what do we do now? do they continue to serve as police officers? can they serve thunder community? >> an attorney representing san francisco officers connected to a text scandal does not deny their involvement but isn't sure they should be kicked off the fort. i'm katie marzullo. san francisco's police chief tells us he will seek nothing short of termination for officers accused of taking part in the scandal. we talked with both the chief and one of the attorneys representing the accused officers. we're live at the hall of

justice. >> reporter: the police chief says that the investigation is a number one priority for his department. he expects the case to wrap up in a month. the text messages date back to 2011 and 2012. they were found on the officer's personal phones. they're now being thoroughlily examined. >> san francisco attorney tony brass is representing the officers, two of the four officers now being velocitied for sending racist and homophobic text messages. >> my clients are remorseful and accept responsibility and remorseful. the best way to put it they're ashamed. >> the text messages became public during a bail hearing for after officer. abc7 obtained court documents that show the text messages that aclus and insults against blacks and gay people and hispanics.

a text message from november 9 201, reads: do you celebrate kwanzaa what you school? yeah, we burn the cross on the field, then celebrate whiteness. on april 18 2012, a text read 20,000 bees are in vacaville anywhere school but they're not dangerous like black people. the police chief calls the messages disgraceful. >> my expectation the police commission will share my desire to terminate these people from the police department. if you have character that incompatable with that of a police officer, then you shouldn't be a police officer. >> the four officers have been re-assigned to positions where they do not have contact with the public. the police department is interviewing anyone and everyone believed to be involved. >> some of those officers could be witnesses, some of them could be named members. i don't know hough it's going to break down. >> in san francisco, abc7 news.

>> develop news out of ferguson missouri tonight, authorities charged a 20-year-old man for shooting two police officers during a protest thursday. jeffrey williams faces two counts of fir degree assault one count of firing a weapon from a vehicle, and three counts of armed criminal action. it happened outside the police station as a peaceful demonstration against police brutality was winding down. williams says he was firing at someone else not at the officers. >> it's possible at this point he was firing shots at someone other than the employment we're not sure we completely buy that part of it. >> both wounded officers have been released from the hospital. williams is being held on $300,000 bail. it's a murder arrest with all the twists and continue a hollywood blockbuster. an aging reclusive millionaire 15-year-old cold case, and now potential new evidence involving author susan berman, the daughter of a laughings mob boss

video of flames leaping from the house on rose creek drive. the fire began just before 9:00 last night and was out 30 minutes later. firefighters did manage to keep the flames contained but the roof collapsed. no one was hurt. the two people who lived in the house are now staying with relatives. new details now in a fire that injured a family of five in san francisco's mission district. st. francis memorial hospital says today that three burn victims, father and two of his children, are improving and are now out of critical condition. the fire happened wednesday at an apartment above a liquor store at 24th discreet treat avenue. firefighters acted quickly to rescue the five people from different parts of the building. he cause of the fire remains under investigation. the search is on for a man who stabbed two people in a grocery store parking not santa clara. the police received a call yesterday use in the afternoon about a fight in the parking lot of safeway on the al immediate

damp. when officers arrived they found two people suffering from stab wounds. both victims are expected to survive. police describe the suspect as a hispanic male, roughly 5'6" they say he has a shaved head and may have been driving or riding in a silver or brown four-door honda. a missing at-risk woman in san francisco has been found safe. angela disappeared from care facility on thursday. police say she was located friday night. a statewide operation to crack down on adults buying alcohol for minors has resulted in six arrests and 53 citations in the bay area. the california department of alcoholic beverage control called it operation shoulder tap. agency decoys under the age of 21 stood outside convenience and liquor stores on friday and saturday, asking customers to buy them alcohol. those who did were hit with a $1,000 fine. the arrests involved possession

>> we're hearing from the driver involved to in this crash. larry dixon's car snapped in half sending him flipping down the track last night at a national hot rod association race in florida. emergency crews rushed to the scene but dixon no worse for wear waiving to the crowd as he walked away.

the real estate investment trust which owns sierra at tahoe's ski resort is considering getting out of the snow business. cnl lifestyle properties owns 16 ski resorts from maine to california. if it sells all of them to one buyer, it would be the largest single ski resort transaction in the history of the sport. industry officials say a sale will not have an impact on visitors since the resort operators long term leases will stay in place even if properties change hands. ac transit riders in the east bay have more options to get around. starting today the agency expanded its service on 17 east bay lines. that means the popular 72r line connecting richmond and oakland now has weekend service. lines 46 and 339 will run to the oakland zoo and shack bow space
