live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> happening now a new theory of what may have contributed to the deadly plane crash into a river in taiwan, barely missing homes and highway traffic. >> good morning, i am kristen sze. >> i am eric thomas. the flight just took off moments before hitting the water. 31 of the 58 people on board were killed. 13 are still missing and two on the ground are injured. >> a close look at shocking crash video could contain a major clue as to what want wrong. our reporter is in the newsroom and joined with the latest.

>> that is right. investigators are looking at the left engine. this footage from taiwan is an incredible view that is horrify showing the transasia flight after take off and the unthinkable the plane cart wheeling over a highway, slamming into a barrier and crushing a passing taxi as it goes into the river. >> these are the last seconds of transasia flight 235 as it clips the bridge and crashes into the river. watch again, camera video catching the prop dipping the wing as it crosses the bridge with 58 on board. rescue workers took inflatable boats to get to the fuselage in the river pulling survivors including children from the wreckage. there are many dead and many passengers still missing. the plane was only nine months old and inspected just weeks ago. it took off just before 11 o'clock am from the taiwan capital headed to nearly islands.

with's -- a woman's body. matt will guide us through this. >> the vehicle was towed away. the treat, coyote street is open to traffic. the investigation shows police collecting evidence. >> this is an unusual case in milpitas. a cadillac wanted in a hit-and-run accident was stopped in the middle of coyote street with a barrier blocking a devastating discovery: a female body on the ground. this is the intersection and police say at 3:30 this morning a garbage truck and a vehicle got into an accident. you can see all of the debris left behind. police say the driver was able to continue to drive on. half a mile away. the driver made it all the way here to redwood avenue and took a right turn and was able to make it up here to coyote street

where police found her car on fire and her body next to the body. >> officers put the fire out but the female victim died at the scene. they say the cadillac she was driving was turning left from north milpitas boulevard and it was broadsided by the garbage truck. the questions police are trying to answer: who is this woman? why did she leave the scene of the accident? officers are vetoing -- investigating if drugs were involved and was she disoriented after suffering a head injury. >> that is a possible the without the official investigation done by the coroner i could not tell you if that is the case. say the garage truck was towed and that driver was not seriously hurt and cooperating with police. >> police ran the cadillac license plate and it was not reported stolen and they hope to use that vehicle information to help identify the driver.

>> two toll plaza booths on the golden gate bridge are open after a crash this morning. the c.h.p. tells the driver hit the divider at the booth. that person was hurt. two tollbooths were closed. the scene now is clear, though. antioch police are asking for help to get information of a crash that killed a motorcyclist. the crash happened before 8:00 last night near 13th street. rescuers found a 29-year-old man with major injuries. he died later at the hospital. if you know anything abut the crash call antioch police. in the south base investigators are looking into a fire across the street from an elementary school. this is video you will see only on abc of the duplex where the fire broke out. firefighters were still putting water on the fire when our crew arrived on the scene and it happened across the street from the elementary school at 2:15.

police arrested him on friday accusing him of killing a man and leaving the victim's headless and handless torso to a suitcase. the man is not identified. police and d.a. have a different standard of proof. the police need probable cause to make an arrest the prosecutor have to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt and did not thing they could. police say this doesn't mean they are discouraged but they need to keep pocking the case. >> investigators are still working hard. they are chasing leads. it doesn't mean we stop doing with we are doing. they are chasing leads, looking at evidence, trying to determine what happened here. we are waiting for the medical examiner to come back with results. from there, that will help the investigation proceed. >> police released a surveillance video of andrus in the area where the suitcase was pound and they have not released any other details of evidence against him. defense attorneys say he has no comment. police say the d.n.a. tests on
