guard was searching with a helicopter. they are going to stop the search to refuel the boats and bring in the personnel and switch them out with other crews coming in. they will have better luck when the sunlight comes out. they will wait for that. we talked to the family who is out here and they said this is turned into a sad situation. yesterday at 9:00 a family member called another family member and said that two members of their family a nephew and uncle were out on the water in a 12' canoe and the younger man, 22 years old, had a girlfriend with him so there were three people on the boat and they ended up in the water. 9 search began at 10:20 when the fire department was notified the people hat not returned. at 1:00 o'clock, after 1:00 o'clock, the woman was fund and she was taken to the hospital. she will be okay. she was responsive to firefighters and rescue

has decided to go ahead and get rid of the police chief. that decision came last night. kensington's governing board fired the chief because of what happened with the police sergeant who is accused of having his gun badge and ammunition stolen by a prostitute last month while in nevada. he said 26-year-old woman drugged him, christina taylor. residents did not like how the police chief handled the situation leaving barrow on active duty investigating the incident for eight months. many thought barrow should have been put on paid leave. the punishment was a suspension. harmon will be here a little longer although he has been fires, the last day is not set until may 31st. west coast ports will be operation this morning as federal mussel arrives to try to

today on treasure island. the family is going on a shopping spree. early this month the board supervisors recognized him for heroism. he broke out a window in a burning building and tossed the dog to safety and jumped into the arms of police. officers will take him to target and let him choose whatever he wants, maybe even furnishings for the family's new digs. >> you will meet a remarkable bay teen, a star where you live. he turned his passion for reading into an effort to spread the word about literacy in the community. our reporter has his story. >> 15-year-old brian is all about books reading to kids since he was a kid. >> i had a lot of books growing up and i love reading and you get out there and you realize not everyone has the opportunity. >> this scout and sophmore at st. francis high school in
