during a "day of mourning." authorities are hunting for two armed men one believed to have ties with al qaeda suspected in the deadly attack at "charlie hebdo" office in paris. they are identified as brothers in their 30's and a third suspect surrendered to police last night and cnn is reporting that police have detained seven people so far in connection with the attack. also investigators are trying to determine if a separate shooting of a police woman on the southern edge of paris could be linked to the attack. the officer died. the shooter is still loose. we will have a report from washington, dc with the latest in the next half hour. the bay area is showing its sympathy to the victims of the attack with hundreds holding a victim ill in their honor at the french consulate in san francisco. our reporter is at the consulate. amy? some people say they just felt so sad they did not know

where else to go so they came here. the size of the crowd was a surprise. they were landing to gather on the sidewalk but look how many people came they had to shut down the street in front of the consulate to handle all of the people. they did not just have the usual candles but held up pens in tribute to those killed a local political cartoonist in the bay area said he came to the vigil because he lost one of his idols in the attack. >> incredible. some of my favorite cartoonist a guy i grew up reading and followed as a kid. he has influenced high graphic style as i draw my cartoons. i see a limit bit of him cropping up in my work. >> people who are from paris living here say it is hard to be far away from home dug the time of tragedy, but the support in the bay area makes it a little easier. the hope among the crowd is the newspaper will be reborn.

twitter@abc7newsbayarea. san mateo residents can return home after police successfully captured the second of two armed burglary suspects. the police action led to a shelter-in-place order and we were on south fremont street. it is convey it in the san mateo neighborhood but it was a long night for police and makes and it all started when police received a call from a person who witnessed a car burglary at 7:30 last night. that witness description of suspects in the vehicle led police to try and stop a vehicle. short pursuit took place and the car crashed near south fremont and the passenger was arrested but the driver ran off. >> the officers believed a suspect was armed and fled to the apartment building so a perimeter was set up and we called a squat to secure the perimeter and after about two hour search the suspect was
