news. napa county health officials are warning that visitors to top dining destinations in napa may have been exposed to hepatitis a. this after several confirmed cases. amy hollyfield is live in napa. >> reporter: five cases in five weeks, according to the health department. two of them at this hotel. we're being told that two of the patients work at the restaurants inside the westin verasa in napa. la toque restaurant and bank cafe and bar. no customers are known to have contracted hepatitis a. but people who visited here in february have to monitor their health for the next seven weeks. from february 9th through the 26th. the hotel says it is cooperating with the health department. and it is doing everything to safeguard its guests employees. hepatitis a can be transmitted by ingesting food or drink. here's the symptoms to look for.

favor, joint pain, jaundice. all of these are associated with hepatitis a. the other three cases in napa are not associated with this hotel or any other public setting. health officials say they have not figured out the source the infection yet. but symptoms typically show up about four weeks after exposure. >> amy, thank you. 6:03. happening now, teamster union leaders are reaching out to drivers at another corporate shuttle company at bus stops across san francisco. here's a look at one of the organizing drives at sacramento and van nuys in san francisco. it's focusing on bower transportation. that ferries workers from straen to tech companies in silicon valley. this comes after drivers voted to unionize at two other shuttle companies. drivers have campaigned about not getting paid to being forced

to take time off between their morning and evening split shift trips. san jose police and the chp have released a picture showing what happened when someone fired at two officers along a freeway. you see the bullet ripped through the roof of their patrol car. it happened after the officers stopped a driver last thursday. officers combed the northbound lanes of u.s. 101 near story road looking for evidence after the shooting. silicon valley crime stoppers is offering a $3,000 cash reward for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter. from sonoma county, two men are under arrest and the search far third smt is under way after a man was abducted at gunpoint in front of his wife and two kids. the trio took the man and forced him into a car in santa rosa tuesday night. investigators say they stuffed the man into the trunk and drove him almost 150 miles while holding him for ransom.

in modesto the man managed to escape. a massive manhunt continues for the gunman or gunmen who shot two police officers in ferguson missouri. protesters were back on the streets again last night. bazi kanani has the latest, including reaction from president obama. >> reporter: determined protesters in ferguson, back on the streets. but calmer and clearing out earlier under increased police presence, after their demonstration the night before ended violently. [ gunshots ] >> oh, my god. >> got an officer down. officer down. shots fired at the station. >> reporter: chaos at the scene after midnight when gunfire struck two officers. one in the face. the other in the shoulder. both now recovering. >> we're lucky, by god's grace, we didn't lose two officers last

night. >> reporter: but the shooter is still out there. police questioned three people from this home, after a s.w.a.t. team moved in. tearing apart the roof. but no arrests were made. as the manhunt continues, more calls for peace. >> calling for your love. >> reporter: prayers at a vigil for the two injured offersers. president obama on jimmy kimmel last night says the ferguson protests against systemic racism is understandable. but violence is not. >> what's happening in ferguson, was oppressive and objectionable and woreny of protest. >> the two officers are back home from the hospital. and for now, ferguson police are no longer in charge of security at the protests. the state patrol and county police are taking over. bazi kanani abc news washington. new this morning, one person has died and another is injured after a medical helicopter crash

in oklahoma. the helicopter crashed last night about 130 miles east of oklahoma city. authorities say three eagle med employees with no patients onboard. one person was killed. a female passenger was taken to the hospital. and a third person was able to walk away from the crash. no word on what caused the helicopter to go down. also new this morning one of more than three dozen women accusing comedian bill cosby of sexual assault, is taking her fight to the nevada legislature today. the alleged victim whose name is being kept quiet, will be represented by glory allred. under nevada law, it is too late for cosby to be charged of what this woman accuses him. but she and allred are pushing the state to change the statue of limitations. this could benefit rape victims and save lives. new details emerging on the alleged spousal battery incident

involving 49er bruce miller. documents say miller pushed his fiancee to the ground and destroyed her cell phone. police arrested miller just before midnight not far from the niners facility. but he's not been charged. miller is the 11th team member to be arrested since 2012. a prayer service will take place this afternoon at the san francisco park where two men were shot and killed earlier this week. 19-year-old don bell and 18-year-old kenyatta butler died after being shot at crocker park monday morning. they were in a vehicle. a roman catholic priest will organize prayer vigils, hoping to stop the violence. san jose's mayor is looking to have the city's libraries open six days a week. the mayor announced he would seek to restore funding to

a new twist this morning in the fraternity fallout. another chapter of sigma alpha epsalon is under fire. members were accused of chanting slurs at home. the protesters say they were cursed at and called apes as they walked by the fraternity house. the u.w. black student union plans to meet with the university president today to discuss taking action. this comes just days after the sae chapter at the university of oklahoma was shut down after the singing of a racist chant. a mother is demanding an apology from united airlines because of breast-feeding. a mother was breast-feeding her son while the plane taxied. a male flight attendant threw a blanket at her husband and said here, help her out.

the woman documented the encounter. the airline insists they welcome breast-feeding mothers. this week's cover article on hillary clinton is raising eyebrows. social media is buzzing because the cover image appears to give the former first lady and secretary of state, a pair of horns. officials say any resemblance is coincidental. the issue has come up dozens of times for other magazine covers. "the fashion police" has kathy griffin following kelly osbourne out the door. she announced her departure. she had replaced joan rivers. griffin says her style doesn't mesh. and she criticized how fashion police critiques celebrity looks. i don't want to use my comedy to contribute to a culture of unprofessionalism and

>> reporter: this is one of the stops for bower transportation here at sacramento and van nuys. they are here in their jackets, handing out union information to the drivers. they want to organize the drivers in an effort to get higher wages benefits. the drivers work long hours, and split shifts and make between $30,000 and $40,000 a year. >> they deserve something better. everybody recognizes, that is a difficult way to try to survive on here. these workers work very hard. and they deserve more money. >> reporter: the teamsters have been successful unionizing two other shuttle company's drivers. this is late february at apple. 158 full and part-time drivers for compass temperatures

contracted by tech companies. the next day, they voted to join the teamsters. a week later apple announced it would give its shuttle bus drivers an increase in pay. in addition the people that work split shifts will earn a higher hourly wage, as well. compass says that doesn't include them. drivers for loop temperatures did get a boost in benefits. they are contracted by facebook. votes to unionize bower transportation could take place as little as 30 days. as far as the rally here they expect to be out here through 9:00 this morning. >> thank you. happening today the man accused of shooting and killing an oakland mother trying to protect her children will appear in court. 19-year-old anthony sims faces murder charges. oakland police believe others took part in the crime. sims got hurt himself in monday

the rights of our community our neighbors, our lives. >> while he is being supervised 24/7, the neighborhood will be a very safe location. >> smith will wear a gps ankle bracelet. if he goes where he shouldn't, an alert will go to liberty not to 911. residents wants a judge to stop the plan in a hearing later this month. san francisco police have released a sketch of a man who they say tried to lure a 10-year-old into his car. on march 6th, officers say the man drove up to the student. they say the man tried to coax the student into his vehicle four times. the child escaped to a nearby restaurant. the man is described as a 30-year-old to 40-year-old white man with slicked back black hair and facial stubble. he was seen driving a yaris or a honda hit-type vehicle. crime stoppers is offering a $3,000 award leading to the arrest of this escaped

information. it's been a week since the accused child molester got away from a sheriff's deputy in san jose. he overpowered the deputy while at a doctor's appointment. union leaders at the refinery in martinez have reached a deal to end a strike that's gone on for six weeks. a new contract was reached yesterday, between the united steelworkers and shell. tesoro employees about 2,500 unionized workers in martinez. about 10% of all u.s. refinery capacity comes from martinez. economists believe reopening of the plant should drive gasoline prices down after they increased. 6:36 now. happening today. san jose's latest group of rookie police officers will graduate from the training academy. the mayor will speak today. san jose has 1,000 officers, down from a peak of 1,400 six years ago.
