conditions ranging from strong wind to a lost challenging difficult rain. thanks for joining us. it is thursday, december 11 alongside leyla gulen we are watching the roads and mike is keeping us informed with minute to minute updates on the weather. >> other than the stormening an sure ahead of schedule everything else is playing true to form. that is good news. hopefully you are ready for it. we have been giving you a type table for the last 24 hours, and it looks like mother nature is sticking to that but it is coming further south an hour earlier than we thought yesterday. treasure island right there you can see and the bay bridge to berkeley and university avenue, moderate rain. the richmond-san rafael bridge, moderate to moderate-to-heavy rain from richmond to san rafael. from mill valley you can see north through san rafael and fairfax and lucas valley we have

the heavier rain falling right on st. vincent drive at lucas valley road and further to the south, sir francis drake headed to wood acre we are seeing the heavy rain. rohnert park and petaluma is getting a retrieve and you can see lining up just off the coast near pacifica, half moon bay, there is a wave of heavy rain pit the peninsula in the next 20 minutes so get ready from about san mateo north it will look like this. that is what the storm looks like over the bay bridge so stormy conditions with the worst of it through noon and it will become more widespread this afternoon. we will look at this rain, the richmond san rafael toll plaza and the in-driven rain is pouring at the tolls and you make the drive across the water and over to the north bay. we have limited visibility

storms, with no lightning but if there was, it would be from this area with locally heavy rain causing local flooding and fatter gusts. our storm risk is still "high." urban flooding, creek flooding, mud and rock slides, dangerous sub, and wind damage. time table, it will go through the north by at 6:00 to 9:00, an hour ahead so 9:00 to noon around not of the bay and in the south by by noon. we have watches and warnings. drew is in the weather center watching this aspect of the storm. over to drew for the latest. >> we are tracking a slew of advisories in the bay area. in the north by we have seen the heaviest rain with a flood advisory in affect for marin and napa and edward sonoma

causing ponding on the roads. the entire bay area is under a flash flood warnings until tomorrow morning so conditions are possible and we could sigh more flooding on the urban street and small are streams and creeks across the bay area this morning. along with the rain as front moves through the winds are kicking up you can see all the reporters are in man gusty areas with wind topping 50 miles per hour and even higher elevations along the ridge top could be up to 80 miles per hour. the stronger weapons could down the trees and the power lines. the winds are churning outbound the ocean with waves from 14 to 18' high and breakers could exceed 20' this afternoon creating dangerous rip currents across our shore. in the sierra we could see from 6-13" of snow when the system wraps up.

richmond-san rafael toll plaza it is wet gusty, and as you maybe the drive across the water did the north bay it is going to be a soaker. because of the wind, we have c.h.p. issuing high wind advisory for the bay area bridges and what they have done with the golden gate bridge they have changed the lane configuration and we have lanes southbound great san francisco to the north bay traveling along in the north bay, how, you have one lane open, a center lane, to keep you safe from the traffic. we have that one center lane that should protect you there. to the north you have a brand new crash northbound 101 at petaluma boulevard where a big rig stopped behind the other vehicle that spun out and facing the wrong direction and blocking lanes. we have slick conditions and ponding and flooding on our streets and freeways. i let you know more about that in a few minutes. our storm watch coverage continues on the morning news. >> live doppler hd is tracking the rain and wind hitting us right now and we are coming back

here is where we have the heavy rain around those areas. and you can see a lot of oranges and reds. especially along sir francis drake road where we have the heavy rain. it is not leaving mill valley, and sausalito is includeed and heavy rain on theory monday san rafael bridge and downtown san francisco in chinatown, all the way down to san bruno and sfo we have moderate-to-heavy rain headed to alameda and oakland. you will see a downpour any second in your neighbor. this stretches down toed with wood and back. highway 92 to half moon bay and light are rain in the east bay valley and san jose in the south bay right now. it look like the entire system is now starting to gain speed. all of us should be sees waves of moderate-to-heavy rain through the lunch hour. we will get our most damaging

back at 6:40. you can see the heavy rain from vallejo to orinda down toship to san lenadro to the bay bridge where we will see the heaviest rain the next two hours. we have a great chance urban flooding and creek flooding and hud and rock slides and dangerous surf and wind damage much the strongest part of the storm is in the north bay through 8:00 through 10:00 and inland east bay at noon, and south bay gets it from 7:00 to noon so it has been moved up a little bit and the storm is
