made it a teaching moment. >> we are the children, mighty, mighty children. >> march through the lake shore district? oakland. these demonstrators barely old enough to read and write but wise enough to know the difference between right and wrong. the group marched through the farmers market getting attention. >> as a group of parents really concerned by the issues happening with people being killed by the police and the backlash as a result of that and we wanted our kids to be engaged in the discussion. >> talking about racial injustice isn't easy with little kids, so they called on dr. seuss. >> they were really quite small. you might think such a thing wouldn't matter at all. >> the speeches teach tolerance and acceptance when one group with stars fir the bellies and those without.

the conversation about police brutality against unarmed black men. they apologized for the inconvenience but say many people seemed receptive to their message. >> police officers from across the country are in new york city this weekend to honor a second nypd officer who was killed in the line of duty. despite snow and cold temperatures, hundreds of people attended the wake of officer wenjiian liu today. men and women in uniform linedded the streets help was shot to death in his patrol car two weeks ago along with officer ramos who was laid to rest last weekend. governor andrew cuomo paid his respects as he plans funeral services for his father former new york governor mario cuomo. >> he would have wanted me here and sandy here to express our condolences on behalf of the people of the state of new york. my father would have been here today. i wanted to be here today. >> thousands of people are expected to attend tomorrow's funeral service for officer liu.

to developing news in the airasia plane search. official says they're confident wreckage of flight 8501 has been located. sonar equipment detected four massive objects on the floor of the sea. fishing out the black boxes is now top priority. one week ago the airasia flight with 162 people onboard disappeared off radar and into the sea for reasons still not known. at least 30 bodies have been recovered as well as this debris. these pictures posted on facebook by indonesia's defense minister. two u.s. warships are now looking for victims and more debris. >> we are relying on radar sonar, helicopters and even personnel with using your eyes looking out for debris or recognizable aircraft part. >> bad weather has hindered the search and storms are expected to continue until tomorrow. another plane crash, this one involves an incredible story

of survival. a seven-year-old girl is alive tonight after the plane she was in went down killing her entire family. investigators are now trying to figure out what went wrong as the plane plummeted into the kentucky woods. here's the latest. reporter: all started with a knock at larry wilkins'front door. >> open opened the door and little girl about seven years old, bloody. she told me her parents were dead and she had been in a plane crash. >> the disorient seven-year-old the sole survivor of a crash that killed her entire family. >> seven-year-old just came out of the woods alone scratched up and i think she was involved in plane crash. >> in the faa confirms that late friday evening air traffic control just outside memphis lost contact with a plane traveling from key west to illinois. the pilot had sent a distress call reporting an engine failed. minutes later the piper plane crashed into a remote wooded

to mid-40s. i am tracking much warmer air on the way. >> thank you. winter break was anything but relaxing at newark memorial high school where a ruptured pipe flooded classrooms. crews have been cleaning up since the pipe burst on december 23rd. the superintendent says water up to three feet deep caused millions of dollars in damage to eight classrooms. classes will be moved to another building likely for the rest of the year. no word yet on what caused the pipe to burst but the school district says nothing appears suspicious. a christmas tree is being blamed for starting a fire that burped a home in antioch. it happened on san jose drive also before noon a battalion chief on scene says 15-year-old and another juvenile were home at the time. they first smelled smoke then saw their christmas tree on fire and were able to get themselves out of the house safely. three people are now displaced. the battalion chief says this is a reminder to everyone to get

planning officials are asking a northern california couple to downsize their deluxe treehouse. the sacramento bee got a tour of the treehouses' posted this video. the house features a full kitchen and bathroom but the county planning department says the kitchen and mattress must go because the family already has a full guest cottage on the property. the treehouse's openers have not said yet what they plan to do. it was noted national treehouse designer who built the masterpiece for more than
