arsons. >> bottles of accelerants being left around buildings and vegetation with the intention of starting some type of fire. >> the timing of this morning's con confrontation, what it took to identify a suspect. >> any time the community can live in the community they work in is the right thing. i'm definitely happy i was at the right place at the right time. two deal developing news a musician died after being shot in oakland. it happened early this morning outside the golden bowl bar on 14th and franklin street. police tell our media partner the bay area news group the 26-year-old from oakland was packing up his equipment after a show in the area when he was hit by gun fire. officers say the shooting erupted after an argument between two men and one of those men opened fire and a second bystander was wounded. investigators are asking witnesses to come forward.

a man died and a good samaritan was seriously injured in a crash in san pablo. it happened before 6:00 on interstate 80 westbound on san pablo dam road. the chps a honda collided with a pillar and the car caught fire. the driver died. a witness got out of his car to help the victim and was hit by a passing car. a third crash happened when another driver slowed at the accident scene and was rear ended. no one in that crash was seriously hurt. up next a look at the work that has shut down bart service in part of the east bay. find out how it went for passengers during the first day of what will be a regular disruption for the next few months. and the surprising results of

bart riders traveling through oakland may experience some delays on weekends starting today through august. trains will not be riding through the fruitveil and coliseum coliseum for the next 11 weeks. they're replacing 3,000 feet of rail. >> we'll try to keep that work to sundays and we'll be as flexible as we possibly can around sporting events that are happening on the weekends but we want everyone to know that service will be restored by the beginning of revenue service on monday morning. >> busses will shuttle riders between the fruitvale and oakland coliseum when they're closed. colt provided abc 7 news with these photos.

meteorologist drew tuma. >> the sun is back out. live doppler 7 hd will show you the quick moving line of rain and now off to the east. a live look outside and a gorgeous sunday afternoon after the morning and puffy cirrus clouds in the background and otherwise lots of sunshine as the sun goes down at 7:38 in the evening. >> we'll talk about what it feels outside at the hour and it's a rather cool day right now. san francisco coming in at 56 degrees and 59 right now in concord and 56 in danville and one of the warmer locations coming in with the temperature of 60 degrees. here comes the quick-moving line of showers in the wake of that and we're breaking out for sunshine and dryer air, but a second storm is now waiting in the wings. the wider view will show you the area of low pressure right now just off the coast of oregon and this system will go right over tomorrow evening and bring us

some soaking showers and the chance of some thunderstorm, but ahead of that system the winds are going to kick up early tomorrow morning at 7:00 on your monday pretty calm around the region, but as the cold front gets closer watch as they increase and wind gusts between 25 and 35 miles per hour and then comes the wet weather. future weather will show you early tomorrow morning and just a mainly cloudy sky and the rain mainly offshore and that will be the theme for much of our monday. you notice the cold front by 1:00 in the afternoon just starting to move into california and later in the evening on monday by 9:00 here comes the heavier showers and first working into the north bay around santa rosa and clover dale and it's around the midnight hour into early tuesday morning and the cold front goes over the heart of the bay around san francisco, vallejo and even into oakland and the yellow and orange indicate a pretty strong defendant. so it wouldn't be out of the question to hear thunder and the possibility of small hail and early tuesday morning that front

pushes to the east of us and we begin to dry out. in terms of rainfall, this will be a pretty good soaking of a system. the north bay seeing three-quarters to an inch and a half of rain around the bay and a half an inch to as much as an inch and a quarter and in the south bay a quarter to three-fourths of an inch of rain once all is said and done. pretty impressive as we go through thursday afternoon and 14 inches of snow and even kirkwood, 18 inches of snow with this second system. >> overnight tonight, mainly cloudy skies we'll see 46 in richmond dropping to 47 in san francisco and 41 the overnight low in san jose and highs for monday, mainly cloudy skies and the showers move in in the evening hours and 59 san francisco, 69 oakland and up to 62, san jose. accuweather forecast shows late-day showers on monday and the bulk of the rain falls overnight into early tuesday morning and could see some lightning and could hear some thunder and next week is dry and

broadcast booth passed away today at the age of 91. the hall of famer was the original voice of the san francisco giants with russ hodges in 1958 spending 23 years with the team in three different stints. he handled the eighth broadcast from 1981 to 1995 and he was the 49ers announcer for 26 years. he hadden cyclopedic sports knowledge, a flair for the dramatic and a self-deprecating sense of humor. he loved all sports and i worked with him in the late '80s in kfog raid why where he was a regular contributor in a rock 'n' roll format. that's how relevant he was. his voice was synonymous with baseball throwing out the first pitch and here's his call of willie mayes' 600th home run and his trademark kiss it good-bye. >> what a brave act. will that? >> number 600 for willie maceys.

>> more people grew up listening to lon simmons than any broadcaster in history. he was one who did baseball and football and he will be missed by giant, as and 49ers fans alike and our thought goes out to his four daughters. the giants left for arizona with heavy hearts knowing that lon passed away but he would say the games must go on. madison will get the opening day start and hopefully carrying over his world series mvp performance and to this season. newly acquired third baseman admitted he was nervous the past three games here at home and told us opening day never gets old. >> for me it was like christmas morning opening day you wait all off season until spring training to get it going and when it's finally there it's almost a holiday for us. >> the guys have been great about making me feel welcome and at this point just chomping at the bit to get it going and see what this year has in store.
