brought traffic to a standstill one of two bay area protests in the death of a new york city man put in a police chokehold. we are on 101 near university avenue. good morning. traffic was brought to a standstill right here on 101 near the university avenue exit when the protest spills on to the highway they block the both lanes of traffic at 9:30. 200 people matched on to highway 101 in palo alto. drivers were stuck. stanford university students organized this protest. we can for for longer not be heard or not be seen. everyone needs to know so everyone can have an impact. california highway patrol and palo alto police were finally able to steer protesters

out of traffic which was stopped for ten minutes and police made no arrests. this was one of the protests happening around the bay area. other groups protested in san francisco and oakland in reaction to the decision not to invite the officer in the death of eric garner as a result of a chokehold. >> chanting profits were peaceful unlike last week with the ferguson profits, -- protests, a few bottles were thrown. police are represented if there are more protests tonight. this is the incident that led to the death of garner who suffered breezing problems while police tried to restrain him on staten island in july. officers believed he was selling cigarettes illegally. the head of the police officer
