abc7 news begins with breaking news. >> we have the ending to a dramatic scene in the arrest of a suspect accused of leading police on a high speed chase in fremont on-and-off 680 and then on the city streets before being caught. >> thanks for joining us. >> police say the 20-year-old suspect tried to drive through city streets in fremont with a plat tire but he stopped half an hour ago and took off running on milpitas and jacqueline road. >> the man injured his arm when he jumped out of the car. you can see all the police cars

it took to stop. they are not saying why he was stopped or where the chase began. students in santa clara university are stunned after police say a young student stabbed his own roommate. they are crediting fellow students from possibly saving the lives of the victim and his alleged attacker. matt keller has the latest. matt? >> university is offering staff to student whose have questions or concerns about what took place inside the dorm. this comes as police are trying to put together a motive. >> the going of lent is recognized by many students and faculty on the campus of santa clara university. today something else is weighing on their mind: a violent attack took place yesterday morning in graham hall an on-campus house, unit. at 3:30 a.m., a 19-year-old attacks his roommate with a

knife while in bed, unprovoked. 350 other students live if graham city. >> something i would not expect but anything can happen. we are all pretty shaken up. >> victim had a stab wound and multiple lacerations and was taken to the hospital. he is expected to be okay. kill was taken to the hospital to treat self inflicted injuries. in the booking photo you can see the stitches wrapping around his neck. they were first treated by other santa clara university students who respond to medical emergencies on campus. the 36 in the program are frein ed e.m.t.s. >> we sleep here when we are on duty and they responded, i know for a fact, and they got the ultimate treatment.

might have saved their lives. i am proud of my squad. >> kill is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow or in santa clara county. san francisco police were investigating an early morning stabbing in union square that happen inside the walgreens at 2:00 this morning. police say that one person was stabbed and another punched in the face. fortunately, both are expected to recover. officers arrested three suspects, and one of them got away. another exit away. they say a verbal fight load up to the stabbing. >> san francisco man is safe after going missing in the woods. park rangers state 33-year-old nathan wilson a resident at ucfs medical center returned to the scar after day break. his fiance reported him missing when he failed to return home after going nor a run on the trail. rangers say the experienced athlete took his cool and took the right steps to stay safe.
