good thursday morning to you all. we have new developments in the terror attack that has stunned france and the world. >> overnight police made arrests in connection with the rampage in paris. but two of the main suspects are still on the loose. >> meanwhile this morning flags, the presidential palace at half-staff as a day of mourning gets under way for the 12 people killed. >> overnight crowd as cross france and other countries holding up pens during demonstrations a show of support for freedom of speech. abc's alex marquardt is there. alex. >> reporter: good morning, t.j. and reena. france is reeling from this attack. the worst terrorist attack in half a century. french authorities have named the three men they believe took part in the attack and one of them, an 18-year-old, has already turned himself in to police in a town about 2 1/2 hours northeast of paris. police have put out a wanted poster for the other two men who they say are armed and

dangerous. brothers in their 30s named said and cherif kouachi. cherif was sentenced to three years in prison in 2008 for sending young men to war. they called out the names of the victims and shot them one by one. president obama spoke to president hollande from france to express his condolences and tens of thousands gathered across france to mark this tragic event. in paris, holding up signs saying "we are not afraid" and in french "i am charlie" tweeted more than 650,000 time. president hollande declared thursday to be a national day of mourning. flags will fly at half-staff and at noon there will be a minute of silence to remember the dead. t.j. reena. >> thanks alex. the parachuting rampage was

carefully orchestrated. >> dressed head to toe in combat outfits. they even wore special shooting gloves and appeared calm as they executed a police officer on the sidewalk. >> this was a hit. a professional hit. they were cool calm and collected. they had fire discipline. their bullets hit the targets. >> and look at this. experts say the tight cluster of bullet holes you see in this car, the windshield shows just how well trained the men are with an automatic weapon. the terror attack brings to mind the recent deadly shootings in canada and australia. >> but, of course in this case it was not a lone wolf operation, it was likely carried out by a hidden terror cell now cause for great concern. more now from abc's martha raddatz. >> reporter: the recent attacks in canada the recent attacks in australia were carried out by people who appeared to be inspired by isis online but didn't really know much about it. those so-called lone wolves who were likely mentally disturbed

our car is embedded underneath of it. >> police finally flagged down the truck driver. the mentzs suffered only bumps and bruises but their minivan was undrivable with the wheels torn down to the metal. the urgent search for more pieces of the airasia jet in the wears off indonesia. abc's muhammad lila was aboard the "uss sampson" as they worked to locate more wreckage. divers have been deciding how to get to the flight data recorders, black boxes, often in the tail section that's been located but it's upside down and partially buried which is making progress slow. salvage equipment may be needed. officials in north texas are working on new emergency plans after getting hit by at least 11 earthquakes in a 24-hour period. the quakes in the dallas area have been as strong as 4.0 magnitude causing huge cracks in homes, scientists are trying to determine if they're being triggered by wastewater from oil

overseas stocks are mostly higher this morning after a good day for u.s. markets. after a five-day slump, the dow closed up over 200 points. a slight gain of nearly 1.25%.

investors are putting hopes on a boost in oil prices being a sign of a strengthening global economy. well, cadillac's hopes of commanding higher prices are fading after poor sales of its cts midsize sedan. gm's struggling brand is slashing the prices of its option packages by as much as $3,000. the price cuts are seen as an embarrassing admission that cadillac's attempts to boost prices on increasingly unreliable vehicles has flopped. and get ready for more clydesdales. canines during anheuser-busch's super bowl ads, the company is following up on last year's puppy love spot in one of its two spots for budweiser. they will also air a bud light commercial during the february 1st game. 95% of the commercials have been sold. ads are going for $4.5 million. that's for a 30-second ad. well, nike is going back to the future literally saying it will release sneakers like the ones worn by marty mcfly,

911 from his cell phone but the phone cut out before he could give the location. that's when the quick-thinking dispatcher looked up pritchard on facebook where he posted on his profile the trail on which they'd be hiking that day. >> without that facebook posting, we would not have known where to go. and it's an extremely rugged area up there and because of the picture on facebook, we were able to see the lake. >> pritchard was rescued, flown to the hospital where he's recovering from head injuries. this is a frightening collision to show you here in new mexico. take a look. police say a pickup truck ran a red light, smashed into a city bus, and look what happens, the bus then crashed head on into a road sign and the driver flying through the windshield. looks bad, looks real bad. he got out with only minor injuries. officials say the driver was not wearing his seat belt. now in health headlines this morning, word that guacamole is good for your heart. researchers found that eating an avocado a day lowered bad cholesterol. a sample menu included chicken salad with half an sav caddo for lump
