live from the kgo tv broadcast center in abc 7 news. it's saturday february 28th. good morning and thanks for joining us. i am chris. let's start off with a quick look at the forecast. here is lisa tracking the live doppler hd and some changes on if way lisa. >> yeah, that's right a low bringing chilly temperatures across the bay and scattered showers to the south bay and mountain snow where there's a winter weather advisory, so by down through santa cruise this is the wettest areas and up to the north around napa a few showers and into the nevada, we have picked up 17 inches in the squal and around five inches in truck can i. so looking at the snow and the slick conditions for 80 and 50.

we will talk about the highs today coming up. chris? >> thank you. crews are getting a handle on a three alarm fire. they just got it under control a few minutes ago. it was burn nothing the warehouse of 42nd avenue. that's just north and here is a photo tweeted out about a half hour ago showing how intense the flames were. it shows the smoke coming from the building there and we're told that there's no injuries. ininvestigating a at aal crash. it happened before 3:00 on interstate 580 east on the off ramp. police say a volvo crashed and ended up hitting a construction truck. the driver of the car was killed, but none of the construction workers were hurt.

they believe the driver was traveling more than 100 miles an hour at the end of the crash. all lanes have reopened following a fatal crash on highway 101. it happened around 1:30 this morning on south bound 101 on the off ramp. police say that a passenger was e jektded and the was unresponsive. investigators are trying to determine what led up to the accident. in developing news the mother of a newborn baby found dead has been arrest in the connection with her son's death. police say that 23-year-old samantha green was booked in around midnight for murder. the body of her son 20 day old justice reed was found wednesday in a remote area. green was found in the same area 17 hours earlier suffering from cuts and bruises. if pair was reported missing on monday. police cleared the screen

after determining a suspicious package was a hoax. it was discovered around 8:00 last night in the area of 34rd. they say that it appeared to be a threat because it had a timer, pipe and wire. the bomb squad was called to the screen and determined it to be a hoax. residence were asked to shelter in place until the issue was resolved. police cleared the screen around 10:00 last night. devastating consequences for a north bay woman. the man in this picture used some kind of electronic device to unlock a vehicle and steal an expensive bicycle. it was the victim's livelihood. a abc 7 reporter has news. >> reporter: you can see the suspect tracing this and then watch as he approaches and taps the door handle and magic the doors unlock and he is able to

victim was killed expect that she was slumped over in her chair. shocked neighbors say that she rented out the land and farm building. >> i feel that it was someone that they knew. they had a business and where people were coming up and storing stuff. >> this is going to hit home hard. >> she lived in the home with her brother when the crime took place. detectives would not say where they found the victim ask car. families say that they're outraged that a predator lives in the neighborhood. 71-year-old charles moved to this home last week. he was convicted in sexual assaults in bay area children in the late 80s and early 90s. he was released in 2013 and placed at a cottage but a court ordered him to move because he was too close to an elementary school. he is a tenth of a mile away from an elementary school that

then jumped them in watsonville. the surviving dog is being cared for by animal rescue. some lighter news google has unveiled planes for the headquarters in mountain view. you can see the google vision in this video and it includes putting echo friendly workplace spaiss and robots can rearrange to the latest needs and the company says that it will restore water ways and outdoor areas will be opened to the public. 20,000 people work at googles campus and the new plan has space for 30,000 employees. prayers for the bay area are being offered to those fair away. a church held a vigil hoping to raise awareness on the isis attack on the community in syria and iraq this week. here are the details.

inches so far. at the airport and north star and sniennine inches. how about 17 inches so winter weather advisory until 4:00. you can see the snow and then the rain paralleling the coast and some of it is coming down for quiet a while in mono ray santa cruise and then some scattered showers and then some very interesting cloud structures out there. you will be noticing that today. you could see a thunderstorm. the atmosphere is unstable with the heating of the sun and colder air. here is highway 17 and a little wet there and then the north bay looking out westward to napa could see a few showers. right now is low 30s, so looking at 50 and 80 with some very slick conditions and in fact when the winter weather advisory

expires, you could see some additional snow. we're looking at eight to ten inches above and then no delays but you can see the rain drops on the lends. it's going to be a cool day it had around the bay with the temperatures in some areas not reaching the seasonal norms, so timely feeling like a bit and 51 in st. in the city and the 30s in the north bay and wow it's a lot chillier, so now we're down to 35 and upper 40s in concord. you can see a few rain drops today. also a few possibility of thunder. here is the cooler start for you. 11 degrees cooler and just a couple of degrees cooler and we have had showers in mountain view already this morning and san jose. here is a look at the beach and you see the sky is threatening but with the sunshine and if you're headed down to the board

walk and could be wet there. take the rain gear and hopefully you do not mind getting wet. watch out for that and looking at sunny skies and the low is out of here. low system on monday and thought that it was going to bring us showers. here is the low and here is the cold air. there's not a lot of moisture with it. it's coming from the right direction to bring the low snow levels. we talked about the snow and here is a look at the forecast model for the rest of the rain. this is widely scattered showers. it does not mean that it's going to be raining in that particular'. we could see showers and some lightly scattered showers for a couple of hundreds and in the mountains another couple of inches and you can expect the travel delays and we're looking at highs today and upper 50s. look at the entire state and showers down to los angeles, so about 58 on the coast and 61 and liver moore in the seven day

down around mono ray and watsonville. they could see up to a half an inch by later today. lighter mubts to the north and then a few scattered showers and then 280 has seen wet weather and then around east and napa has been wet and rio vista near to valley. no chain requirements but the city is looking snowny. we have seen a foot and a half in 24 hours, so we will talk about what is to come for the weekend and until march in a few minutes. chris? >> lisa thank you. . a manhunt is under way in the isis video. abc chief corespondent travelled to london where they revealed the childhood warning signs that something was wrong. >> this is the face of isis without his mask and his knife according to the neighbors.

la and sen at that cruise and you can see all of the cells offshore. we will take you further north from half moon bay and you have seen the scattered showers and highway 1 and a couple popping up and then up to the valley and up through napa and then fairfield. the few elevations and that will continue throughout the day and we will add a little bit more heating and maybe thunderstorms throughout the afternoon, so truck looking at the snow and no chain controls. there it is down south ward. >> we're looking at the cloud build up from the camera on top of the peek. 50 at san jose and san francisco has the rain drops at the airport earlier and that's the case throughout the amp. look how blue it is and a beautiful shot and a cooler afternoon. some temperatures not reaching

the seasonal norms and that's like it for the end of february. we're down to 35 in napa earlier and right now it's in the 30s there as well as santa rosa and 48 in concord and liver moore. you can see a couple hundred more today and it's a chillier start from the north bay and mountain view waking up to some cooler conditions and the afternoon highs will be cooler as well. we could see some showers here in the north bay, but for the most part the activity is far south of here. showers focussing to santa cruise and then along the santa cruise mountains and then a chance of thunder and then a dry day tomorrow. there's the low and then it's an upper level low and then a couple of them and brings the colder stable air. with it it's moisture. it's coming from the right direction to bring the low snow level as low as 4,000 feet. that's the way that it should be

this time of the year. as we go through the next couple of hours you will notice that the activity and a few pop up showers and cannot rule out in the east bay. five inches in donner and then another five for south lake. the highs across the state is held down everywhere and 63 in los angeles and scattered showers and redwood city it's cool and maybe a thunderstorm for maybe the lunar celebration. a little settled today and warmer by a few degrees and monday another system could bring a few more showers and by tuesday and wednesday we're warming up and by the end of the week we're looking at nearly 70 around the bay. that's not respectpresentative of the whole month. >> it's been a while since i have seen the graphic.

now some sad news and former new york knicks player anthony mason has passed away. he was diagnosed with heart failure earlier this month. he was 48. last night the warriors tried to bounce back after losing to the cavaliers on thursday. here is abc news sports director in the sports report. ♪ >> good morning everybody. the warriors had every reason to be dragging. there was smoke in cleveland and did not get in in 3:00 a.m. friday morning and went out and crushed the rafters. oh the warriors felt at home and they made only one of 19 shoots and one of 19 and got a lay up. up 23 in the half and then he comes up in the third quarter and two minutes and firns with 25. step had 22 and warriors up 40

and then the warriors have the next stop sunday in boston. so after beating the warriors the cavaliers rest lebron james against the pacers and indiana loving that. he says thank you and it's a team and 15 points and 12 assists and then inside as the pacers snap the four game win streak and it's hard enough fishing with one arm but the a's have a prospect that's a switch pitcher. he is a lefty and righty. he sent seven years with the minors with the yankees and baseball had -- he is a switch hitter, so he set up to hit only to see hit get set to you throw and he switched it over and then he switched it back for six
