case. >> 19-year-old brock turner walked into the palo alto court house with his attorney and dad. they had no comments. in the court the former stanford swimmer's attorney entered a plea to five fell any charge -- five felony attempted charges. >> the prosecutor says that this case is important. >> these tips of sexual assaults happen on campuses at parties, all across the country. sadly they often go unreported or worse, not able to proceed on the cases. >> this morning turner spoke once in the courtroom after the judge issued a protective order for the alleged victim. the judge denied a request by the against to allow turner to misfuture hearings because he is currently living in ohio with his family. he told police he met the woman at a party and were hooking up the he said they were both enjoying the activity but never had sex. >> woman said she was drinking and has no memory leaving the party with man and does not

consent to sexual activity. two graduate students were credited with stopping the assault on the stanford campus january 18. they tackle turner and held him until police arrived. >> if they are listening thank you. thank you for doing the right thing. because of their actions, they stopped the sexual assault and more importantly they apprehended a suspect which allows the police officers to arrest him. >> turner's next hearing is march 30 and he faces ten years in prison if convicted. thanks. a pair of overnight fires in oakland at a vacant auto shop caused 500,000 in damage. we were identifyhead when flames brought down the roof of the building at 185th. the news group reported that this was the first fire reporting at 2:15 in the morning and out in half an hour.

san francisco police have notified us they are asking for searching for a missing and endangered adult who was recorded missing by relatives on january 26. he was last seen at marina post office on lombard. if you see him please call police. >> 400 union workers at the refinery in martinez are on strike but shutting down the plant for safety reasons before they hilt the picket line. we got pictures of the refeignry this morning with no pickets up. the shut down will be finished by thursday. the workers are taking part in a walk out by the united steel workers union and refineries in california texas and connecticut. working conditions and staffing are said to be unsafe and the company is offering a fair contract. united states oil surprises rose over concerns on supply but the increase probably will not

>> atmospheric river is the technical term bringing us the heavy rain. we have one setting up right now and the bull's eye in northern california could work its way toward us headed to the weekend. until then we had a gorgeous sunrise from sky 7 and you could see it was hovering over the east bay hills looking to mount diabolo, absolutely stunning, as the sun continues to come up a little bit more and more to the north than it used to. live doppler hd has clear conditions. the rain is up north that is where it will stay. we will have a last high clouds mixed in with sunshine over the next couple of afternoons and you can see it coming in from the west. nothing will fall from this and if it does it will evaporate. from the east bay hills camera you can see we have moderate pollution with the haze hanging

in the air and same thing over san francisco as we look from shut to tower to the headlands and oakland has the poorest air quality and the temperature are 58 degrees. most of us in the mid-to-upper 50's to low 60's if you are headed out. from the east bay you can see the high clouds out there and hock hog you have seen the movie right, same thing happens over and over and over, 39 days without rain and above average temperatures for most of those and fog returns tonight. get ready if you are headed out remainly tomorrow and wednesday morning and the storms are possible thursday through monday. here is a look at today's temperatures i would say mid-to-upper 60's and a few areas may get nearly 70 but with the cloud deck being thicker than i not we may not quite get to 70. tonight will be milder than this morning because of the blanket of fog. we will be in the mid-40's to low 50's and it looks like fog everywhere. can you see a couple of areas of low spinning to the north with the storm track and as long as

it stays there we are dry for the next couple of days. we are moving into thursday in the north bay the best chance is friday moving crass all of our neighbors, and again on saturday and on sunday too monday is the lesser of the two storms coming through and potential rainfall amounts up to 6-8" in crescent city and 3-5 in the north bay and 1" in the south. that is more like winter. and lake tahoe, finally, tapping interest that with all of the snow going to fall friday, saturday, and sunday and it could be heavy at times if this atmospheric river ever rent does pan out. they usually do. it is where will they dump the biggest load? we will find that out when we get close are. high clouds in the afternoon temperatures are cooler tomorrow and wednesday and we will be in the low-to-mid 60's, when the wet weather begins thursday through the weekend. we may have to sacrifice the
