the flight status. the airline has taken 100 planes out of service for an urgent maintenance check. matt keller is at sfo with more. >> here is the good news. this are zero cancellations at san francisco international airport for southwest airlines because of the maintenance issues. that is not true at all pay area airports. right now in oakland they have reported they have five cancellations for southwest airlines pause of the maintenance issues after three southwest flights were canceled yesterday at sfo along with five at oakland. yesterday southwest grounded 128 of their aircraft after realizing they failed to do a rivered maintenance chick on the stand by hydraulic system. the backup is used to control the rudder if the main system fails. southwest canceled 90 flights across the nation yesterday because of this. last night the f.a.a. agreed do let the airline resume flying the lanes while the inspections are done during the overnight

we have a few extra clouds and a little bit of fog this morning where all of the systems are in the upper midwest and heading into the mid-south if you are getting through minneapolis or kobeing through dallas you can see snow in both places even in dallas, this is how cold it has been east rockies while we have been basking in 60 and 70 degree warmth this winter you can see the clouds from the east bay hills punching through the golden gate bridge and moving to the east bay shoreline but the low clouds and the fog quickly transitioning to sun and mild temperatures. if you liked yesterday you will love this afternoon also our warm of the highs are tomorrow and the showers and the cooler breezes come in on friday and hang around through at least saturday. now, look at today's temperatures they will look like yesterday and they will feel like yesterday but the only thing different is a few extra high clouds in the afternoon hours compared to yesterday and, still, a very private day where you will need the sunglasses.

started in sacramento and police were after them for a robbery. they lost sight of the car because the driver turned off all car lights. the car was stolen and the onstar system kicked in and gave officer location and speed information. police were able to put out a spike strip. the car r car driver over it and ruined the tires and then crashed. there was no rubber left on the tires. the driver was 100 of three who was arrested and the drivers say no one was hurt. they say they did find a gun inside the car and they think from the hurricanes of things it appears they must have robbed a department store in sacramento. all of that, though, is now under investigation. thank you amy. an east bay republican lawmaker has introduce add bill to ban bart workers from going on strike.

the assemblywoman believes she can get the legislation passed by focusing on how damaging the bart strikes like the on walk outs in 2013 are to the commuters, traffic and the economy. bart workers have said a ban on strikes give management an unfair advantage in contract ins. the bill faces steep opposition in the democratically controlled legislature. current bart labor contracts are not set to expire until juan june of 20169. >> an arizona truck driver is inned for for causing a commuter train crash in southern california and was arrested yesterday afternoon on suspicion of felony hit-and-run accident. authorities say he got out of truck and was found walking more than a while and a half away from the accident in oxnard west of los angeles yesterday morning. we brought that story to you live. he said he turned prematurely and the truck was stuck on the rails. the ntsb said that the train pushed the truck 300' down the truck.
