think are somewhat liberal together with justice kennedy and i think john roberts be will realize that history is on the side of same-sex marriage. >> little believes the court will make a decision because the supreme court acted so quickly to grant the review. that's what he told us today from the uc-hastings school of la. it could happen sometime before june. in february, 2004 -- san francisco began issuing same-sex marriage licenses till an order to stop from the california supreme court. in 2006, the legislature passed a bill legalizing same-sex marriage. then vetoed by governor arnold schwarzenegger in 2005. three years later proposition 8 passed banning same-sex marriage. in 2010 problem significance 8 was ruled unconstitutional as you may recall. in 2013 the supreme court upheld the decision making same-sex marriage legal again in california. then today, the supreme court agreed to decide the issue for the entire nation during this term.

. the national park service is hoping that grazing goats can help reduce the spread of wild radish, poison hemlock and invasive vegetation growing inside pt. reyes national seashore. the new project begins this month on 12 ache serious ill-advised the historic d ranch. with the closest station five miles away, one east bay community is celebrating the return of its own firehouse today. station 1 in clayton reopened quietly this morning. it's been shut down since 2012 because of budget cuts during the recession. laura anthony has the story. >> reporter: two and a half years after it closed, station 11 in clayton is back in business, now staffed with the

one engine and three firefighters, 24/7. >> the economy has begun to recover, and we're far enough into the recovery now where we actually start to see some of the benefits from that. >> reporter: the district also received $9.6 million federal grant that helped them reopen the station sooner than expected. station 11 was closed in 2012 when one of several in contra costa county shut down due to budget cuts. in september 2013 when the mount diablo fire started on the east side, the engine from clayton would have been the first one in. >> knowing the area and response times, it would have made a tremendous difference if there was a crew here. it may -- it probably would not have gotten as large as it did. >> this is a great day. >> clayton's city councilmen jim diaz lobbied for the station' reopening. >> like many communities, the community is aging and so they want to make sure they have

>> del rio also mentioned he received assurances from davis the team is committed to staying in oakland. he comes to oakland after spending three years as the assistant coach in denver and nine years as a head coach in jacksonville. >> raiders general manager reggie mckenzie spent part of the morning of it testifying in an age discrimination lawsuit. mckenzie testified he fired them because he did not think they were good enough to head the football team's scouting operation. mckenzie fired the 68-year-old and 59-year-old king don after he took control of the team in 2012. each spent more than 30 years with the raiders. >> the demolition of candle stick park is going to start later this month. but the aging ballpark will not be imploded. the developer says it's gotten the necessary work and will begin by the end the january. they will use hi-tech excavators to polarize the ballpark section
