neither rain nor flooding from kin-size tide consistent this postal worker from his appointed rounds but mother nature is presenting new challenges in the north bay. just days after flooding from storms caused trouble in parts of the north bay, high water is back. it's the king tides that are creating problems. cornell bernard is live in mill valley tonight. reporter: this is one holiday gift that really nobody wanted. the king tide are back with a vengeance. over six feet. it's low tide right now, but the king tides will be back in a few short hours, and when they do they'll cut off access to homes

and businesses. get to go mill valley off highway 101 was challenging sunday. the stinson beach exit closed when eye king tides caused flooding. caltrans crews shut down the shoreline highway after it vanished underwater. a sunday ride for josh and lonny was super soggy. >> we just washed off our bikes and all covered in salt water. >> i didn't expect it our hotel would be this close to the ocean. quite a deal. >> the water flooded the parking lot of the holiday inn express. driving through wasn't easy. then we spotted this. dedicated postal worker trying to get this holiday packages delivered. >> were you sure the truck would get through? >> i have to be very careful. we still have to go through. >> andy was cut off from his job site so he put on rubber boots and hauled his welding tank through the water on a wagon. >> i'm living hand to mouth and

doing what i and can when i can. now i've been painted into a corner. i just have to get to work and this is how. >> king tides last several days caused by the gravitational pull on the moon. >> i'm not worried about the seaplanes. i'm worried about the buildings. >> the pilot tried to keep high tides out of the office. the pumps are working as fast as they can. they have been on duty for weeks >> we got three pumps all over the place, sandbags everywhere. sand bags on the airplanes. you name it. >> all this water just a preview. the biggest tides of the season are expected in january in mill valley, cornell bernard, abc7 news. >> for more on where we will see some of the biggest impact from the tides we'll turn to abc7 news meteorologist drew tuma. >> we're going to see the minor

flooding in fact the next couple of days. coastal flood advisory through tuesday afternoon until 3:00, where you see the areas in green, and around the bay for that localized flooding, that seawater moving into the roadways, sidewalks, and trails. i'll show you high tide times. around san francisco tomorrow, high tide, right around 10:58. a. on tuesday, 11:45. in east bay, oakland, 11:15:00 a.m. and on tuesday, exactly noon. so be prepared that some seawater may move into the low-lying areas. we're officially starting starte winter season. we'll have the full accuweather seven-day forecast. >> police in florida have captured a man they believe killed an officer early this morning. someone opened fire on officer charles kondek when he was respond egging to a call for service in tarpon springs north of tampa. a local newspaper reports kondek

was the father of five children. he had been an officer in florida for 17 years. before that he spent five years as a member of the new york city police department. in new york today, sadness and outrage following yesterday's killings of two police officers, gunned down bay man who may have been motivated by revenge. tonight, a growing candlelight village tell site of the shootings in brooklyn. here's the latest on the investigation. reporter: at the brooklyn police precinct, funeral bunting instead of a christmas wallet. at the site where the fell, makeshift memorial, bearing witness to the double murders. >> they were quite simply assassinated. >> eating lunch in their marked patrol car, the men were jumped by 28-year-old ismaaiyl brinsley, who shot them both point blank in the head. >> we found two males who spoke with the perpetrator, and he said, watch what i'm going to do. >> as fellow officers closed in the, brinsley rand to a nearby

good news for commuters who use the ferry from lack spur to san francisco. golden gate transit officials are adding another run to the

morning schedule. officials will add an 8:40 a.m. trip to handle a growing number of morning commuters. officials say morning peak ferries to san francisco typically sell out and golden gate transit buses are used to accommodate excess riders. the 8:40 trip is expected to relieve overcrowding on the earlier ferry. >> a silicon valley charity will hand out thousands of toys to children starting are tomorrow but they need more donations. sacred heart community service in san jose says it's still short 4,000 toys. volunteers are spending their weekend getting donations ready for one of south bay's largest toy give away eventses. sacred heart still needs toy mostly for teenages ages 13 to 17. >> many of us pick up dinner at the drive-through, today people were dropping off food and other items. volunteers helped unload the cars of people making donations at the st. anthony foundation's
