minutes later. alyssa harrington has the latest. >> the coast guard just suspended the search indefinitely and that's because there have been no sightings for more than six hours and nobody filed a missing person's report. they are not sure if they are planning to come back out unless they get new information. the surfer was last spotted at approximately 4:45 p.m. and that's when witnesses called 9-1-1 and reporting a surfer in distress. the man was in the water near rockaway beach. he had become separated from his surfboard and seen thrashing his arms. >> i saw a guy surfing over here which was unusual. when he hit the third breakout there, i saw him and his arms went up and he was waiving. >> the fire department and the paramedics were called to the scene to try to rescue the man.

witnesses say the man was moving, but coast guard officials say he was last seen face down about 100 yards offshore. he was wearing a black wetsuit. firefighters and police lost sight before coast guard rescue teams were able to get on scene. the search did continue well into the night and it was just suspended about half an hour ago. the identity of the missing surfer is not known at this time. live in pacifica, abc7 news. >> we are learning about a boy who fell off a cliff in bodega bay. sebastian is doing much better and he can't wait to get out of his cast. the 4-year-old was throwing rocks when he got too close to the edge and fell 225 feet. sebastian came out of a 10-day coma last week. >> a teenager was taking pictures before he fell off the edge of a steep cliff in san jose.

he dropped about a hundred feet in san jose. the boy has moderate to severe injuries including broken bones. 39-year-old miguel was found walking on the tarmac. lilian kim is live with the latest. lilian? >> katie, investigators are looking into how the man snuck on to the tarmac. it is the second time something like this has happened this year. moment when they made the arrest . he breached security at mineta san jose international. police say employees at atlantic aviation spotted him on the loading ramp. >> you never know what the intentions are. i am glad security was able to

get him. >> while he was being held in the lobby he stole a city maintenance truck. it wasn't until he drove to terminal b where he was detained. >> he is from richmond where he lives with his brother. hay told us over the -- he told us over the phone he had no idea why he was at the airport and he might have been on drugs. this is not the first time he has seen a security breech on the tarmac. in april a 15-year-old boy scaled a fence and made his way into the wheel well of a high high an airlines jet surviving a five-hour flight to maui. the big difference in this latest case was the breech was noticed right away. >> people going through a door they are not supposed to go through

trespassing. >> this latest breech comes after this woman, marilyn hartman, sliped past a security check point and boarded a flight and flew to los angeles without a ticket c. police describe hartman as a serial stowaway and she was arrested seven times at sfo before boarding that flight in san jose. >> a grand jury decision at a -- out of ferguson, missouri could come as early as tomorrow. the panel is deciding whether to indict a police officer in the death of a young black man. cities across the u.s. including here in the bay area are preparing for demonstrations following the verdict. >> it has been three and a half months since a white police officer in ferguson, missouri shot and killed may cal brown. a black -- michael. brown. an unarmed 18-year-old. he has been going over testimony and evidence and they are deciding whether or not to charge officer darrin wilson.

at least three cars hit her on the westbound lanes of interstate 580 near the highway 237 interchange. investigators want to know why she was on the freeway. this was just before 5:30 tonight. >> this is not open to any type of traffic. everybody cooperated and everybody pulled over and they are working with the highway patrol. >> the coroner is working to identify the woman. the accident blocked all westbound lanes on 580 until about 8:30 this evening. the highway patrol suspects draifer fatigue -- driver fatigue lead to a deadly tour bus accident. nearly everyone else on board and 31 people in all went to the hospital. the bus was headed from los angeles to pasco, washington.

in tonight's headlines, the coast guard has success spended the search for a missing surfer off the coast of pacifica. witnesses called 9-1-1 around 4:45 to report him thrashing around in the water. his surfboard washed ashore and he was last seen and found 100 yards offshore. investigators want to know how someone sliped by security for the second time this year at mineta san jose international airport. police arrested miguel this morning and they say he sliped on to the tarmac and stole a maintenance truck and tried to evade police. he was caught quickly and is in jail tonight. >> a tired bus driver could be the cause of a deadly tour bus crash in northern shasta county. one man was killed and 30 other passengers went to the hospital. the bus was headed from los angeles to pasco, washington.
