has been working in sierra leone, but he's a permanent resident of the u.s. living in maryland. he's expected to arrive in omaha tomorrow. it's one of four hospitals with areas fbs people with dangerous diseases. and blasting the secret service for the security breakdown that allowed a man inside the door in september.

>> there are alarming details about what went wrong. tahman bradley is here this morning. >> good morning. this is not at all what you would expect from the men and women sworn to protect the president. spectacular failures leading to a white house security breach. it's a damning report. this white house fence jumper made it inside the building because of secret service blunders. they were performance-based, organizational and technical. alarms didn't work, radios failed and officers were out of position. he jumped and overpowered a female guard. he made it to the east room, past stairs that led to the first family's residence. no one was in a position to catch him. harsh criticism for an officer with an attack dog. inside his van on his personal cell phone without his radio ear piece in. he didn't have the backup radio either. that was left in his locker. his error contributed to the

morning about the job market. americans are quitting. yeah, they're quitting their jobs voluntarily at the fastest rate in more than six years. nearly 3 million in september, that's 2% of the workforce. the number of people being hired

is also at a six-year high. they are getting new jobs and more confident about the economy. another side of the improving economy, college costs are up, but not as much as in recent years. the average cost of a four-year school in a student's home state is now almost $19,000. out of state, almost $33,000. college costs go up more quickly in bad time when is schools get less money from outside sources. the volkswagen golf has aced it. it is the car of the year. the editors say the redesigned compact is versatile, sporty and comfortable. they praise the fuel efficient engines and safety features they are vms best-sellers worldwide, but so-so in the u.s. an animated hero is taking on stupidity this weekend. disney thinks that "big hero 6" can hold its own against "dumb

speeding around the corner. three people walking, one in the road. and look out. and just like that, the car hits the pole, which saved the pedestrians from being hit. no one was injured, the car was heavily damaged. for the second time this week, a window washer had to be rescued from a dangling skyscraper. this time this was in houston. this is the phoenix tower in houston. the motor on the scaffolding failed. one side of the rig collapsed. after 15 minutes fire fighters pulled them to safety. earlier this week, two window washers, you'll remember this scene, had to be rescued from the new world trade center in new york. repairs are under way after they had to cut through a thick pane of glass to get the men off the rig. residents in france are on the lookout for a small tiger. it was photographed about six miles from disneyland, paris.

experts say it's about a year and a half old and more than 150 pounds. authorities armed with tranquilizers were out all night looking for it. a wildcat park nearby says the tiger isn't one of theirs. if you wear contact lenses and suffer from chronic eye infections, clean up your act. poor contact care causes hundreds of thousands of cases each year. most breakouts cause mild irritations, some can be serious and lead to blindness. don't wear lenses overnight and replace cases frequently. a lot of people thought this would happen. but clayton kershaw of the l.a. dodgers has done something that hasn't been done in a long time. the new national league mvp, in addition to the cy young award winner. got that award last week. kershaw is the first national league pitcher since 1968 to win both of those in the same season. in the american league, it was mike trout winning the mvp honors. he's just 23 years old, making him the youngest player to be a unanimous choice among the voters. >> the nfl's week 11 started
