the bay area and it is not over yet. here is a look at live doppler 7hd. left over showers lingering. >> tonight the relentless rain is making for dangerous driving conditions and some people are saying enough is enough. >> good evening. i'm dan ashley. >> and i'm ama dates. let's take a live look from our exploratorium camera. it may be coming down out there, but the storms are far from over. >> we will begin with abc7 news meteorologist sandhya patel. you can see the assisteddest and the heaviest rain has shifted east, but we are not done. as you both mentioned, we are still seeing some showers popping up on live dop rear 7hd. and i will take you in a little closer here. as i show you petaluma highway 101d street we are seeing some light showers right now. pulling out we have a few showers and a few very light returns in the east bay from san leandro to hayward and

union city area. check out what is showing up south of tusk ask you dare row. do expect a brief downpour across that region shortly. as you look at the loop here, we have had lightning strikes as well. most of those are over water. the heaviest activity has shifted east, but the concern remains. when you look at 48-hour totals, 48-hour totals, some parts of the north bay more than four inches of rain, places like mill valley. there is still an urban and small stream flood advisory until 11:30 tonight. you have saturated ground and more showers on top of it, and that could cause some more problems. look at the storm reports. this is really looking at 12-hour reports and as you take a look here, you will see what kind of reports we have had. nine reports of flooding and nonthunderstorm wind damage. it has been a messy one. rainfall tote tails more than an inch in half moon bay and

commute soggy and treacherous. lots of standing water. monique is heading home from work. >> i will be prepared to take the drive all the way to novato with the flooded freeways. >> heavy rains caused this small mudslide in tiburon. most of the debris washed down the hill into a home swimming pool. the day luge caused storm drains to back up and flood the area around tib -- tiburon town hall. good samaritans came to help clean up the mess. bayside nursery got lots of water they didn't need. >> i am shocked at how much rain we had. we emptied the rain gauge and we had four inches of rain overnight. >> marin county officials have declared an emergency. last week's storm caused more than a million dollars in damage to county roads and levies. the action will bring state and federal aid.

rain pelted shoppers in cor tau madera. many packed up early. a week before christmas and this mall should be packed with shoppers. tonight it is deserted. >> we need the rain, but we need the customers to come in. >> for the past week employees have been very lonely. >> the rain comes in the evening and nobody is coming to eat in the restaurants here either. it is a same. it is a shame. it definitely has impacted our sales. >> luckily there is no flood threat. lots of water on the move. we are live in san anselmo, cornell bernard,abc7 news. >> thank you very much. access to a popular marin county trail head parking lot is closed. a mudslide is blocking tennessee valley road about a quarter of a mile east of the trail head and the golden gate national recreation area. marin county maintains the road and says it will be closed for at least 48 hours, but again more rain is coming at the end of the week. >> in santa rosa, a huge you

caw help toc -- eucalyptus tree fell trapping a driver. a crew worked to clean it up. >> the rain-slicked roads may be to blame for a crash. a car slid into two other vehicles. two people were taken to the hospital. in san mateo, huge drops pummeled the streets. the rain came down so quickly that it started backing up streams. the south bay really got hammered by the storm last week. and it really got its share again tonight. a lot of rain in a short amount of time means problems. lisa amin gulezian is live along 280 with flooding and downed trees. >> we are on the bird avenue overpass and from here we have a great vantage point. at one point both north and southbound -- parts of north and southbound 280 were closed, but look now.

everything is fortunately wide open. two lanes about a half mile before race street reopened about 30 minutes ago. they were closed and it confused drivers who were stoping short and the traffic backed up quickly. and just across the freeway on 280 south, the bird avenue exit was blocked for a short time due to flooding. the water receded and the lane reopened about an hour ago. the rain meantime has been coming down hard all over the south bay for the past several hours. in santa clara, a huge pine tree came crashing down on a duplex on burbank drive. one unit got the brunt of the damage. in fact, a man was sleeping in a room toward the front of the house when the tree fell. >> it was traumatizing because the tree covers the whole structure. we are just glad nobody got hurt. >> the tree finally fell. it was going on on for some time. it was just a matter of time.
