and look what they caught. almost 4,000 pounds of plump, healthy crustaceons, they have been chasing them since thursday when many set the pod traps. but nobody is saying. >> i haven't even told my mother. >> reporter: i think they look great, they're hard shell. seem to be full. >> reporter: max is so impressed with the haul he bought almost 40,000 pounds of crab for his distributor. >> thank god we got started on time. the crab is coming in and everything is beautiful. >> reporter: larry colins is president of the crab association, he reports little drama with the price per negotiation, $3 per pound, same

as last year. but in 2013, there was a dispute. for some of the crabs, the journey really has only begun not only here in the bay area but around the world. these crabs are soon headed to tables in china. the abundance of crab seems to be climbing, despite the limits, 175 per boat. after a long 48 hours at sea, the quest for crab begins again for bobby mcharry. but now at least? >> we're tired, my wife is going to be happy. >> tired? >> a good type of tired. developing news in san francisco. there has been a deadly stabbing in the tenderloin neighborhood,

near farrell streets. the ambulance took the victim to san francisco general hospital where he died only minutes later. police do not have a suspect description. tonight, a woman is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a truck in san francisco's portrero hill. she was in a cross walk at 25th and utah streets just before 6:00 when she was hit by the truck which was making a left-hand turn. police have not said if they arrested or cited the driver. police in concord arrested a teacher suspected of inappropriately touching a 16-year-old boy, 40-year-old john o'brien is accused of touching his teen over his clothes back in september. the davis enterprise reports o'brien was mentoring the boy. he is on unpaid leave right now. >> a richmond man was sentenced

to ten years in prison for having sex with a 14-year-old girl. nicholas wetzel met the girl on facebook, the two had sex at his home and in a hotel in may. in august he pled guilty to transportation of a minor for illegal sexual activity. a man was arrested today as police say he aimed a laser at a helicopter. the police chief and his officers zeroed in on the suspect immediately and made the arrest. a plane was forced to turn back after it hit a bird last night, now back in service. sky 7 shows the plane after it landed at oakland international airport. it was heading to seattle after it hit the bird. the passenger took this picture as he exited the plane. they arrived in seattle on board a replacement jet earlier this morning. some air travellers in the bay area hit a bump in the road today when they found out super shuttle was not in service at

any of the three airports. abc reporter lisa amin gulezian has more. >> reporter: hi, the shuttle has been here behind me, we have been here all evening long and only saw two super shuttles. so the once most inconvenienced are the travellers. that is the news she got after arriving from seattle. and she just received this confirmation text from super shuttle moments before. >> it says welcome to sfo, proceed to middle curb. >> reporter: when she called super shuttle. >> i'm a little bit frustrated. they said they would give me a refund, and there was no explanation. >> reporter: according to the call center, a computer outage wiped out all the information at s sfo. it happened overnight and nobody

knows when it will be fixed. but the driver has another information. >> the drivers got together and decided to have a sick-out or strike, and from what i understand it will be for two days. >> reporter: he says he has friends working for super shuttle. and says they are frustrated by a new rate the drivers have to fit. but he admits, with others out of the way independence workers like him will be there. the ones not happy and downright angry are the tired travellers. >> to think i have to wait another 30 to 60 minutes to get to my location. >> you don't want to wait. so i think the company is going to have to step up or people will go elsewhere. >> reporter: strangely, i did see two super shuttle drivers working. neither would comment. at san francisco international, lisa amin

fix it. >> reporter: joseph pena lives near downtown napa which was hit hard by the quake. he said his neighborhood water main broke two days ago, the city crews responded fast and already fixed it. this area is proving more difficult. the signs set up allow for dates to be finished. >> they're only supposed to take until friday. i saw gentleman changing yesterday. >> reporter: residents are asked to cut back on their water use especially in the morning and evening hours. sergio quintana. open enrollment started today for california. the city hosted a sign-unfair. state officials hope more people will sign up under the health insurance under affordable care act or obamacare. the coverage allows for should be for people who can't obtain it through their employers. >> they have plenty of success, but plenty of people have not taken advantage of this new

temperatures by tuesday, back in the 70s, inland, upper 60s along the coast. we're tracking first a weak area of high pressure. allowing us for the sunshine, high clouds throughout the day today. more cloud cover off to the west. the cold front will move in here tuesday night, wednesday, bring us our chance of rain. highs for sunday, we'll see a mix of sun and clouds out there. 55 for san francisco, 70 in santa rosa and the north bay, 68 in oakland, 68 el paso, then we'll move into tuesday, the cold front gets closer. first, we'll bring the clouds in tuesday. by tuesday night, wednesday, the first chance of rain. right now it looks pretty light. could see heavier showers and you get into the north bay. nonetheless, the first chance of rain with several chances going into friday, saturday as well. clouds, temperatures pretty typical this time of year in the 60s. looking at the warming trend monday into tuesday, 70s inland,

live from the kgo tv broadcast center, this is abc 7 news. good evening, i'm katie marzullo. in tonight's headlines, san francisco police are asking anybody with information on a deadly stabbing to come forward, happening in the tenderloin, just before 8:30. officers found the man who had been stabbed in the chest. and a woman was hit by a truck now having life-threatening injuries. she was hit at 25th and utah

streets at about 6:00 p.m. the driver was turning left. super shuttle blames a major computer glitch for stopping van service at all three major airports tonight. but drivers with the other companies say the drivers are sick and frustrated over a new rate increase. an extremely sick surgeon arrived for treatment after contracting ebola in sierra leone. he may be sicker than the other patients brought to the u.s. salia tested positive after first testing negative. he comes to the u.s. after colin bucks went to west africa to treat patients. the state guidelines required the precautionary isolation. so many people are concerned about ebola we posted a list

with several things you need to know. including the origins, treatment and system to hhow it is transf new information out on the teen in missouri, tensions are mounting as the grand jury comes close to decide if it will indict the officer. abc news reporter rebecca jarvis with that new video and audio. >> reporter: these are the first looks that we have had of officer darren wilson on august 9th, in the hours after he fatally shot michael brown an unarmed black teen wilson says attacked him. the surveillance video obtained by the st. louis post dispatch, shows wilson walking from his police station unassisted, going to the hospital. the paper says in the company of another officer and a police union lawyer. ferguson police also release audio of wilson's radio traffic just before the shooting. the police call indicates a time

lapse of less than ten minutes from when wilson, unit 21, offered to help look for a robbery suspect. to when michael brown, who fit the suspect's description, lay dead in the street. what happened in this fatal interval has gripped a grand jury for months. they are expected to decide soon on whether or not to charge officer wilson with a crime. this is what hangs over the jurors' head, the threat of more such mob violence as followed brown's death. >> this was not representative of missouri and it cannot be repeated. >> reporter: a brown family attorney this week pled for calm n . >> this will be a defining moment in the history of missouri. >> reporter: even so local businesses are boarding up. and there is a run on guns. for now, ferguson can only brace and wait. rebecca jarvis, abc news, new

york. police in denver want to find the driver who shot and wounded an officer during a traffic stop. it happened last night in aurora. the officer's partner fired back at the driver. >> you hear it all the time. it is -- one of the most dangerous parts of the job is a traffic stop. and you're right, you never know what you're getting into. it all happened so quick the officers were not able to get a description of the driver. >> the wounded officer is in serious condition. but he is expected to survive. police say the car was stolen. the driver abandoned it a few blocks from the shooting scene and got away. world leaders wrapped up the g20 summit in australia after a fiery debate over russia. the russian president vladimir putin faced open criticism about the crisis in ukraine. several nations met to discuss how sanctions against russia have worked. president obama discussed stronger military cooperation with japan and australia and talked about a proposed trade

agreement with the european union. a canadian girl will have holistic treatment for leukemia now that a judge ruled against a hospital that wanted her to have chemotherapy against her mother's wishes. the 8-year-old belongs to an indiana tribe in ontario. her mother stopped chemotherapy ten days after it began and moved her child to a healing center in florida. child protection officials like the judge agreed with the mother. >> reaffirms our right to be indian. and to practice our medicines in the traditional way. >> part of the judge's decision focused on part of canada's constitution. it protects practices used by aboriginal cultures before they came in contact with european settlers. the hospital has no plans to appeal. the mail seems to be the way to go when it comes to voting in california. the sacramento bee reports the

at&t has ended a controversial program that allowed it to track the on-line activity of smartphone users. the company used so-called super cookies to add a hidden tracking number into all the web traffic on the cell phone. the code creates a data mining opportunity for the company and for advertisers. the practice became public last month, pro publica reported they have ended the practice. verizon says it still uses this type of tracking. there is no evidence that sprint and t-mobile uses super cookie. and we see just how

vulnerable we all are to cyber and hacking spying. >> reporter: actress jennifer lawrence tops a group of a-list celebrities whose nude photos appeared on line after cyber criminals hacked into their smartphones. what happened didn't surprise the ceo of the internet security firm snoop wall. >> but the best way to steal information if you're a cyber criminal, and to extort someone is on their mobile device. >> reporter: we depend more and more on our mobile devices. the federal reserve found more than half of all smartphoneok users have used their devices for mobile banking. the more banks we do on our devices the less cost there is for banks, so it is no wonder that banks are encouraging their

customers to utilize the convenience. >> it is just the convenience of on-line and mobile banking has really appealed to people. essentially, you're bringing the branch of the bank onto your phone. >> reporter: but how safe is mobile banking? according to the ceo, not safe at all. >> so mobile banking today is very insecure. and to top it off there is no anti-virus that works well on any smartphone. >> reporter: he says the big gateway for cyber criminals are the apps we use. you may unknowingly be giving the app developers access to your information. >> why are they sending data to other countries, locating people, looking at their pictures and videos and sending and receiving information over the internet. looking at your contact information. it is unbelievable. >> reporter: even apps that seem innocent and safe such as a flash light app. federal regulators reached a settlement withçó the app, brig
