how wet is it? >> kristen, it is. coming down. my mission was to find the rain. high photographer and i have been riding around trying to understand what, exactly, we are seeing in marin and we checked out an area that had experienced a mudslide. on tuesday they had the put slide and the residented experienced flooding. it looks good. like everyone else we are keeping our eyes on the sky to see how much rain coming down. we know we have been in a drought so we are enjoying the rain but too much too soon has caused the particular flooding. what we do know is that here in marin they are prepared, they are saying if we do have instances of flash flooding we will provide sandbags so right now we are trying to keep an eye on things and the heavier stuff is expected later today toward

richmond residents are warned the chevron refinery may show flames after dramatic flaring last night visible for miles. the word from chevron, it is not a health risk to the neighbors. amy hollyfield is at the refinery. kristen, it looked scary but chevron says it was nothing to worry about. here is what people could see last night from all the way from last night from all the way from across the bay, a one official said this is not something you want to be breathing. chef reason says the public was not at risk and no one was hurt. monitor showed the air was fine. haz-mat was on scene monitoring the situation and helping explain what was happening. >> they take the excess fuel in the unit and send it to a smokestack where there is a fire on top that burns off the excess

chemical. here is a statement from chevron: there has been in impact to the community. the refinery shows the air quality is within quality standards. there is in flaring this morning. it is quiet. nothing to see. we are told there were no injuries. >> the flareup was a chilling reminder of an explosion and fire at the refinery in august of 2012. thousands of people when to the local hops complaining of breathing problems. chevron was fined $2 million. this morning, 100 belmont residents are home after the storm displaced them from a mobile home park. 11 families with kids in the school district will receive visa, target and safway cars today to use for food, clothing or christmas gifts.

are kicking up at 10 or 15 miles per hour. what that means from yesterday to today the storm is moving slower so the rain is around longer especially in the south bay this evening. walnut creek shows 680 is fairly dry. steady rain to afternoon showers is what the cold front brings us, rain in the north bay tomorrow night and dry and warm through next week. the front shows the energy headed to the north and because we have the cold front it will be a rainy commute. as the cold front draws near through lunch we will get more in the way of moderate rain so urban flooding with downed trees possible and mud and rock slides are slight. >> watch as this comes down and you can see the showers ahead of it and the steady rain moving influence the north bay by noon moving through the heart of the bay and notice how slowly it sinks and barely moves by 5:00
