santa rosa all will have fog 47 to 50 are temperatures at 7:00 this morning. up to 72 at mean and 62 to 76 at 4:00 and mid-70s during the evening. no record highs. still, warmer than we should be. how about the roads? >> one accident in oakland. on the nimitz. it does not appear to be causing problems in the center divider. there is fog, though. the golden gate bridge shows mike is telling us half mile visibility so use the low beams. on the bay bridge you can see the shallow layer is moving offer the toll plaza and it is thickening moving south into the east so be careful and traffic is manageable from the east by to san francisco. >> we have breaking news from the east bay rescuers are trying to find a woman would ran her car off the road. our reporter is on the scene.

this is an incredible story of the c.h.p. not giving up. their ground crews could not fine the woman who crashed her car. it took them a helicopter from above to find her and now you can see why look how remote the car is. we are at the reservoir on the east side of the reservoir between orinda and el sobrante and c.h.p. said she was above the saab pablo reservoir driving and her tire locked up and she lost control and crashed. she had a cell phone and that is how they were able to find her. she stayed on the phone with dispatch. she could hear the sirens coming from the c.h.p. officers looking no her and she honked so they could hear her but she could

hear them she sat in the car for an hour and a half waiting to be rescued. she was not hurt. they are waiting in a tow truck to tow the car out that could take a while because it is difficult to find. c.h.p. officers said they stayed calm and on the phone and were not going to give up. it is 5:03. tonight in the south bay a prayer vigil is held in honor of the san jose police officer killed in the line of duty this week and relatives are finalizing funeral arrangements for officer michael johnson and our reporter is at san jose police headquarters. matt? >> two memorials are at the san jose police department one here and one a block away and they have grown significantly since yesterday. it is obvious the death of officer mike johnson is having a

big impact on the community and officers and officer potworo fired a single shot at dunham killing him. >> he could have ducked and covered but, instead, he showed unbelievable bravery. his life he save other people's lives that day. >> it took seven hours before police could confirm dunham was dead. he fell out of sight of the officers and found near the balcony where he shot officer johnson. the man being called a hero, officer pat worry has been on the force 16 years and now on paid lebanon. funeral plans for officer johnson are not announced and a prayer vigil is scheduled

the bay area woman who claims she was kidnapped and held for ransom said it was not made up. the 29-year-old denise huskins and her boyfriend claim she was kidnapped from the home on monday and released unharmed two days later. miss say it was a hoax for an $8,500 ransom. >> rare vigil will take place this evening for fallen san jose police officer michael johnson killed in the line of duty on tuesday night. commanders are crediting johnson's partner foreigning a hero and say officer doug potwora risked his life when he fired a shot that killed the suspected gunman. >> three, a berkeley ambassador is out of a job fired after a video surfaced showing him repeatedly hitting a homeless man. the downtown berkeley association said that the ambassadors are supposed to focus on hospitality and directing those in need to social services. senate minority leader harry reid announced he will retire at the end of his term.

remote hillside will it took an hour and a half to find the car that was stuck here. here is a look at car stranded here on the himside and the woman inside calls 9-1-1 at 2:47 this morning and c.h.p. officers finally got here at 4:07. she is okay. she was stuck on the hillside at reservoir between orinda and sell appropriate and was driving's and her tire locked up she lost control and crashed. c.h.p. officers on the group could not fine her. she could hear their sirens. but they could not locate her. they needed a helicopter to look from above. they finally found her. they just pulled the car off the whileside and will tow it out of here and begin the investigation. it took a while for c.h.p. to

freeway chase stretched for 90 miles through southern california. police say a thief seized the opportunity when a cab driver left the keys in the ignition and the motor running outside a 7-eleven in santa ana and drove through a construction zone. the chase finally ended when the driver stopped in northern los angeles county. >> the boss at action transit has quit just as the system's board appear ready to fire him. general manager david armijo joined act transit three years ago. the board scheduled a special meeting for today with the agenda item to remove the general manager from office. it was canceled after david armijo resigned dying in the letter of resignation that ridership grew by 10 percent and a.c. transit has posted a $40 million budget surplus the past two years. action transit senators --
