hiding in the closet and listened as the burglar broke in and ran ransacked several homes on tuesday. the woman heard a noise before 2:00 a.m. and she checked an app on her phone that is hooked up to four security cameras influence the house that provide a live image. she was horrified to see a man standing right outside her bedroom window. she called 9-1-1. >> they said lock your bedroom door and hide in your room and wait for the police. they are on the way. >> she listened as the burglar busted a lock on the kitchen door alarms went off but he ignored them. he searched in drawers and under a mattress and the suspect even tried to on the locked door to her room. she screamed and he ran. the burglar left the home finally, on the way out he stopped by a neighbor's home and went into their backyard where

he stashed his skateboard and fled the scene. visible cameras did not stop the guy neither did alarms and motion censored lights. the woman bought a gun and updated her locks to protect her sell. >> in a few hours california public utilities commission is scheduled to decide which penalty will be imposed on pg&e for causing the deadly 2010 san bruno pipeline explosion and fire. before the vote the state p.u.c. will take public comments. regulators considering two proposals to punish pg&e and one would fine the utility $1.6 billion and require meg peg shareholders to pay $850 million for safety upgrades to the natural gas system and the other land includes $1.4 billion penalty but far less in safety upgrades.

and the p.u.c. president will ask if pg&e is too big to separate safely and will ask stuff to study this and look at whether to split the gas and electric operations. he said that with $1.6 billion in earnings last year they are able to shrug off penalties and peg said they carried out extensive safety improvements since the disaster. police in oregon arrested two men in connection with a murder in contra costa county. a traffic stop occurred of the suspect vehicle at 5:00 p.m. yesterday. investigators determined the suspects were wanted in connection with a homicide in contra costa county. the suspects were identified a 20-year old and a 24-year-old, both taken into custody without incident. police in berkeley warn people to look out after two strong-arm robberies minutes of each other. the first happened at 12:42

yesterday near packer street. a man saw four men walking toward him. one of the men punched the victim in the face and made off with his cell phone and wallet. the second incident 457ed six minutes later north of parker street and that incident four men surrounded the man and took the cell phone. the victim was not hurt. >> a jury convicted the owner of a party bus contain in the death of 25-year-old natasha noland who died when she fell identity of bus and on to the highway. jon reno st. james was convicted of involuntary manslaughter. he knew the bus door was faulty and ignored it. jon reno st. james faces four years in prison. >> today, doctors with the uc system will walk off the job across california during the four day walk out the longest labor action waged by uc doctors in 25 years. the doctors are negotiating the first contract since unionizing in 2013 striking over what they

call unfair labor practices. the union has accused the uc system of withholding financial information necessary to negotiate a contract. uc officials deny the allegations. they say health centers will remain open during the strike. our california is a step closer to vaccinations being mandatory. the state senate passed a bill stopping parents from opting out. state reports show that more than 800 human cases of west nile virus were reported throughout california in 2014 the second highest year on record. according to the state department, the drought could be a contributing factor to the spike. officials say boyfriends and mosquitoes are coming into closer contact around a smaller
