bright orange flames but look what happened last night: this got a lot of attention. it was a larger than average flare and you could see it from san francisco produced in the chevron richmond refinery at 7:00 last night and twitter blew up with people with a lost questions on what it was. the mayor elect posted open his facebook saying it was the biggest flaring seen at chevron in years. chevron said it burned off excess fuel to detreasurized and shut down a refinery units. contra costa built haz-mat was on the scene. >> something is not running normal. at this point i cannot speculate what went wrong. chevron says there has been no exact to the community and the refinery is showing the air quality is well in q standards.
