>> napa county sheriff's office has released new video of two persons of interest in ht thedeath of a 57-year-old rohnert park woman. investigators say maria bejar met up with two men at a restaurant on november 14 the night before she died. all three then left that bar and went to another restaurant in santa rosa. the next morning, bejar's body was found lying in the roadway on highway 29. investigators say she had been hit by a car. a memorial keeps growing for a mother of three killed in a cross fire of a suspected gang shooting in san francisco. police believe the victim was hit while police and two people in cars fired at each other yesterday afternoon. a man in one of those cars also died. the medical examiner says he's 38-year-old donte glenn. a woman who was with glenn is recovering from gunshot wounds. a individual why taken

yesterday at the hall of justice is increasing tensions mopping ss among police and public defender's office. it caught a confrontation as two men were exiting a courtroom. police sergeant tried to question them regarding another case, but a public defender stepped in to counsel the suspects and police handcuffed that attorney for interfering. >> this is not guantanamo bay. you have a right to have a lawyer with you when you're questioned. and she was simply doing her job. >> she was kept this handcufs for more than an hour. she was eventually cited for obstruction. san francisco police claim the officer acted appropriately. >> in was for a separate matter, not for the ones that they were in court for. and the sergeant has the right and obligation and duty to conduct his investigation. >> police say the public defender did not have a right to interfere because her client was not being formally interrogated for a crime. a 19-year-old stanford

student is scheduled to be a rained monday on suspected rape. brock turner was arrested last week after witnesses say they saw him on top of an unconscious woman. two bicyclists were able to scare the suspect off of her and then held him until police arrived. turner is currently out on $150,000 bail. a woman is recovering after being rescued from the bay in one of san francisco's most popular tourist spots. >> amy hollyfield has video that you'll see only on abc 6. >> reporter: what would he leave this woman must have felt. she definitely looks exhausted. rescue crews got the call that she had fall nn to theen into the water at 10:42 and she pulled her to safety after 13 long minutes. witnesses say they tried to keep her calm while waiting for help. >> she was screaming for help. and we were just guiding her. she was just swimming over here and then the firefighter came. are the firefighters took her to the hospital to get checked out,

exercising their legal right. we wish we weren't in this position. >> reporter: both the union and district are in the middle of contract negotiations. the district is offering a 10% hike over three years. the teachers want a slightly higher increase. but a major sticking point is over class sizes nofor kids with special needs. they want a hard cap. >> they need the most help they need the most time of teacher and of instruction al assistance. >> reporter: the district says a hard cap would force them to hire more teachers. >> only because we don't want to be bound into a situation that would be catastrophic for the district financially if the revenue projections fail to meet expectations. >> reporter: the district has already agreed to reduce the student/teacher ratio in transitional kindergarten through third grade to an average of 24. in the meantime, some teachers will continue it work to rule until an agreement is reached.

direction. they will also add bike lanes and a two way left turn lane. farming hill connects downtown redwood city. and caltrans is changing the way south bay commuters get on to highway 85. 15 on ramp metering lights went online today. from cupertino to mountain view. they're timed to turn on the at 6:00 a.m. and off at 11:00 a.m. monday through friday. the goal is to ease traffic congestion. last week caltrans activated seven new meergttering lights southbound during the evening commute. apple closed higher at 115.3 after reporting record earnings in the fourth quarter. "usa today" reports cooper teeupertino company is doing so well it could pay every man women and child in the u.s. $556 each. apple has a record amount of

on the dense side especially early thursday morning. live look outside just a delightful picture on the bay waters. a light chop. we have high clouds, but leaptplenty of sunshine. the forecast does call for areas of fog overnight. mild days continue through the weekend. and no sign on the horizon of any significant rainfall. and the reason why, not one not two, we have three areas of high pressure blocking all of these storms pushing them well north continuing that pattern of january dryness through the next couple of days. the high pressure is certainly he rebuilding. we'll look into the long range forecast and see if we can find moisture. there is some that does develop in the desert southwest. it stays to the east of the bay area over the weekend. and as we go into february, there is the chance at least the second week of february a cold front approaches the region but this is still ten days out. so basically you're wish casting. but it's something we'll keep our eye on.

but certainly is a very significant trend we've had. the last time we have had rain here in the bay area, christmas eve. ever since then, dry dry, dry. and even into january. we're on a 35 day consecutive streak. and counting. we keep records back until 1860. and we've never had a january that has been completely dry. so this could be a first for us. good afternoon. we have one coming out of the bay waters right now. folk bes coming home. this would be the first in january pa that we would have dry conditions. so we'll keep you posted. hoping for some rainfall. overnight low, we'll see 30s in the authoritynorth bay. thursday ample sunshine. a little bit 6of haze with high cloud. 66 in san jose. 7 day forecast pretty consistent pattern.

a slide like this one was scheduled to hit more than a dozen city this is summer. it looks like fun, but paul duffy sights concerns about the drought as his many reason to keep those slides out of california. more than 500 people have signed his petition since it was posted. there is concern in san diego kauptcounty over sea lion pups. more than 50 were rescued off peaches in the last few week. most are sick and malnourished. each weighs around 20 to 25 pound, just over birth weight. experts say the high number of recent duescues isn't normal. >> that's unusual in january. so we do have concerns if this continues at this rate will this could be a bad year forle california sea lion pups. pups can't dive deep enough to

california health officials say electronic cigarettes are a health threat and they should be strictly regulated. a new report out today says e-cigarettes emit cancer causing chemicals and can get users hook order nicotine. other states including oklahoma and arkansas already have advised advisories. a new campaign urges women to smear their lipstick on social media. it's part of a campaign to fight cervical cancer. apencourage women to get their annual pap sneer exams. the goal is to spread the word by nominating friends to post their open smeared lipstick selfies. organizers hope it will go viral. pop francis is asking fathers to step up their games. he said too many dads are often absent and disappear from family life dedicate themselves to work or other interests. his comments were contrary to a

napa county sheriff hope to identify the two men last seen with 57-year-old maria bejar the night of november 15. investigators retraced her steps and found she visited three restaurant bars the night before she was found on highway 29 in napa county. >> the video shows the victim with two hispanic males. we have them identify as persons of interest number one and number two. number twonone has a slight goatee and he seems to be the primary person most closely associated with mrs. bejar that night. >> reporter: bejar was toundfound the next morning barely alive on a mountainous road. >> she had major trauma that we were able later to determine appeared to be caused from being struck or run over by a vehicle. >> reporter: police believe bejar met the two men at her
