snack yoplait greek 100. there are hundreds of reasons to snack on it. >> live from the kgo tv broadcast center. this is abc7 news. >> good morning, everyone. i'm carolyn tyler. thanks for joining us on this sunday march 8th. let's starts with a quick look at the whether with our meteorologist lisa argen. >> hi, carolyn. waking up to changes around the bay. may see them outside your window and all the low cloudiness. reduceds visibility and even fog at the coast. all of these areas will be influenced throughout the day today with a cooler atmosphere. we are looking at 3-mile visibility in fremont. the fog does pull back and hangs out near the coast and that will allow for some 60s here. but still mild. we have plenty of 70s still.

in fact, that's above average. it looks like the short term forecast will be more of the same. but by the middle of the week we will start to feel more like the season and maybe get a few showers in here. i'll detail that for you coming up in a few minutes. >> lisa, thank you. there are a lot of questions this morning about a one alarm fire in san jose that not only damaged a house. in this story you will see only on abc7, police found 443 marijuana plants inside the house. it was in prairie wood court. authorities say the fire started in the garage around 7:30. neighbors say no one lived there but they did see people coming and going over the past couple of weeks. >> people that were recently here would come home and just pull their car in the garage and they would close the garage and they never really came through the front entry door. >> the pot is valued at half a million dollars.

police say the home bypassed pg&e and stole electricity to power the marijuana grow. >> a brazen crime caught on video. a pack of car thieves strikes four dealerships in one night. now police are on their trail. the dealerships were ransacked and several cars stolen. one business owner said two break-ins have already cost him $50,000. abc7 news reporter sergio quintana has the story. >> this is surveillance video of seven young men rushing into two car dealerships. run by omar. >> they get into the office and try to find the keys we have open and they go to the cars out front and drive off with it. >> he's resorted to taping the signs on the window warning any future burglars that a break-in is useless. he has already lost more than $50,000, including this car that was stolen during a break-in sunday. it was found on monday.

>> all the cars seem to be recovered in oakland or somewhere in oakland, but this one i think was on the highway but in oakland. chp picked it up. >> a few doors down the front window was smashed. that was at santa motors. burglars made off with several keys and cars. >> they are skilled, know what they are doing. they were able to take a couple mercedes-benz. >> a total of three car dealerships were broken into and a fourth was also hit. they were repositioning this truck to block their driveway, an attempt to prevent anyone from using keys stolen during last night's break-in to return for the cars now. police are combing through surveillance videos to see if they can identify the seven young men. until they are caught he has advice for other car dealerships. >> i suggest other car dealerships in the area to not leave their keys on-site anymore overnight because obviously these juveniles don't really care. >> he will also be installing more surveillance cameras.

abc7 news. oakland police are searching for anyone who may have witnessed the deadly stabbing of a woman near broadway auto row. officers found the woman in a commercial area at webster and 23rd street near the ymca around 4:00 p.m. yesterday. police were there well into the night looking for clues. >> hayward searching for a man want ford attempted kidnapping. neighbors say the sketch looks familiar. this is the sketch. the manaccused of trying to force a 125-year-old girl into his car on whitman street on sycamore avenue after school on friday. the man is in his early 20s as a scruffy beard no mustache. he was wearing prescription glasses. students say they have seen him around the area before.

>> i've seen him walking over here. >> she is saying she's seen him. >> the man was driving a white honda sedan. police think he may have tried to snatch a 14-year-old girl near joshua and ebony way last month. >> more tests planned in madison, wisconsin after the fatal shooting of a black teenager saturday night. [chanting] black lives matter! >> protesters gathered outside the police department and throughout the city chanting and holding signs that say "black lives matter." madison's police chief said officer matt kinney shot and killed 19-year-old tony robinson after the suspect assaulted him. >> robinson's family is asking protests to be peaceful. the officer involved has more than 12 years experience and was cleared of any wrongdoing in a previous shooting.

took the death of a white minister to change the conversation in america. and eventually the voting rights act became law. abc news selma. >> a man from palo alto was in selma back in 1965 capturing moving moments with his camera. this week they will show those photographs. it's called marching to free dam, selma to montgomery. abc7 news got an exclusive sneak-peek. he was a senior at city college of new york and editor. its newspaper at that time. he said he heard about a rally in alabama and knew the importance of being there to document the event. >> it is directed to create an effective change in society that people will have their opportunities opened up. and my photography had to share the limelight of not only the

>> it's been one year since the mysterious disappearance of malaysia flight 370 which vanished on a flight with 249 people on board. the details of a new report includes a finding that the battery of an underwater beacon that could have been used to locate the plane had expired more than a year before the aircraft vanished. it also found both the captain and the crew showed no odd behavior or signs of stress before the flight took off.

2:00 this afternoon. happening today, golden state warriors superstar steph curry and the rest of the team will help in the global fight against malaria. they will sell special tickets as oracle arena. for every ticket sold they will donate an insecticide-treated bed net to the "nothing but nets" campaign. country has taken up the campaign as a personal cause. it's done in coordination with the united nations foundation and provides nets to country to help protect against mosquitoes that carry the virus. since joining the warriors he's donated 3 bed nets for every three-pointers he makes. the warriors match that gift. today's event gets underway at 12:30. and you can watch the warriors play the clippers today only at abc7. again, tip-off is at is it 11: 11:30. country will meet with president obama to talk about his paw

san jose's restricted watering hours have changed with daylight savings. starting today watering will be allowed only before 8:00 a.m. and after 8:00 p.m. officials say despite a few impressive rainstorms this winter, california's multi-year drought is still far from over. we know the need to save water remains critically important. >> we don't have to tell you that lisa. >> right. and low fog and clouds today. it's like a summertime pattern. but we have the rain out there. it's been there for days but the ridge of high pressure has kept our temperatures so above average. #* oakland at 78. 66 half moon bay and more's today around the coast. the father will impact the temperature. quarter mile visibility. fine in concord where it is

sunny but we have fog inside the bay for 3-mile visibility in hayward, oakland. and delays at sfo where there's 4-mile visibility and in san jose. here's the look from the exploratorium camera. it looks-like a summer morning. but we will will see a return to mild afternoon temperatures. in fact on the warm side for some neighborhoods around the south bay. 53 san jose, 50 half moon bay. cooler numbers along the shoreline and even limited sunshine at times. 50 in oakland. here is another vantage point from our sutro tower camera with the marine layer, 51 fairfield. 47 napa. the clouds this morning kept the temperature from getting too cold. into the 30s. on the flip side it will keep us from getting too warm this afternoon. i don't think we have any 80s to worry about. lake tahoe could see about an inch or two of snow with the system coming in throughout the week. still warm inland. the sun sets at 7:10.

we are looking at the slight chance of showers. not for everyone, though, and that's on wednesday. this has allowed for the huge ridge. and the entire state has been releasing above average. it's been 80s in los angeles. but it's this system here will link up with another system dropping down from the northwest and that will bring the cooler conditions, the clouds, and maybe even a few rain showers. so in terms of today, the changes come from the coast with the 60s in monterey and 70s santa cruz. but still warm inland. yesterday they set a record in south lake at 61. close to that today." 70 yosemite. and temperatures around the bay today a couple degrees of cooling here and there with santa clara 73. santa cruz topping out at 70. then the low clouds and fog. 72 redwood city. upper 60s milbrae. and mid-60s for san francisco. you will notice the fog isn't

no one got all six. wednesday night's jackpot grows to $119 million. >> a major road will be closed today for the sunday street festival. it's the first event for this year. streets will be close today traffic between fishermen's wharf and at&t park from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. the entire roadway will be open for walking and biking and striking and everything else you want to do. it is all free. fishermen's wharf and pier 39 are also hosting a variety of family-friendly activities to coincide with sunday streets. 309-mile stretch along the waterfront will feature lots of family-friendly entertainment including a rock wall and a segway obstacle course. the weather is going to be fantastic for that. >> it will be nice.
