>> an east bay man is dead after being hit by another driver who was on the run from police. that driver perez, is now in custody. police say he crashed his car last night in richmond at 24th 24th street and gamer avenue. cornell bernard spoke with the victim's family today. he is live at the richmond police department. >> reporter: a young father from san pablo lost his life in the crash. his family has questions about what happened. the police are investigating. the twisted wreckage of a four door honda, its air bags deployed. a painful reminder of a terrible crash. >> i heard the impact, like cannon. >> reporter: she was two blocks away when she heard the crash which took the life of her kiss sin, anthony nguyen. a small memorial marks the spot where he died. >> a three-year-old daughter. what can you say when someone has a child? >> reporter: police say nguyen was passenger in the honda when it was struck bay speeding

richmond marks the second one this weekend in the bay area. san friday police are still looking for three men who hit and killed a woman with a stolen car friday night. officers chased the toyota because it was links to a string of armed robberies. that car hit and killed a woman as she crossed california street. police later found the storm car, abandoned on treasures island. man accusation outside of killing his girlfriend in front of their one area daughter is in santa clara book jane. police arrest evidence andrew butler. investigators say he shot kendra gone saturday less last week. he told two people in the car to get out and take their daughter with them before he drove off. van ness avenue in san francisco is now open to local traffic after an all weekend closure. the construction manager on the california pacific medical center tunnel says work is ahead of schedule. the tunnel will connect a new

police across california are writing fewer tickets for distracted driving. tickets are down 25%. studies suggest driving while using the phone is a by bigger problem tom first thought. distracted drivers are four times more likely to crash the same as drunk drivers. our partners at the bay area news group report police lack the resources needed to catch violators and also plame traffic jams, people hiding their fine, and the fine $161, they'll say is too low. kuemper complaints against frontier airlines are taking off. they've soared over the last four months with more than 120 in february alone. the airline recently became an
