driver who tried to run over a police officer forcing the officer to open fire on the suspect's car when the under core officer tried to stop a mercedes s.u.v. in sunnyvale a short distance from santa collar last night. officers say the officer was next to his car and nearly hit bit mercedes. we are at the scene and matt will have more from what the suspect was wanted for at 6:30. >> a wild police chase if los angeles a driver load on a crime spree across the california streets during rush hour. >> the suspect attempted to carjack two drivers. he ran stoplights he drove on the wrong side of the road to avoid officers. one captured part of pursuit on cell phone video. you can see the suspect. he crashes the original car.

matt? >> this is a busy road at rush hour. the officer opened fire on the burglary suspect. officers from the santa clara police department in unmarked and mark vehicle pull over the man in a wait mercedes at wool -- wolfe road at 6:30. the officer get out and he fathered for his life when the driver of the mercedes tried to run him over and the officer opened fire. >> it sounded like first works. bang bang, bang, bang, bang bang. >> they counted ten shots. >> the more said was stepped. he got out of the vehicle and he sped up and tried to hit the officer. he fled the scene. >> it is believed the buy mercede was hit. they do not know if the suspect was hit. no innocent bystanders were injured but an s.u.v. had a back

>> covering santa rosa berkeley, san jose and all the bay area, this is abc7 news. arrested again. the woman known as the serial stowaway is back to her old tricks in florida. amy hollyfield is at sfo to explain. amy? >> i spoke with the duty manager here at sfo this morning. he said he is not surprised to hear this. he called her relentless. here is the newest backing photo. this is 62-year-old marilyn hartman. this time authorities say she slipped past security in minneapolis and caught a flight to jacksonville without a ticket. she checked interest someone else's hotel room at the omni resort and checked into the room officials tracked her down. hartman has been caught trying to sneak on to flights 11 times since march and seven were at sfo. some. employees are shaking their heads.

>> what are the consequences? why does she keep getting out and doing the same thing? i don't understand. it is repeated. repeat offenders of other crimes get a harsher penalty correct? so what is the penalty for her actions? >> she has served jail time sent arrest after stowing away on a flight from san jose to los angeles last august. the district attorney said she refuses to be reformed. authorities are not sure how she pulled it off but it raises concerns of security. she is due back in court on march 5 and the bond is set at $55,000. cubans can get hooked on "house of cards." this weekend could be a great time to by a car. jane king has that in the money report this morning.
