traffic is expected to be a bear. the bay bridge toll plaza shows the far left lane is stacking up and the rest of the travel, though, interest san francisco is not too bad. to the south, the san mateo bridge, the drive is moving along across the water it is nine minutes from hayward to foster city. we have a new accident in san jose with details ahead. in the news, flying home for the thanksgiving holidays could be tougher this year with hundreds of flight already canceled because of bad weather in the country. the business of the travel days of the year is today. nick? we focused on the travelers pulling up at sfo and they said they are watching what is happening and they want to make sure their plans are not interrupted which is what we are seeing, people are trying to get a jump on the business of the travel days. they know weather is coming.

minneapolis turned frightening when a car struck a protest and the woman suffered minor injuries. several hundred gathered near a police outpost to show solidarity with the michael brown procedures and the driver of the car who hit the protester called police soon after to report the incident. >> we are following the protests over the ferguson decision closely both online and on the air. we will bring you major developments during the newscast. our coverage continues on twitter. the air quality district is investigating flames and smoke seen coming from the richmond chevron refinery. the flames and smoke were seen yesterday morning. chevron said it was caused by the safe depressuring of equipment. air quality officials say yesterday was a "spare the air" and the incident was not planned. they are lacking into whether any regulations were violated.

>> covering present, palo alto, the north bay, and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. an 11-year-old still anthro pivot is helping his community, shay launched a nonprofit to help kids explore the joy of sports. physical recently many kids in the basketball league at the boys and girls club played in whatever shoes and colleagues they had like sneakers and flip-flops. shay started a charity to raise $6,000. he delivered 60 gym bags filled with shoes and clothes and basketballs to the kids.
