broadcast center this is abc7 news. it is wet wednesday. we mentioned it was going to be that way. i am kristen sze. >> i am eric thomas. >> we are happy. we need the rain. but be careful. >> north of san mateo bridge we have seen the bridge but south of that we are dry near the shark tank, only a few sprinkles but rain moving through the santa cruz mountains and although it is not raining across the golden gate bridge you can see there is plenty of moisture kicked up by the cars. most of the main band is around concord headed to pittsburg and bay point and headed up from vallejo and american canyon and dixon, north of the san mateo bridge, that is where the action is but it is moving into the santa cruz mountains and could get into the south bay the next hour in the form of light rain. be careful on 101 and 280 and over to richmond-san rafael toll plaza you can see how wet

on the proposal of janet napolitano to raise tuition by 5 percent each year for five years 69 the governor and lieutenant go are planning on attending. oakland unified school superintendent will under veil a plan to approve schools the next six years. the oakland tribune got a preview of the plan. by 2020 the goal is to raise the graduation rate from 67 percent to 85 percent and increase third graders reading at grade level from 38 percent to 85 percent. wilson wants to basketball teach are pay and make them feel appreciated so they stay and grow their careers in oakland. he became the new superintendent in july. san jose pastor is recovering after being attacked right outside his home on communications hill in san jose. the pastor was attacked last weekend when he and his wife were returning home. many come to this area to use
