look at the temperature we are dealing with. the temperature is 36 right here in downtown san rafael at the first republic bank. it is cold. it is dry. it is a "spare the air" day. officials in the bay area estimate there are 1.4 million fireplaces in the bay area so when all of them start burning the soot accumulates in the air leading to unhealthy levels and make breathing tough. you are not allowed to burn a fire today. if you do, it will cost you. >> if you burn on "spare the air" day which is illegal, you can get a fine of $100 to $500. you have the option of taking what is called smoke school like traffic school for wood burners and to educate yourself and that way you do not have to pay the fine. and it is drive the homeless

covering san rafael, south bay, pleasanton and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. new this morning, crews is recovered the bodies of at least 30 airasia victims. according to a navy official five were found still strapped in their seats. the passenger plane crashed into the java sea on sunday with 162 on board. the head of indonesia national search-and-rescue agency says the search will be stepped up if the weather cooperates with ships from indonesia malaysia

singapore and the united states are trying to pinpoint the debris. an asset is the uss sonar equipment. the airasia black boxes have not been recovered. crews have found an evacuation slide, a life jacket and emergency door and luggage. the wreckage of a charred greek ferry reached an italian port. firefighters and a prosecutor will soon board the wreck with the wreckage and the search for additional bodies from the blaze that killed 11. towing began yesterday and lasted 17 hours. it lit says daring rescuers pulled 477 people from the top deck of ship in gale force winds. 100 people are missing.
